"Bigger than it looks." Make family memories. This spacious 5BR/3Bath Beach house is uniquely situated on a quiet street a few houses from the yacht club, and a short walk to the beautiful beach, bay, public tennis courts, playground, shopping, fishing, crabbing, and of course Mueller's Bakery. We walk or bike EVERYWHERE! For the young and restless, the boardwalk in Point Pleasant is only a 10 minute drive. For the hungry, several restaurants are within walking distance. For those needing some privacy and quiet, both the spacious first floor and second floor master bedrooms offer a seating area and TV. Something for all generations. The NJ Transit stops in Bay Head from NYC or Newark Airport.
Recently refurbished with an open concept, it has a new and fresh look. The first floor contains a living room, dining room, kitchen and Florida Room with a 40' flat screen TV. The Florida Room opens up to the back courtyard creating a large continuous space. New outdoor comfy furniture and lighting creates a delightful space.
There is one MBR downstairs with a queen bed, TV, and sitting area with bay window making it both a place to sleep and to enjoy some privacy. Perfect for guests, grandparents or a second couple.
The upstairs includes another MBR (the Captain's Quarters) with a private bath along with three other bedrooms. The Dunes has one queen, Pirates Cove has two twin beds and the Garden Room has two twins.

The back patio with outdoor shower and two grills is very private, and the front porch offers views of the Marina and sunsets over the bay.

Fantastic family beach vacation!

We had a terrific week at the Stevenson's home in Bay Head. The house was perfect for our 3 generations of family members - a lot of living space, well-fitted kitchen, and overall very comfortable. The short walk to the beach was easy, and the beaches themselves were beautiful. We appreciated having beach badges and chairs available and made good use of them. The owners were very accessible and helpful, and the information about the house and town were excellent. We'd come back in a heartbeat!

Wonderful house, wonderful stay

We had a fantastic vacation! Barney and Diana are excellent hosts, very responsive and helpful. The house is inviting, clean and well appointed, with a great layout, providing lots of common space for families but also enough bedrooms and bathrooms for privacy as needed. The back sun room was a perfect evening hangout for family game night. The backyard with furniture and grills was perfect for al fresco cooking and dining. The house is also a very easy walk to the beach and stores, allowing for everyone to make their own schedules without dependence on drivers. We will be returning!

Great stay

We had a wonderful 2 week stay at this home in Bay Head for a much needed change of pace and scenery this year. It is perfectly situated—convenient to everything but also quiet and relaxing. The kids loved crabbing off the dock at the end of the street. Grandparents visited for a couple of days and everyone was perfectly comfortable. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone

A charming abode

Me and my friends very much enjoyed our weekend stay at Diane’s property. The house feels well lived in in a good way and it has a fun beach-y vibe. Outdoor areas are lovely and very close to beach and restaurants/shops in town. Would definitely stay again!

Bay Head Cottage

We traveled to Bay Head for a family wedding and our stay was great. Diane was quick to answer our questions as we were not familiar with the area. She was also flexible with our check in time. The location of the cottage was perfect. Because we had a full schedule of wedding activities, we were not able to take full advantage of the beach and the cottage, but we would love to return for another visit.

Not what it seems

We were very disappointed with the rental property in Bay Head NJ. The pictures on the website looked beautiful but on approach, the home is old, weathered, musty, and parts are dangerous. We were there in the middle of a summer heatwave and though the property states is has air contiioning, this consists of individual room air conditioners. These did not provide the amount of coolness you need in a house of this size. When we arrived, the house had not been cleaned properly, as we found food in the refrigerator and uncleaned toilets. Unfortunately, on the first hour of our trip, my mom tripped on a wonky step leading to the kitchen and broke her hip. Though the owners state that this step is up to code, we still think it is dangerous as it is not straight line, but more like a pyramid shape, it’s just not natural looking and you need to make sure you adjust to it. . And there are stairs that lead from the kitchen to the garage where the trash cans are kept, that have a very deep pitch to them and have spaces in between them. More than one of us at the house tripped on those steps. Our vacation turned into a vacation at the local hospital and unfortunately, we did not have a comfortable house to come home to after spending many days at the hospital. We can’t recommend this property.

comfortable stay in charming bay head

The owners were very accommodating and granted us a late check out and welcomed my niece's service dog. The home was comfortable and well stocked. As stated in the listing, it is larger than it appears. It is an easy walk to the beach and to Mueller's Bakery.

Comfortable, attractive, relatively affordable( for Bay Head) place to stay

We are long-time renters in Bay Head who were planning a large family reunion for a special birthday. We needed to rent a second home to house all the guests. This house exceeded our expectations. The five bedrooms were set up perfectly for our group. The three queen bed rooms were exceptionally large and the two twin bed rooms were just fine. The kitchen was modern and well equipped and the sun room and living room nicely furnished. The rear patio was comfortable and private. It was also fun to be near the Yacht Club which is an active place. We heard some good live music in the late afternoon, which was not too loud or obtrusive. The house is convenient to the town of Bay Head and an easy walk to the beach, where our other rental was located. We would recommend this house to anyone seeking to explore Bay Head's charm while also expecting modern conveniences.

Wonderful Stay!

We had a wonderful time at the Stephenson's beach house. We were in Bay Head for a family wedding and easily walked to the beach and the reception at the yacht club. The listing was accurate and the house was spacious and comfortable. My mom, my brother's family and my sister's family all stayed and loved the place. The walk to the beach was charming, the surf was up, and everything was nearby. Don't miss the crumb cake and other goodies from famous Mueller's Bakery. We also enjoyed the real NJ pizza at Nonno Bruno's in Point Pleasant Beach, and breakfast at the newly reopened OB diner. My sister and I loved our hair and makeup that was done by the friendly gals at Salon Mulan in Point Pleasant. Thanks for the lifetime of memories.

Wonderful home, beautiful beach!

We (2 families, each with 3 small children ranging in ages from newborn to 6 years) stayed here over July 4, 2014 and had a wonderful time. We found the owners very accommodating and easy to work with and the house perfect for 2 families - plenty of private sleeping space and an open kitchen/dining area that was wonderful for shared time. The house was just a quick 5-7 min walk (on an adorable walking trail) to the gorgeous beach. Having never spent time in Bay Head, we loved the town--so quaint and pretty. Definitely recommend the bakery in town - delicious! Thanks for a wonderful stay, we hope to return!

Why they chose this property

My family has been vacationing in Bay Head for generations. Its beautiful beaches and numerous activities such as tennis, biking, shopping, restaurants, and the boardwalk keeps our entire family busy and content. As the children got older, they were able to enjoy the freedom of exploring the town on bike or foot safely. Plus its close proximity to NYC, Philadelphia and Newark Airport means friends and family can visit for a day or two making it easy to share in the memories.
Bayhead has a wonderful history and reputation for its family friendly atmosphere. If you are looking for an exciting night life, this is NOT the place.

What makes this property unique

The property is uniquely situated adjoining the town playing fields (great for active kids), a few houses from the yacht club, and a short walk to the beautiful beach, public tennis courts, shopping, playground, and of course Mueller's Bakery. Even the library is only a block away. The back patio is very private, and the front porch offers views of the Marina and sunsets over the bay. For the young and restless, the boardwalk in Point Pleasant is only a 10 minute drive. For the hungry, Teresa's is a great BYOB restaurant two blocks away. And Point Pleasant has a plethora of restaurants to choose from, including seafood right off the boat.
For those needing some privacy and quiet, both the spacious first floor and second floor master bedrooms offer a seating area and TV. Something for all generations.
