My family of 4 plus our dog stayed here for a quick overnight stop while travelling between NC and MI, and for a visit to the nearby Flight 93 National Memorial. The location was perfect for us - close to Ligonier for restaurants but in a rural area, so it was very quiet. The house itself was fine for our needs - "no frills" is a very good description. The furniture is in pretty rough shape and the master bedroom only has a full-size bed, not a queen (our fault for not reading closely), so we split up for the night since there are multiple twin beds. There were some cleanliness issues - food pieces in the fridge, hair in the shower, etc., but overall it was adequate for a quick one night stay.
Great area close to Idlewild park. Nice area. Good communication with host. Checking in my son slipped on steps due to slippery mildew so I scrubbed them before the little ones came. Grass was recently mowed but looked like a hayfield. Home was very dirty with very worn furniture. We stayed because we had other family at other rentals we were meeting. We made it work but will not go back
The grass wasn’t cut. There were piles of trash in the garage. The entire house smelt like mildew. The one couch looked like it had mold on it. The other couch had a cover on it. We were afraid to look underneath but you could feel the boards in the couch when you sat on it. Once we discovered the mold we stopped sitting on the couches entirely. We moved the desk to make the table bigger and there was all kinds of trash and dust bunnies underneath. Dust everywhere. The towels in the bathroom looked used. Overall, this was the worst place I’ve ever stayed. The one star is for the deer. That was the only good thing about the house
Small home but comfortable and nice. Stayed one night to attend a funeral in Ligonier. Very good price and easy access to/from Ligonier. Would recommend for similar circumstances.
The place was super clean and exactly as advertised. They also provided about 7-8 full size bath towels and a ton of extra blankets which was a nice surprise. It was a little chilly when we got there but it warmed up quickly. Overall very pleased with our stay and would recommend!!
We were very happy with our stay! The home is in a great location and was exactly what we were looking for. The host was friendly and responsive. We would definitely stay again!
My wife and I took one our kids (and her spouse) and three grandkids under 5 to Idlewild. This was the perfect location in relation to the park. It "lives" bigger than it looks from the outside (although we didn't use the kitchen). The furniture is worn, but nothing was broken or unsafe. And the house was very clean. Only recommendation for the host would be a clear (and maybe lit) house number. We arrived after dark, and although the GPS was spot on, its always nevous opening an unfamiliar door after dark.Planning another adventure with another child / grandchild combination and would not hesitate to book again.
The location is fantastic! We loved the walkable roads and the proximity to Linn Run State Park, Ligonier, and Ohiopyle. The property itself needed a little bit of attention—cleanliness and minor maintenance were both issues. The kitchen is really well appointed and we appreciated that fact!

This house is very close to nature, easy to find and access is smooth. Unfortunately for us the positives ended there. The State Park located nearly next door lended itself to some beautiful sights, from the nearly constant flow of deer in the yard to the waterfall just a couple minutes up the road. We loved that portion, and both stars in our rating are from that access to nature. The house, unfortunately is just not in ready to host condition. It certainly has that potential with a little work, but it is not ready to rent as it sits. The freezer is missing the lower drawer, making it very challenging to put stuff in from the cooler. The couch nearly ingested three members of my group, as they sat and nearly sank to the floor. The beds were not comfortable (to be fair, this could be preference of the person sleeping in them, though none your group was able to get much sleep on them.) The shower was a little rough, but worked. Other than using the fridge and freezer as mentioned above, we didn't utilize kitchen, so we have no input there. I'll admit it was questionable as to whether to leave the review or not, as I prefer to leave great reviews to help build folks up. I the end, I would have liked to have seen this information before we booked and we'd have likely chosen a different location. As I said, I can see tons of potential for the site and wish the host nothing but success, it just needs some work to make it a reasonable rental property. *No bugs in house!
2 large does greeted us upon our arrival. We saw several other deer in the yard all through the evening. It has a cozy little living room where we sat and chatted for hours. Beds were comfortable. We didn’t use the kitchen at all. There is some awesome art on the walls and a vast record collection. Wish there had been a record player to enjoy them.

Extremely Homey
The host made check in a breeze. There were plenty of games and books available. There were a bit too many personal items in the home that made things a bit less comfortable and the furniture was pretty worn. I didn't notice the listing said pet friendly so that was my mistake.
