The property was very clean and beautifully decorated. Comfortable bed and nice shower. Quite close to Wingaersheek Beach, which we visited daily. Close to a cute ice cream stand and great restaurants. The host provided useful information prior to check-in, and the check-in process was smooth. Room for improvement: there was no kitchen trash can or any foil, plastic wrap, or other means of storing food that we could find. When I messaged the owner through the app about this, I never got a response. The owner did leave a personal phone number listed in the kitchen, but I did not feel comfortable messaging from my personal phone, and would have preferred and expected a response through the rental app. There was no door to the bathroom, just a sliding panel, and no hooks or bars to hang towels or clothes from. There were no night stands in the bedroom for personal items (phone/charger/book etc). There were LED lights near the bed, but the remote for one of them did not work, and the light fell apart when I tried to turn it on manually. Also, the owner's primary house was a lot closer to the rental cottage than I expected based on the pictures and the description. I would consider booking again with the addition of more staple kitchen supplies, a way to hang towels and clothes, at least one night stand in the bedroom, and assurances of prompt communication through the rental app.

We did not receive any messages through the VRBO app during your stay, so we were unfortunately unaware of your concerns. We always respond promptly when messages come through, and our direct phone number is also provided in the cottage for immediate assistance. I will also send you a separate screenshot of our VRBO message history, as I did not receive any of the messages referenced in your review. The kitchen trash can is located in the hallway closet. While we provide many starter essentials, we do not supply foil, plastic wrap, or other food storage items. The bedroom features a full-size closet with hanging space and a hamper. The bathroom has a space-saving accordion door, as shown in the listing, and the cottage is a guest house located on our property, which is also clearly described in the listing. The bedside reading lights are magnetic, battery-operated fixtures, and we’ll inspect the one you mentioned. We appreciate your suggestions and will consider them as we continue making improvements for future guests.

Perfect Weekend Spot

The size of the property is perfect for a couple’s getaway. It’s super close to the highway (which my husband noted as a plus) and the host was top tier from the get go. Very communicative and had everything clean and organized from on entering.

We had the greatest stay! It was so clean and just the most adorable cottage. Meg is easy to get in touch with and thought of everything we might need, and even some extra goodies as a special treat. We will definitely stay again when we head back east.

Gloucester and The shore Cottage are Amazing!

We stayed at the Shore Cottage in Gloucester, the space was so beautiful and just enough space for my wife and I. Meghan is truly amazing and worked with us for an early check-in in such a timely manner, we felt so welcomed and truly appreciated our little welcome basket as well as our stay! We had a lovely stay at the Shore Cottage. The place is very well maintained and has all the basics you could need for a short stay. I’d recommend for a couple or family with a small child unless primarily eating out, since there is only 2 stools in the kitchen. There is a small garden where we enjoyed grilling and eating outside when the weather was good as well. Note also that the listing mentions two twin beds in the living room and they are air mattresses not pull out sofas. The owner prepared the mattress and bedding, it was very comfortable for our child. Our kids especially loved Stage Fort Park and it was easy access from the rental.

From the moment I walked into the cottage, I instantly felt at home — I even joked that I wanted to move in! The owner went above and beyond, decorating for my arrival and even leaving a thoughtful gift and card for me, which truly made my stay extra special.The home itself was perfect — neat, spotless, and beautifully maintained. It was fully stocked with everything I could possibly need, making it so easy to just relax and enjoy my time. The location was fantastic, close to everything yet still peaceful and charming.Every detail felt so well thought out, and the warm, welcoming atmosphere made it one of the best stays I’ve ever had. I would absolutely love to come back and highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a comfortable, memorable getaway

Cozy Clean Cottage in Gloucester

My husband and I enjoyed our week stay in this cozy little cabin in Gloucester. It was very clean and comfortable, easy to find, drive to nearby places, and out of the hustle and bustle of a big city. We had everything we needed in the cabin and a nice place to park outside the door. We loved the little gift basket of goodies when we arrived and had items to cook inside. Bed was comfortable and temperature was also. Meg was available if we needed her and we had a wonderful time in Massachusettes for our first time.

Cozy and Comfortable

This property was exactly as advertised. The location was easily accessible and close to local attractions and restaurants. The cottage was beautifully decorated and had all the necessary essentials available. Our host, Megan, was very easy to communicate with and provided detailed instructions on everything we needed to know both in advance and during our stay. Her special little touches throughout the cottage were greatly appreciated including the Welcome snack basket and card. ❤️

Superb property. I don’t usually leave reviews for properties but this place is amazing. We felt welcomed by the host. She even wrote a welcome card with a special message for my wife. Extremely quiet and peaceful area. We walked less than 100 yards to a really good Breakfast Buffet at a charming Victorian Bed and Breakfast right across the street. The house felt brands new. Very clean.

Excellent Cottage Perfect for Couples

This cottage is perfect for couples and single adventurers looking for a clean, well-equipped place to stay central to all the best sights and food of Gloucester. Meghan was quick to respond to our initial booking inquiry and all additional communications. The booking and check-in processes were simple and easy, and navigating to the cottage was a breeze. My partner and I arrived late in the night and Meghan made sure the outside light was left on which made unloading our vehicle so much easier. The cottage was immaculate – extremely clean – and we had a blast discovering various small touches and details placed for guests. The cottage is just a short drive from many Gloucester attractions, restaurants, and activities which made getting to and from the cottage quick and easy. I would highly recommend considering this cottage if traveling with a spouse/partner or solo. Meghan is an excellent host!

Megs place was probably the cleanest VRBO I've been too. She was very responsive and such detail touches to make us feel welcomed. Even through the cottage was in the back of the property we had our own space. Kitchen had essentials but I didn't do any cooking this vacation since our stay was short. The bed was very comfy. The bathroom was a bit small for any one on the larger size. Otherwise good hot water and pressure. Good location to town and beaches. I very rarely go back to a destination but if I were to return I would definitely stay again.
