About this property
NEW! Gorgeous Waterfront Estate with Saltwater pool, beach and dock
Treat yourself to this unique waterfront retreat where you’ll enjoy stunning ocean liner views of the Choptank River from nearly every room and the waterfront pool, and you and your dearest ones can't help but make lifetime memories. This sumptuous home and extensive grounds are part of an historic Maryland estate that also boasts more than 4400 square feet of living space. Here, on land that was once part of the DuPont family’s Chesapeake Bay retreat, you’ll find ample room to spread out, fun activities to engage everyone in your party, and plenty of modern creature comforts.
Most of the amenities at Blue Water Farm are oversized and overlook the mighty Choptank River, starting with the manor house on the water’s edge that boasts 7 bedrooms, 4 ½ baths, a large living room with fireplace, formal dining room and two kitchens.
Bedrooms:
Manor House’s Main Wing: A massive master bedroom suite with its own fireplace and full bath also has picture windows on three sides, so you can choose to watch the morning waves, oystermen and osprey from bed or a corner chaise lounge. Two more spacious bedrooms are down the hall - the Riverview Room with king-sized brass bed and the Great Blue Heron room with queen bed.
South wing: The Palm Suite has a queen bed, its own full bath and a 100-year-old magnolia tree outside. Upstairs, the Cedar Room resembles a roomy captain’s quarters with a queen-sized bed, and the sunny Bunk Room has beds for six. A full laundry and mudroom is down the hall.
Guest house/party room:
To add to your options for fun, a large guest house is perched on the waterfront just steps away from the main house, with its own large billiards room, separate party room, bar, kitchen and the property’s 7th bedroom suite with full bath. Perfect for an informal dance party, karaoke night, a place to gather for the big game, or a separate teen hang-out space.
Outside:
Dip in the oversized pool or just take in the views from lounge chairs on the sunny brick deck. Grill on the outdoor patio, then dine alfresco, with seating for 20. Gather a dozen of your closest pals for cocktails on the comfy sofas on the extended three-sided screen porch, or at the end of the new 120-foot pier. Explore the private beach, perfect for bonfires, river swims and sunbathing, as well as a boat launch that's ideal for the kayaks we have on hand. On the spacious grounds, read a book in the hammock while the kids enjoy the private playset nearby. Feeling more ambitious? Hike through the 143-acre estate, along the shoreline or through the farm fields of our own Horns’ Point, the site of one the earliest English settlements on the Eastern Shore.

Wow! What an incredible property and house. We were a group of families with small kids, and it was heaven for them playing in the pool, on the dock, on the playground, and in the expansive yard. Lots of beautiful sunsets on the patio for the grown-ups too. We never had to leave. Can't recommend highly enough.
The property was perfect for our family get together. We had a baby, toddler, preschooler, elementary and teens, moms, dads and grandparents. There was a place for everyone. Having a pack n’ play available would have been nice, but we procured one elsewhere. The property was large and felt very private, but Cambridge was just a quick drive.

We appreciate the feedback and are very glad you enjoyed your stay! We would love to host you again!
The house and property were even better than expected. While the house had plenty of room to allow everyone to fit comfortably and spread out, it also provided lots of spaces for us to gather together as a large group. We are a family of 15, including adults, teens, and children, and we came together for a weekend of quality time outdoors together, which was exactly what this property provided. The outdoor space was an absolute dream. We spent most daytime hours swimming in the pool, crabbing and fishing from the pier, and playing games on the property like with football ball and kickball.. We spend evenings around the fire pit and on the screened porch, playing games and just being together. The house was the perfect combination of classic character and modern comfort, but the location and water views were the best part of our stay. Doug was a fantastic host. He was responsive to questions and inquiries and provided some great suggestions to make our stay the best it could be. Check in and check out were a breeze. We highly recommend this property and will certainly return on our next visit to Cambridge!
Loved the house. Looked just like the pictures only nicer. We were a family of 11 and there was something for everyone young and old. Fishing off the dock was a big favorite. The pool house was especially fun filled in the evening with playing pool, cards, games, etc. The pool was big that everyone had their "own space" or played together! One thing the pool does not have a railing to get in or out, but not difficult. The air conditioner in some rooms was a little spotty. The outside screened porch was comfortable for early morning coffee...beautiful sunrises, and just gathering together. The host left soap and other nice touches in the rooms. Loved the place and hope to return someday.

Hi Janice,
We loved hosting you and you were a wonderful guest. Glad you enjoyed the property and one small tidbit is that the air conditioning at the time unbeknownst to us was having an issue. We actually are in the process of replacing with new this week and everything should be super comfortable for all of our guests moving forward. We hope to host you again! Doug
I took my family on this vacation because it was large enough for all of my children, their spouses and grandchildren to spread out. There were multiple activities such as fishing, crabbing, swimming in the pool, kayaking, hiking and beach "treasurer hunts" to find things like sea glass, shells, etc. We really loved the dock and its illumination, the screened in porch area and the backyard area at night with the lights were very nice. Unfortunately, we only had one good day of weather. I would recommend that the owners supply more pans, pots, measuring tools and other cookware or inform future guests of what is available. The glasses, plates, bowls and utensils were very plentiful. The house and pool house require some updating with electrical outlets, lighting in the dining room, installing exhaust fans in bathrooms, and the HVAC system was hard to keep at a comfortable temperature in certain areas of the house. Other than that, it's an amazing piece of property with a ton of river frontage. The views and places to hike were just serene and gorgeous.
