Easy check in and even had a early check in time with no extra cost. We stayed here while in town for our sons wedding and had 6 men stay there with plenty of rooms and bathrooms. I highly recommend for any occasions or just to get away.

Thank you for the kind review. We were happy to be part of your special day!
This property is well maintained and clean. We came down to fish for the weekend and is close to Chester Frost, and has many restaurants close by. I will definitely book in the future. Tana is a great host and has a great home.
We came down to visit family. This home was perfect for our family. Everyone had their own bedroom. We did share the bathroom, but there is an additional shower downstairs, and a half bath in one of the bedrooms. The hostess was great at communication. She was also a sweet lady. We would stay here again!

Shelly you and your family were a pleasure to host! Please come again any time and thank you for the kind review.
The property was convenient to our activities and met our needs. The fire pit, firewood and fire starter were a nice touch. The game room was a nice feature. Communication with property owner was A! We would book again.
The property was awesome and had lots of nice little things provided by the host like universal phone chargers. It was clean and exactly as pictured. The downstairs game area was perfect for us to play board games! The host was very kind and responsive. It was just a short trip to Chattanooga to visit the aquarium and other fun things. I would absolutely recommend this place!!
We were in town to visit family and to celebrate the life of my sister in law. Big Oak Lodge made it possible for us to stay together as a family. It was a great location. Quiet area. We were able to have family join us and enjoyed the games fire pit grill air hockey and the overall home. Our host Tanna was quick to respond with and concerns. Great place.

Thank you Ann for the rave review. I am very glad the house was just what you needed in your time of sadness. You are welcome any time!
The host was wonderful! She was very attentive and friendly. The house was perfect for our needs, close to family and things to do. The kids loved playing air hockey and running around at the playgrounds across the street (jungle gyms on other side of school too)! We enjoyed the fire pit - wood and fire starters worked perfectly! Beds were so comfy, nobody wanted to wake up in the mornings and we had such sound sleeps. We would recommend this place to others and would have no qualms about staying again! Thank you, Tanna!
We were very pleased with Big Oak Lodge. The balcony off the kitchen and fire pit were especially big hits for the entire family. We found the kitchen well equipped with pots & pans, cooking utensils, dishes and silverware. There were plenty of bath towels for all seven of us.
Our seven grandchildren spent much of their time in the game room. The large table allowed them to play board games and work on jigsaw puzzles together.
Property owner was always helpful and responsive.
The property itself is decently nice. However, I’m certain they’ve had some pretty bad guests in the past. EVERYTHING around the home is labeled with directions on what to do and NOT to do (shut the fridge all the way, don’t cut directly on countertops, wash towels in this order, and many more). There were also many threats to charge you if you did or didn’t do things. I likely wouldn’t stay here again just because I felt like I was going to mess something up. Location is fairly close to downtown Chattanooga. Just my thoughts as a frequent VRBO user!

The sarcastic heading in the review was unneeded and unfair. There are not MANY threats to charge guests if you do or don't do something so please take this review with a grain of salt if you are considering staying here. It is so hard to please everybody. In the past I have had guests say "it would be nice to have helpful notes telling us how to use things" so I provide the notes and now I am being judged for providing the helpful notes. We have never had any bad guests at all. The purpose of the notes are to be helpful. If you look at prior reviews there are guests that say how much they appreciate all the helpful notes. Most of the notes are to help guests know how to use things such as how to turn on the TV, how to turn on the air hockey table, how to set the AC thermostat, etc. It is very costly to repair AC units, cook tops, towels, and other items that guests misuse out of ignorance so this is the reason we try to offer help so that guests will not damage things and then be charged for errors that could have been avoided.
Lastly, none of the notes in the house affected the quality of their stay. It is very sad to me that nothing was said about the clean, cozy home that was provided along with the many free things included in their stay. These are the things that are important to me as a host and these are the things that I will keep concentrating on to insure all guests have a 5 star stay. So if you want a clean, cozy, convenient to things house with many free things provided and a proactive host then please book Big Oak Lodge and that is what you will get. The many many 5 star reviews will back this promise up.
Was in town with a other family for fishing. Place worked well for us and really enjoyed the game room downstairs. Driveway is quite steep but knew that going in. There was ample room behind the house to pull our boat around to re-rig, cover, charge, etc. Coming down the hill to leave with the boat we needed to take it at an angle so the trailer did not bottom out (21 foot skeeter). But doing that it ended up working very well for us. Would stay again.
Very close to grocery store which was very nice.
Host was very responsive and had great communication.

Sloping driveways and yards are a common thing around here in the Chattanooga area. As the pictures show the driveway is a gradual slope and does not cause any issues to our guests. We appreciate your review that reassures other boaters that the driveway is functional. Thank you and come again any time!

I am at a total loss why this review is only 3 stars and the guest left no feedback whatsoever to substantiate its validity. The guest did not communicate any issues at all during their stay even when I checked in with her the first day. I am hoping this is a mistake and the review will be amended. I have never received a review below five stars so this is very disheartening to say the least. Thank you, Tanna
