We absolutely loved staying here while getting our daughter settled at UA. The place was cozy, easy, and stress‑free from start to finish. The pool was a total highlight—beautiful, refreshing, and exactly what we needed after running around campus all day. The hosts were kind, responsive, and made the whole experience effortless. We’d stay again in a heartbeat.

We had such a great stay. The home was even nicer than the pictures appeared. The pool and backyard area were stunning. The kitchen was stocked with great cookware. The location was great for getting around town. Though we found the property so nice that we really didn't need to go anywhere else. We would happily stay again here when in Tucson. Such a great experience.

Great place to stay

We had a great weekend stay. The house was very comfortable, with a really nice remodeled kitchen. Quiet neighborhood, that was just down the road from U of A.

If I had to suggest something; an egg slicer would be good. LOL I found the house had everything and then some. Most people probably don't make egg salad so I wouldn't list that as a negative. The pool was great!!!

The kitchen was great with new appliances . It was definitely upgraded. The back yard was really wonderful traveling with out fur babies. Also the kitchen was very well stocked. Beds were very comfortable and they had plenty of towels which was great. I appreciated the vanity in the bath room being a bit larger.

Perfect place for a U of A visit

This cute little house was exactly as advertised. Host provided detailed check-in/check-out instructions. Parking was easy (and mostly shaded!). Loved having my very own pool :) Would definitely stay again when in Tucson.

Completely darling

This property is exactly as advertised - adorable, well situated, and the owners are very responsive. It’s an older bungalow on the smallish size (much like the house I grew up in), but perfectly big enough for our needs. I have spent up to 2 weeks at a stretch here and it’s my Tucson go-to favorite.

Everything was as advertised and it was a very nice place to hang my hat for 5 days. Neighborhood was kind of funky and fun. If the pool could have been a couple degrees warmer I’d have no complaints at all. Would stay here again!

First time staying at this VRBO and it was great! Very clean, inside and out, including the grounds and pool. Comfortable furniture. Safe neighborhood. One block to Eegee’s, a local sub sandwich place with cold slushies. There’s an upscale hot-pot there, too.It’s 1 block from the #4 SunTran, which connects with the #25 SunTran line to the Tucson Airport. #4 also connects quickly to U of Arizona campus. SunTran is free.It’s about 1 miles from Fry’s Grocery, which seems to be part of the Kroger grocery chain.

The house was ok. The television was very old in the front room and did not work well with the remote, but that was not that serious. What is scary is the security system. ALL of the doors lock together and when I was in the backyard I got locked outside as I had left my phone in the house. There is NO exit from the backyard as all gates are padlocked and I was locked out from 3:15 until 10:15 at night when my son came home from work. This could have been disasterous as I am 70 and it was in the 100's. I could have had a medical emergency and only could have gotten in from breaking a door or window. This is also illegal, there HAS to be a way out of backyard. In addition, the last day the inside alarm kept going off. I am more concerned about the safety more than anything. The backyard was lovely, the host was very responsive, the house was equipped with all that we needed, the beds were incredible but this WAS a scary situation.

Guest safety and comfort are our top priorities, and our systems meet all applicable safety standards. This guest called the home “delightful” even after the incident, enjoying the well-equipped kitchen, incredible beds, and the lovely backyard and pool. She reached out several times during her stay, and we responded promptly each time, keeping her updated as we addressed concerns. Please not her lock-out occurred when the back door lock was engaged by her pressing a key while she was outside, without the code or a phone — not from a previously used “all doors lock together” setting, which had actually been disabled before her arrival. We reviewed the situation immediately, confirmed that setting was inactive, and have since added an exterior call button for emergencies. A previously removed security sensor was accidentally disturbed by the guest and reactivated; we provided quick instructions to bypass it and ultimately had it removed from the system entirely. The living room TV has also been upgraded with a Roku device and new remotes. While not every vacation rental setup is right for every guest, Casa Allan James remains a safe, comfortable Tucson getaway for those who enjoy modern conveniences alongside the charm of a private pool home.
