Sandy Beach Lakefront Near Crystal Mountain with Kayaks and Pedal Boat


This 4-bedroom, 2-bath home was built in 2004 and offers approximately 2,000 square feet of comfortable living space. The interior features maple hardwood flooring, ceramic tile, tongue-and-groove pine, and relaxed cottage-style décor.

The layout was designed with families in mind, offering separate spaces for adults and children so everyone can enjoy time together without feeling crowded.

We never charge host fees, cleaning fees, pet fees (up to two dogs), or extra guest fees.

THE HOME
The great room includes an HD TV with Roku, a DVD player, and a DVD library, making it a comfortable gathering space for movie nights and downtime after a day outdoors.

One of the bunk bedrooms features a game table, board games, an HD TV with Roku, and a PlayStation 2 with games. This space is ideal for kids and teens and keeps entertainment contained to a family-friendly area.

THE LAKE AND BEACH
The Beach House sits on all-sports Upper Herring Lake and offers 80 feet of private sandy beach frontage, located just 40 feet from the back deck. This is a rare setup that allows easy access to the water without stairs or long walks.

Guests often enjoy swimming, relaxing on the shore, and watching wildlife — including the occasional bald eagle that nests nearby.

Kayaks (May 1 through November 1)
Pedal boat (April 1 through November 15)
Dock (mid-May through November 1)

SEASONAL NOTES
Fireplace available Thanksgiving through April 1.
For winter stays, an all-wheel-drive vehicle or front-wheel-drive vehicle with good snow tires is strongly recommended.

WHAT WE PROVIDE
A starter supply of paper goods and soap products is provided and is typically sufficient for a two-night stay for smaller groups.

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Load and start the dishwasher
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys
1. Start first load of laundry (can be either linens or towels). 2. Wipe excessive spills on surfaces.
3. Return furniture to original places. Please leave inside furniture inside and outside furniture outside. 4. Clean and empty the BBQ grill into provided ash can only.
5. Clean up after pets (including HAIR IN HOME (and "doo-doo" in yard).
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Check out list: -Start a load of laundry -Wash dishes & put away -Put back furniture that was moved -Trash out to receptacle -Clean all dog hair & poo
Smoking damages the the home. If smoking has occurred inside the home, there will be a $200-$500 Cleaning Repair Fee depending on the level of damage.

The view of the lake- the comfort of the home- ( only thing I’d suggest is maybe another lamp in the sunken living room- home had more than enough space- beds were amazingly comfortable and did i mention the view of the lake-

Great family-friendly home in a great location on a quiet lake. Close to downtown Frankfort, Lake Michigan, and not far from Sleeping Bear Dunes. Kitchen is well stocked with a fantastic view of the lake from the dining area and living room. We would definitely stay here again!

Charming Lakefront Cabin

Great views and location! 6 adults were very comfortable at this property. I imagine it’s really wonderful in the Summer. We chose this cabin due to its proximity to Crystal Mountain and Caberfae for snow skiing!

Perfect cottage on a beautiful lake!

The Beach House has tons of space, two big bathrooms, a great kitchen and dining area, and a wonderful private beach. We took pontoon rides nightly and fished constantly. The towns of Frankfort and Beulah made for great day trips. We highly recommend this home!

Lovely winter escape

We stayed for a mid week winter break to do some skiing at nearby Crystal Mountain. The house is perfectly located just 18 minutes from the ski resort and ten minutes from stores and restaurants. Lovely hone in excellent condition and super clean. Beautiful views across the lake Quiet neighborhood that feels very cared for and safe. The house has everything you need and the movie selection was an added bonus. Highly recommend the movie Secondhand Lions!! It was a very relaxing stay and being able to bring our dogs along made it especially nice.

3-Day Getaway

We needed a quick getaway after Christmas and decided to go skiing at Crystal Mountain with another family. This house on Upper Herring Lake was perfect for two families. Kids stayed in bedrooms with bunkbeds and adults split the other 2 rooms. As mentioned by everyone else, the views looked amazing. It was winter for us, but you could tell the location on the lake was ideal. The primary suite upstairs had a sitting area and the best view of the lake. The "gaming" equipment was old and outdated, but this didn't bother the adults. We spent most of the day skiing and were able to have meals together in the big kitchen/dining area. The house was comfortable and the layout suited us well. Thanks for a last mintute getaway that we will remember always.

We had a wonderful time at the beach house! We went a couple days after Christmas and it was still decorated. The house was super clean and had everything we needed. The lake was beautiful, even though it was icy and snowy. And the location was close to downtown Frankfort and an easy drive to Sleeping Bear. We definitely recommend staying here and would come back again.
