There is also a full bath with a clawfoot tub/shower unit.
This peaceful home is located near many desirable destinations: a short walk down Causeway Lane leads to the edge of the ocean and historic Mill Dam causeway, across which lies the Causeway Club’s public golf course; for hikers, a short walk beyond the Clubhouse is Flying Mountain with dramatic views of Somes Sound, the East Coast’s only natural fjord. The center of town is a five-minute walk, with restaurants, shops, library, post office, the Wendell Gilley bird-carving museum, and the free Island Explorer bus provides access to many of the beautiful sights for which Acadia National Park is renowned. Beal’s Lobster Pier is a ten minute walk; there, at the Captain’s Galley, you may order a lobster dinner to eat on their picnic tables overlooking Southwest Harbor, or you may purchase lobsters and seafood to cook at home. Bar Harbor is a twenty-minute drive with many shops, restaurants and museums, and Acadia National Park Headquarters there provides educational programs and literature on scenic areas throughout the Park.

A charming and historic home with plenty of room and all the conveniences. Our hosts were most helpful and responsive, and we would highly recommend this home to others.
Singing Hill is the perfect Maine summer cottage! We stayed with a group of friends for our wedding and it was an ideal setting. Quaint, comfortable, with a porch made for relaxing with friends.
This is the most lovely Maine “Cottage”, but it has plenty of space and a huge covered porch where we spent alot of our time. So many happy memories made here!
We were in Southwest Harbor for a week staying at the house and it was a wonderful property and location. It had everything we needed for our family and while it is dated it is cozy as well!
Less than a mile from the center of Southwest, a pleasant walk. The house has everything anyone might need along with a beautiful porch with relaxing furniture. We loved it!
This is an amazing house in a fantastic location. Lots of cool stuff nearby. Beds were very comfortable. We loved the fireplace. Hosts were very friendly and easy to reach. Would definitely rent again.
The house is lovely nestled in an established neighborhood. It has a beautiful covered front porch, original woodwork and fireplace. It is nicely furnished, very homey with spices, paper and cleaning supplies. This is a great house for 2 families. It has both an eat in kitchen and dining room. We appreciated the option of the downstairs bedroom and bath for our parents.
We loved this home! It was our home away from home for a week! We cooked, enjoyed puzzles, built a fire, napped on the porch, and laughed. There were 7 of us and we had plenty of space. The home was just as described. We had one small issue and the response to have it checked was quick. I highly recommend for your stay in Bar Harbor!

Thank you for your great review! We love it, too. My husband grew up in the house. His Dad, Elmer L Beal senior owned Beal's Lobster Pier, then Ken's brother Sam owned it and after Sam passed away, it was sold to the present owner. Ken has retired from the National Marine Fisheries Service which took us to Virginia and Maryland and then to MA.
This home is in a great location. We could walk to the little town which has several excellent restaurants and local artist gift shops. Easy drive to Bar Harbor and Acadia NP. The house is clean and spacious enough for the 7 adults in our group. If you have trouble with stairs, there is a daybed on the main floor. Otherwise all beds are upstairs. Host was very accommodating.
We very much enjoyed our stay. The house had plenty of room and very much enjoyed eating dinner on the porch. It was fun to walk down to the causeway after dinner and watch the sun set. We preferred staying in Southwest harbor because it was less crowed than bar harbor. Great hikes and swimming in Eco lake were within 15 min drive.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful Arts & Crafts home. Very spacious and a large porch for relaxing. Loved that it was tucked away but also convenient to the Main St. It was well equipped and loved the large stone fireplace on cool nights. Will definitely return

Check our 2023 calendar - July and August are already full......
Our family of four (2 adults, 2 kids under 10) rented for two weeks. We had another family join us for the first week (2 adults, 2 kids) and family join us for the second (4 adults). It was perfect for both arrangements. The yard and yard games and the deck were real highlights. Access to the causeway was so great. Would definitely rent again.
This house just feels like Maine! It has everything you need to be comfortable, plus ambiance galore. The porch is huge and wonderful for hanging out, even in a rain storm, as it is deep and covered. We hated to leave! The location is fantastic- a short walk to working harbor, Beals Lobster Pound, Southwest Harbor, and “ The causeway”.

We had a family reunion with our 5 grown kids and the house accommodated us so comfortably. The kitchen was fully stocked. There were plenty of towels. The neighborhood is peaceful and you can walk into southwest harbor town. There is a working fireplace, and the porch with the hammock was the icing on the cake! I could go on and on. Definitely a perfect stay!!!
This is a spacious and lovely home with plenty of room to spread out. The porch is a wonderful place for informal meals or to relax and read a book in one of the comfortable chairs or in the hammock. The home has an old world charm and is equipped with everything you could want or need. I love to cook and everything I needed was there from pots and pans to a drawer of spices and even a salad spinner..
