Everything with the host was fine. The only reason why I'm giving it the rating I'm giving it is because we were told that there was a hot tub. Our kids wanted to get in the hot tub. When we arrived the hot tub was cold and the management company said that they already knew that. Everything else was great! It's a lovely unit in a good quiet location.

For clarity, the listing does note that the pool area is closed during the winter months, and we updated the description to specifically include the hot tub as well to help avoid any future confusion. Once we became aware the hot tub was not operational during your stay, we communicated promptly, offered the option to cancel with a full refund, and provided compensation even though you chose to continue your stay.

My family has made it tradition to visit myrtle beach every summer. We travel from DC and the drive is a bit long but worth it. This rental was clean, spacious, and so convenient. Loved how close all the stores are. 20-25 min from the boardwalk. Will def try to rent here again.

Housekeeping was wonderful. Communication with owners was great. Our only complaint was the tiny parking area. My car was dented by another guest. Overall, we had a great trip.

An Okay Experience
The property was pretty dirty especially when we were charged to clean the place. The sofas were also dirty. Services from property management were close to nonexistent. I wasn’t able to open the lockbox and contacted the property management during their hours of operation but couldn’t get any help. My only option was sending an email for non-urgent needs or left a message for urgent help. I left a message but no one called me back. Luckily, my husband was able to open it. While the property had dinnerware, there weren’t enough for everyone. There were roughly 6 dinner plates, 3 coffee mugs, and 1 glass for juice/milk. How is that enough for 10 people? While these things may seem minor, it was an additional aggregation after a terrible experience at check-in. On the plus side, the location was awesome with a great view.

Your unit should have been cleaned to your standards upon arrival, and there should have been enough dishware for everyone. Unfortunately, we can only rectify what we are made aware of. We would have happily brought you everything you needed, as well as sent housekeeping back out to clean anything and everything you needed. We are sorry you struggled with the lockbox. We make sure to provide clear and concise instructions so check-in is as smooth as possible. We will, of course, look over and address all the issues you incurred as we are always in the business of improving! We are happy to hear you enjoyed the oceanfront view and hope you'll give us the opportunity to host you again and provide you with the five-star experience you deserve!

A few issues needed fixed that wld have made great place. Furniture needs cleaned. Cant close living rm curtains. No can opener (both broken).was told one was coming never got. Bedding had not been changed -trash can full of grease- utensils dirty, kitchen table/coffee table dirty. I cleaned all. Dishwasher spinner had broken off and melted to heat unit (appeared for a long time- response was for me to feel free to handwash- made me a lil put off. They offered to send repair I asked for them to wait til we checked out since only there 4 days. Last night they did refund 100. I think we desrerved 1 night free stay or at least comped 1 evening. I spent full day cleaning. This trip was a ladt minute break from taking full care of my sick mom- i went to beach and had to work. Sadly, this cld have been great place with a lil tlc. Nice size/ layout and location! Also neighbors above kept going in and out of sliding doors until 3 am- just fyi on bottom u can really hear when they are louder. Also fyi the photos of view are a lil misleading. The hand rail is very unusually tall so until u sit down while on porch the view is blocked by hand rail that hits at eye level - im 5ft 51/2. Picture shown of view is taken above rail. Not a big prob for us- the location was great. Also an alarm in bottom entrance never was turned off- it was constant? They cld also be a little clearer that key to get in building is in padlock box in garage hanging by luggage carts. Several r hanging together

COULD HAVE BEEN REALLY GOOD
The renovations are very nice and make the place feel clean and fresh. Examples are the countertops and appliances are top quality. Flooring is nice and paint is well done, bathrooms are clean and updated and decorations are tasteful and current.
The following issues can be easily fixed, however they impacted our vacation quite a bit.
There wasn't any hand soap in the bathrooms. We were provided one trash bag and one dishwasher detergent cube for a 5 day stay. Several of the outlets would not work in the bedrooms. We've stayed in several VRBO properties, and this is hands down the worst stocked kitchen we've ever stayed at. No matching dishes, pots, pans, utensils, etc. No pan to make a pizza or biscuits, 5 glasses in the entire place, 3 random plastic ones and 2 mismatched glass ones. No measuring cups, the pans were charred and warped, and had to wash almost everything before using because the dishes had been put away dirty. Food hanging off edges of pots, chunks of dried food on plates. Looked as if they had not even been rinsed off before being put in cabinets. 1 side of folding doors covering laundry area was missing (found in closet on 2nd day).
The biggest issue was how uncomfortable the beds were in all the rooms. We purchased mattress toppers to make it through the week. Couch and rugs looked ragged and dirty and having only 1 key for a 4 bedroom was inconvenient.
More attention to these issues and the stay would have been 5 star for sure.
