First the positive. Palmer Lake is a nice community and the hosts were nice and responsive to issues we had. Now the negatives: first, the “trailside cottage” title is misleading. Where is the “trail”? The house is on a city street surrounded in every direction by other houses. The move in instructions from VRBO contained incorrect WiFi name and incorrect password. The living room TV did not work and required a software update by the host, which should have been done before our arrival. The only comfortable furniture in the house was in the basement, which was virtually unusable because of a strong damp and musty odor. There was no remote control for the TV in the basement. The old wooden floors were very creaky and noisy. The lone bathroom was small with no counter space. Overall, it was a very poor value for the price charged.

Hi Doug, I'm so sorry that was your experience. The trail is a short walk to the reservoir trail head. We did correct the Wifi information as soon as we were made aware we had it recorded incorrectly in one spot on the website. I'm sorry the TVs had a software update pushed out following our clean. That's just something we can't predict. All other issues mentioned have been addressed and fixed, other than adding a new bathroom. Thanks for bringing these concerns to our attention.
