About this property
Cozy Converted Barn on Secluded 6.5 acres with Hot Tub
Spend the month, week or weekend in a beautiful rustic converted barn on 6.5 very private sunny country acres with southerly long-range views of Mt. Anthony and the Bennington Monument. Wander the park-like trails through 4 acres of old apple orchard and woodland. Enjoy a soak under the stars in a 6-person hot-tub with total privacy. Why get a bed and breakfast when you can have a house and land all to yourself? This vacation rental is located in southwestern Vermont, less than 12 minutes from downtown Bennington (but still feels very quiet and secluded). Pick apples, bird-watch, and view other wildlife like deer, grouse, wild turkeys, rabbits, Lynx, and Bob-cats. Excellent fly fishing on the nearby Battenkill river. Attend the summer horse shows in nearby Manchester. Enjoy the world-famous Vermont fall foliage. Watch the flowers bloom in the spring. Ski or snowshoe in the winter. Enjoy a bon-fire in the back-yard. Five major ski areas are located within an hour's drive. House is fully furnished and has slate shower, bear-claw bath tub, NEW gas cooking stove (top end model), microwave, refrigerator, dish washer, bread maker, waffle maker, cable, DVD/VCR, and wireless internet, plus two wood stoves and free wood to keep you warm at night (There's also central air heating and a mini-split heating and cooling system to keep you comfortable no matter the weather). There's a large downstairs master bedroom with its own gas stove/fireplace for ambiance and extra heat. There is a living room, dining area, and another small room that could sleep 2 with large electric blowup mattress on site. A spiral staircase leads up to a large loft with a full-sized spring mattress futon. There's also a love seat that pulls out into a double size bed. The house can accommodate up to 7 people depending on the sleeping arrangements. The first 2 guests of the party are not charged an extra guest fee. The barnhouse was actually part of a large picturesque Vermont farm just up the dirt road (and view-able from some parts of the property) until it was rolled down on logs and converted into a house some years ago.

Great spot for a weekend getaway. Well stocked kitchen. Wood stove was great keeping the place warm during extreme temps. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Very private too!
The hosts have really done a wonderful job in their barn conversion. Every area of it is cozy and warm, and put together rather nicely. The antiques on the wall and the bathtub with a large window to look out at the expansive property made it feel especially homey. It was also a really thoughtful touch to provide wood, as there are so many places around the property to light a great fire, both inside and out.
House and property are beautiful. Pictures don’t do it justice. Very private and quiet yet close to restaurants and stores. House was immaculate and the old beams and the wood from the original barn really adds to the charm.
This property is absolutely gorgeous inside and out! It is very secluded with beautiful grounds, the inside is bigger than I was expecting and perfectly decorated to give off the secluded mountain cabin vibe, plus the wood stove is perfect. Lars was extremely nice and easy to communicate with, we will definitely stay again!
It’s hard to describe how lovely, cozy, unique and peaceful this place is. It’s the perfect spot for slow mornings with coffee and a spectacular view, wooded paths to explore, a cozy campfire, and star-gazing from the hot tub. Lars is a thoughtful and responsive host who has anticipated every need and question. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home!
We really enjoyed our stay. Everything we needed. Plenty of space. The hot tub was definitely a plus. Lars was very helpful and got back to us right away. I highly recommend !!!
We had such a wonderful time at the cozy converted barn house! It was very clean and comfortable with everything we needed. We were so happy to bring our dog along as well, who had the time of his life. We couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful stay!
We had a really wonderful stay! Lars was very responsive and kind. The property was wonderful! Our senior Saint Bernard really loved exploring all the trails and we loved the hot tub. The house was clean and well stocked. Would definitely stay here again!
