We had a great 2 weeks. Swimming, sunbathing chilling out and enjoying family. Very nice property, folks are friendly and the hosts are very responsive. We hope to go again next year.
Large beautiful Lake with excellent kayaking and fishing. Cabin well supplied and very clean. Owners very friendly and helpful. Spectacular Sunsets with campfire on Lake.
A lovely little summer community. There are several small houses spaced far enough apart for privacy, but close enough for comfort and interaction if you want. For our visit, the lake was lovely, but not really swimmable because of the drought. Is a remote location, so very good for those who are looking to unplug and relax. It is not close to “attractions.” Probably a good place for kids as well as adults who are looking for a real break. The little house is fairly new and in good shape. Quite clean. The owners are lovely people, and when we asked for particular cooking items, they were happy to supply them!
Angell Cove was the rest we needed after a crazy Covid year!! The cottage was clean and had everything we needed.. right down to water shoes and a bucket to have by the campfire. A morning cup of tea in the most adorable owl mug sitting at the picnic table looking at the lake and listening to the loons, birds and chipmunks.
Adventures to the islands on kayaks, fishing and lots of board games with the family! Dinner at Fast Eddies was so fun for the kids and adults! Looking forward to returning again!
Property located on a sandy beach with a beautiful lake. Many opportunities for fishing, kayaking and swimming. Great outdoor system to reduce encounters with mosquitos and bugs. Very clean, well stocked cabin. Nice set up for family gatherings and meals. Hiking trail and fire pit were enjoyed experience. Pet friendly. Pet owners friendly and responsible with pets. Very close to washer and dryer. Family had a great time would highly recommend.Kelly was very attentive and was easy to reach
This property is beautiful - beautiful sunsets and changing lake views. We enjoyed walking around the roads. Cottage had everything we needed. Good, close grocery locations. Discovered “A Small Town Bakery” with gluten-free options in nearby Wayne. Plenty of towels, sheets and blankets for our stay, as well as games, movies and children’s toys. Loved the rinnai for those cold mornings. Washer/dryer on premises. Only suggestion - microwave was old and hard to figure out and should probably be replaced. Wonderful place to stay.
We enjoyed our second trip back to Owl cottage! It rained almost every day and we still managed to have a great time. The internet worked so well compared to the year before a wonderful improvement, which was much appreciated when we needed it. I brought a few supplies from home but kitchen is very well equipped! Otherwise towels, sheets, life jackets, kayaks and everything you might need! Would come again. Thanks for so many wonderful memories in this peaceful happy place.

So glad you had a great time. You were awesome guests and we would love to have you back at any time!
We escaped to the lake for a wonderful weekend away from Portland. The Cabin was very clean and provided all linens and towels we did bring some of our own though. Kitchen was great and has everything you need. Plenty of water shoes/lift vests + kayaks to enjoy the lake. My kids love the little toy cars they had in the cabin. The internet basically is nonexistent just fyi. So if you are planning to work there you may need to adjust. Lovely place, super quiet, only the sounds of loons at night! Would stay again!

While the internet is not the fastest, it should not be nonexistent. I wish I had been contacted to see if there was an issue that may have been slowing things down. However, glad everything else was great! Great guests to have!

Heaven on earth
The cabin was lovely. The view of the lake was breathtaking. Having the ability to kayak was wonderful. The only thing I didn't really like is that my elderly Mother and 2 aunts had a difficult time getting up the stairs and hill leading into the cottage. If it weren't for my sister's help, it would have been impossible for them to get into the water. They did manage to go "swimming" everyday, but the lake is so shallow, that it was hard to even float with noodles. But they enjoyed themselves, non the less. Thank you for everything. That cabin would be perfect for me and my husband.

Thank you for being awesome guests. I did mention that there may be access issues when I realized the age of some of the guests during the booking process. As far as the water, it is typically shallow, but depending on the weather it does fluctuate, so it was probably shallower than usual:( I am glad they enjoyed themselves, they seemed to be excited when we went over and met them the first day.
We very much enjoyed the cottage. We came to Androscoggin Lake to fish and it did not disappoint. We caught White fish, perch, crappie, and northern (pickerel). Neighbors also staying in the cottage group report they frequently catch bass. There is good fishing structure in the lake and places to get out of the wind if need be.
From a people standpoint… it was EXTREMELY quiet (except for the occasional loon call). There was a lovely beach, the bottom is rocky (and therefore not weedy) with a gradual walk-in to the water, and the water was surprisingly warm (78 to 80° ) for the beginning of July in Maine. The floating dock accommodated our 18’ boat with no problem and there was plenty of room to park our boat trailer on the property. There was a playground and great lawn space if you are a game playing family. A volleyball net was set up. The owner always responded immediately to all inquiries.
The listing said lake-front, kayaks, swimming, hiking, on a private cove, but it didn't say the ultimate quiet with only the lapping of the lake on the shore, birds to listen to (apart from my family members), farm stands just a short drive away with fresh produce, the most amazingly shining local organic strawberries that were so sweet and lasted for days in the fridge without showing their age. We were nervous about the bugs, but surprisingly the cabin contained no bugs, not one other than the errant mosquito that snuck with us. The window screens were super tight. The lake - we have been all over the world, seen lakes from California, Colorado, Nevada, New York, and Europe - this lake is something special. You will have to see it to believe it. It truly belongs in the things to see before you die in our opinion. If you are looking for a vacation with all the benefits of being in the wild, without the wild and close to civilization, but not too close to you - then this is it. Book and enjoy!

A Beautiful, Well-kept Cottage with an Outstanding Lake-front View!
The six of us (my wife and I, 2 kids and my parents), stayed at Owl Cottage for 3 nights. Kelly was a terrific host, friendly, great communication and answered all of our questions immediately. Her cottage is a beautiful, clean and very comfortable space that provided plenty of room for the 6 of us. The pictures on the listing do not do the space justice. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen space was clean and easily accessible with all of the necessities required for preparing breakfasts and we even baked a birthday cake! It did get a little chilly at night as expected for this time of year in Maine and the new heater that was installed worked perfectly and warmed the place up quickly. I cannot say enough about the view, Lake Androscoggin is right out your front door and Kelly provides kayaks and water safety gear (unfortunately we did not have time to enjoy them!). Enjoying coffee and the spectacular view of the lake with the splendid Fall colors really helped make our stay even better. We were only here briefly to visit my Aunt who lives locally, but I can totally see this place being terrific for a longer vacation. We are already planning to come back next year! Thank you, Kelly!!!
Best,
Peter

Peter & family,
So glad you all enjoyed the stay! You were great guests and we would love to have you stay with us next year!
Thanks!
Kelly
The description is spot on; however, we thought it would be more private from the photos. The cottage has an overlook of the lake and is nestled in with several other cottages. We had wi-fi issues and the mattress in the downstairs bedroom wasn’t very comfortable
There is a nice sandy beach great for families. A little to cold for us to wade in with the cool October weather. We enjoyed the hikes around the area.
Had a great week-long stay at this lovely little cabin. Highlights were using the kayaks on the lake and spotting lots of avian creatures (including bald eagles that are nesting on a nearby island.) Also, sitting by the lake in the evening and making use of the firepit was lovely.
Cabin was great for two people and doggie. Kitchen was well-equipped, though there was a lack of cabinet space for food and cutting boards. Internet was spotty and slow. To be fair, we didn't mention it to the hosts - perhaps the issue could have been resolved. Hosts were very nice and answered all of my questions in a timely manner, so all in all it was a great stay at a lovely spot!
we had beautiful weather. kayaked, lots of fishing, swimming, cookouts, campfires, gorgeous sunsets. our cabin was everything we could have asked for. would totally stay there again.
The cabin was very clean and decorated in Owl theme. Communication with the owner was exceptional and the view was beautiful. Had a great time kayaking and it was very convenient that they supplied 2 kayaks!

Thank you so much! You were wonderful guests and we would love to have you back any time!
From start to finish the communication with the owners was prompt and consistent. We had zero issues with not being well informed of our agreement and the access to the cabin. We were able to meet Peter personally while we were there (that man has a strong, honest handshake!). The property was well organized and spotless clean! The views of the lake and mountains were spectacular! We as a family have zero complaints or items in mind to make any negative reviews on! We would definitely rent this property again and discussed doing so come next summer!

Awesome guests! The cottage was in good hands while they were there! Would love to have them stay with us again!
We really enjoyed our stay at cabin #5 . The view of the lake was wonderful ! The cabin was like a home away from home equipped with everything you would need for your stay. The fishing was good and we had fun using the kayaks to explore the lake areas.
As a young family of 6 with four kids of varying ages, as old as 11 and as young as 1.5, it is hard to find the perfect summer camp that makes everyone happy.
This place hit a major homerun across the board. The cottage itself was perfectly clean and well supplied. The shallow water was perfect for our younger kids and the older kids loved being able to walk far out for fishing.
Having our OWN kayaks specific to our cottage was amazing as well.
Can’t say enough good things and we will likely return!
Cottage was equipped with everything you would need! We loved using the kayaks on the lake and sitting in the adirondack chairs enjoying the breeze and peacefulness of Maine. A great stay!!
