For an 87y.o. home it looks great. Great decorating and aesthetically pleasing. A/C is great downstairs, but the ceiling fans are you real relief upstairs if it gets extremely hot. Advise to keep blinds closed during the day. No dishwasher or washer/dryer. Dishes and cookware provided. Silverware also, but only 2 forks in the drawer which was odd. We were a family of 5; 4 adults and 1 teen, which the 3 rooms worked out perfectly. Main TV in living room had some hiccups streaming videos, I believe I had to reset it to work. Great location, host was responsive. Parking on the street was worry some a bit because you felt like you were too far in the road, but it's slow roads in that area.

Great property

We used this house as a place to stay while our sister was coming to her life’s end at her house which was close by. It gave us privacy and was very well appointed. Would definitely come back under better circumstances.

Good location for visit to USC or Fort Jackson

The home is old, but the decor helps make it comfortable. It has great high ceilings and large windows. The bathroom and shower need renovation, and the water pressure in the shower needs to be boosted. It is close to Columbia, USC, and Fort Jackson.

The property itself was really good. Don’t wanna blast the listing just some areas that could be better in no particular order. Would’ve rated 4 1/2 stars if it gave me the option.- handrails - no rails on big set of steps going upstairs. At one point, my elderly parents were gonna go on this trip with us. They did not. That would’ve been a huge issue.- bathrooms - for a family of five the one bathroom was an ideal.- main couch was too low. Made it really hard to be comfortable sitting on it.- parking - when we arrived the properties three parking spots were all occupied. No logical additional parking.- no dishwasher in the house.

The listing photos appear to be heavily photoshopped and do not accurately reflect the condition of the home. While there were attempts to update the space with decor, the overall cleanliness and upkeep were disappointing.The couch and rugs had visible stains, and the bathroom fixtures were dusty and unclean. Paint was peeling in areas, and the primary bedroom had a noticeable buildup of dust—even along the walls. Window sills were also coated in dust, which made the space feel neglected.We ended up only returning to the property to sleep, as it felt dingy and uncomfortable. Additionally, parking was very limited, which added to the inconvenience.Overall, the property did not match expectations based on the listing and could benefit greatly from a deep cleaning and more accurate representation in photos.
