Perfect little private cabin

Ann is such a great host, and the cabin is the perfect place to relax and enjoy Maine. If you stay at the cabin make sure to stop at The Lobster Lady just down the road, great people and great food!

This place is even cuter than the pictures show .. the screened in porch was awesome, and the lofted bedroom was a dream. The ride to Acadia is about an hour, and it’s the prettiest hour you’ve ever driven so it’s easy! Highly recommend to anyone who wants to be really out there, off the beaten path, and surrounded by gorgeous nature.

A beautiful cozy cottage with immaculate vibes.

Our stay was serene, and excellent. Communication with the owner was great. Everything we needed to know in order to have a good time, and remain respectful to the property was listed out clearly. I would absolutely recommend staying here to anyone looking for a nice relaxing vacation.

Childless getaway!

Thank you Ann for a great stay! Sedgwick is about an hour from Acadia. Choose to drive out to Acadia and Bar Harbor or just stay nearby and enjoy the cabin. Nearby restaurants were fresh and delicious. View was great.

Fantastic View

this property has an amazing view, and is definitely cozy. i would absolutely stay here again. it has the requisite quietness. and its close to alot of the near by attractions. and the drive to the attractions are all amazing. the property has all the amenities you would expected.

Cozy cabin

Stayed here two nights with my husband and dogs. The property was private and quiet, just what we wanted. Our dogs loved walking the drive. We hiked Blue Hill Mountain and a local preserve. I enjoyed bike riding the Rosier Peninsula and eating at Blaze. This cabin was very fun. Great location with an awesome screened in porch.

Relaxing, comfortable cottage

the cottage was extremely comfortable and homey while having many updated amenities. The host was very responsive to all communications. My spouse, our pet and i loved the screened porch and electric start fireplace. A great place to "just get away" and relax.

A Picture-Perfect Cabin Escape!

Our stay at the cabin was absolutely incredible! The cabin was not only immaculately clean but also spacious and beautifully appointed with all the amenities you could need for a comfortable stay. The attention to detail was impeccable, and everything was thoughtfully arranged. The surroundings were breathtaking, with stunning views that made it feel like we were living in a picture-book setting. It was the perfect place to unwind and enjoy nature, yet still have all the comforts of a well-equipped home. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and will definitely be back!

Great property all the way around!

The check in process was easiest we have had. Host was very quick and gave extra info for things around surrounding areas. House was clean and everything it said it was. Very private. Saw wildlife everyday while sitting on porch and by fire. Only problem for us was we wish we could have found a way to stay longer!!! Definitely would suggest this home to anyone who wants to be in a private setting and enjoy the outdoors. Host also had everything needed even for our pets . Extra sheets, towels, and bowls to make things easier.

Living and running a business in New York City, I could not survive without regular trips to Maine for peace and sanity! My three daughters, now in their 30s, have been going to Maine every year since they were babies and are thrilled to share the beauty of our property with visitors. We hope you'll come to love what we cherish about the Blue Hill peninsula and return again and again.

Why they chose this property

After many years vacationing at nearby Oakland House, we knew we wanted something of our own. And we knew we wanted the view from Caterpillar Hill. That fall, we saw an ad in Downeast: The Magazine of Maine, advertising 12-acre lots for sale. That was all we needed, and we built the house on Robert Knight's architectural plans the next year.

What makes this property unique

My cabin sits on twelve private acres of woods and blueberry fields. The architect designed it to suit the surroundings. You'll see deer cutting across the field to a very small granite quarry in the woods; turkeys, bear, and other animals who were here before any of us. You might not see people at all when you're there, but if you do, rest assured that they're probably friends or neighbors and give them a friendly wave! Mainers are friendly but respect your privacy.
