About this property

Tall, Dark and Handsome 2BR in historic Irvington

Situated in the heart of Irvington’s historic district, Sawyer Crossing features striking industrial design, outfitted with quality leather furnishings and thoughtful attention to detail. An updated duplex with two bedrooms and one bathroom, the home is set up with a generously stocked kitchen, so you have the option to cook meals and brew fresh coffee during your stay. Stroll the brick lined streets of Irvington and discover the local shops, restaurants, and coffee houses.

Sawyer Crossing features beautifully restored hardwood floors, high ceilings, original wood trim and solid hardwood interior doors. Each space has been thoughtfully outfitted to make your stay comfortable, cozy, and relaxing. The house is designed to accommodate six guests.

The main floor features an amply stocked kitchen, a coffee nook, an in unit washer and dryer that guests can use during their stay, a full bathroom, a dining room set with six seats, a Crosley record turntable and a vinyl collection, a stack of interactive board and card games, and a cozy, inviting living room set up with a 65 inch television - the perfect space to relax.

Two upstairs bedrooms - including a master bedroom with a king bed and a desk, a second bedroom with two twin trundle beds - are outfitted with memory foam mattresses that provide support and comfort. Each bedroom has a 55 inch TV, and we provide sound machines to help promote restful sleep, and drown out noise from the occasional passing trains and the ambient city sounds.

Finally, there is a fenced backyard that is shared with the other side of the duplex. The back lot includes a fire pit area with outdoor seating.

Enjoy the walkability of Irvington - local restaurants, coffee houses, taprooms and cocktail lounges, shops and bookstores, are all just up the street from the Sawyer Crossing townhouse. Amble along the Pennsy Trail and grab a flaky pastry from Landlocked, pick up a robust coffee from Coal Yard, savor a slice of upper crust pizza from Jockamo’s, or try a hearty skillet breakfast at Lincoln Square.

Downtown Indy is a mere 15 minute drive away - discover the fun shops and food offerings in Fountain Square, Mass Ave, the Bottleworks district, and enjoy a leisurely Canal walk. Whether you’re settling in for a weekend visit, planning to stick around to see the sights, or just passing through, Sawyer Crossing is the perfect place for you to book while you’re in Indy!

ACCESSIBILITY //
The home was built in the early 1900s and some features were not originally designed with accessibility in mind. We've made things as comfortable as possible, but here are a few items you may want to note:

1. There are two sets of steps required to reach the entrance to the home. The first set is 3 steps and the second set is 4 steps.

2. The bedrooms are all located on the second floor of the home. There is a flight of stairs with 15 steps that is relatively steep to reach the second floor.

3. The bathroom is located on the main floor.

OCCUPANCY //
The house is set up to comfortably accommodate 6 guests. Note that one of the bedrooms accommodates 4 people by using 2 trundle beds on the floor - please be sure this will meet your needs before booking.

If your party is larger than 6, please reach out to the hosts so we can navigate hosting a larger group. Pack and play cribs are available upon request - please give advance notice to your host.
Guest access
Guests have access to the entire living space of the home and share access to the front porch and backyard with the neighboring unit. Self check-in allows guests to enter the home and come and go freely via a digital keypad.

The home offers street parking only. For ease of parking, it's best to approach the house from the North. You may park in any open spot on the West side of the street (same side the home is on). Typically, you are able to park directly in front of the home, but on rare occasions space is limited and you may need to park a little further (a couple houses) down the street. There are neighborhood sidewalks leading to the home and a concrete path to the front door. There is no driveway or other onsite parking available. There is no cost for parking on the street.

GENERAL //
1. Before booking, please be sure to read our House Rules, Quiet Hours Policy and Pet Policy (if you plan to bring a pet). They are found in the "House rules" section of this listing.

2. This home is a duplex with two living units and the interior wall is shared between units. Please be respectful to the other residents and keep any extra noise and heavy footfall to a minimum.

3. The Dedicated Workspace is a desk and chair located in the master bedroom. The chair offers a height adjustment. Please review the photos to make sure this will meet your needs for a dedicated workspace prior to booking.

4. The home is in a mature residential neighborhood and is not located on a busy street. However, there is a train nearby down that can run a few times a day & night. Optional white noise machines have been supplied in each bedroom if you would like some additional noise masking.

5. The neighboring home to the South is currently vacant and undergoing rehab. Don't be alarmed if you see windows boarded up.

KITCHEN //
We have outfitted the home with a variety of goods and household items to make your stay comfortable. In addition to cookware - pots, pans, baking trays, knives, utensils, cutting boards, etc. - you’ll find a Keurig, a coffee maker, a Ninja bullet blender, a waffle press, a hand mixer, and a 3 quart crockpot to help make mealtime easier. The kitchen is stocked with olive oil and non stick oil sprays, as well as K-cups, coffee, hot cocoa, and cane sugar. A filtered water pitcher is in the fridge, providing drinking water during your stay.

ENTERTAINMENT //
WiFi connected 65" 4K Roku Smart TV in living room and 55" 4K Roku Smart TV in bedrooms. Amazon Prime Video is included and one additional streaming channel can be made available upon request! These include: Netflix, Disney+, Paramount+, Starz, Cinemax, Discovery+ with HGTV, HBO Max, AMC+, Hallmark Movies Now and Showtime. Please request these at least 3 days prior to check-in so we can ensure they are activated for your stay. If you request a channel later than that, we will still do our best to get them enabled, but cannot guarantee they will be ready in time.

400Mbps Up/Down Fiber Optic Internet connectivity, multiple Wifi 6 mesh nodes for complete coverage and speed. Ethernet connection is available by plugging into the Asus mesh node in the cabinet over the fridge in the kitchen.
