Beautiful Ranch on private lake in the Adirondacks

This house has everything. The Ranch style house is located in the heart of the Adirondack mountains on Lake Vanare and is 5 minutes from Lake George and 20 minutes from Saratoga Race Track and casino.

The house comes with, AC, Free Wi-Fi, complete kitchen with Dishwasher, Streaming TV, DVD, W/D, beachfront with a fire pit, kayaks, a large deck with a BBQ Grill and sitting area overlooking the water. We provide all of the bed linens and towels.

Whether you are a couple seeking a romantic getaway, a small/large family or a group of friends you are all welcome. We are happy to host weddings, family reunions, and corporate retreats. (Additional Fee and prior approval for large groups/events)
Enjoy the beauty of the Adirondacks, go fishing, hiking, swimming, tubing, kayaking, canoeing, bird watching, parasailing, experience the flat or harness track or sit by your own private campfire. The choice is all yours!!!!!

Summer 2024 stay

My wife and I, our adult children with their partners stayed at Candyland for a week in August. Plenty of room for the six of us. The home is quite unique and well appointed with all the essentials

We really enjoyed this unique house. Very spacious and just as pictured. Right on the lake, with boats, firepit, and our own private beach. Our kids loved the house! Would definitely stay again!

Lovely Lake House

A Great Weekend Getaway

This was a great spot for my husband and I, our two teenagers, and two of their friends to spend a long fun, relaxing weekend. Plenty to do and plenty of room for everyone to spread out. The property was exactly as advertised and exceptionally clean, and Shawn was always accessible to answer any questions.

Great place right on the lake!

What a view in the morning and loved the proximity to Lake George without the hustle and bustle. Fun time fishing and canoeing and the pool table came in handy when the weather didn't cooperate. And Shawn was very responsive and helpful. Will stay there again.

Great property and beautiful location!

We had a great time staying at this property. The house was beautiful, very clean and well appointed. We couldn’t have asked for more! The view is spectacular and it was great having the dock, beach and canoe/kayak. The owner was very easy to communicate with and answered all our questions. We would love to visit again next summer!

Beautiful spot on the lake

Perfect spot, good value

This is our second time renting this house and it’s perfect. We plan our trip around a day at the racetrack and it’s an easy drive there. The house is enormous with very unique furnishings and decor which we enjoy. Took the canoe out this morning for a nice end to a relaxing weekend!

Great early summer weekend

The pictures of the propery do not do it justice. My wife was amazed when she opened the door! The house has plenty of room, very clean, and has amazing views of the lake. The host was very responsive to questions, and ensured we had more than everything we needed to have an awesome weekend! House has its own lake access and very nice private beach! Very close to Lake George attractions, but the view from the deck of Adirondack Candyland might have you saying " might be a good day to hang on my private beach"

Great spot!

Spent 3 nights here and had a very pleasant and relaxing experience. House was clean, comfortable and well stocked. Everything was as advertised. WiFi was excellent. Communication from Shawn before and during our stay was very helpful and appreciated. Easy drive into the village of Lake George, but we spent most of our time at the property.

Excellent family/friend getaway

We absolutely loved our stay. This house was off a main road but tucked away enough to feel remote. Having access to a canoe, kayak, and row boat were perfect for daily outings on the lake. This house is very family friendly - we travelled with 2- 2 year olds and were not worried about safety issues at all. Shawn was very helpful with the entire process and checked in with us to make sure everything was going great. Highly recommend!

We love the place very much, the house is exactly as you see in the pictures, super spacious and cozy. The children have a lot of fun on the beach and with the games they have in the house. It was a great time I had with my husband, my children and my parents, the house has a view and a super pleasant climate. Thank you so much Shawn!

Awesome Stay!

Talk about a view from the deck! The house is ultra clean ( a must for me) pool table and darts for your evening enjoyment....the deck is enormous which overlooks the lake....stroll on down to the beach area with double docks...fishing and either row boating...canoeing or Kayaking awaits you...oh yes along with a firepit for the evening festivities...a must stay and will be returning! Shawn...the owner is just a quick text away with any questions....

Wonderful Week!!!

We found the house to be exactly as advertised and even more than we expected...beautiful, incredibly clean and well appointed, and also in a prefect location! Although only 5 minutes from the heart of Lake George, it felt as though we were 1000 miles from civilization on a pristine lake. The house has to be seen to be believed and the pictures do not do it justice! Our kids (17 and 19) spent almost every waking moment in the kayak, canoe or rowboat fishing or chilling on the dock with rods in hand! A little tubing, a little shopping in Lake George and a visit to Saratoga Race Track made this a very special and relaxing vacation. We had a couple of questions about the house when we arrived and, after texting our host, Shawn came by and helped us out by answering all of our questions. The kitchen had everything that anyone would possibly need and the gazebo on the deck overlooking the lake is where we had most of our meals. Overall we had a fabulous time and we will definitely be returning! Thanks for everything Shawn...our week was wonderful!!!

Perfect Getaway in Nature

So much more than we had hoped for. We stayed for 3 nights with our two adult children and their partners and it was more than we expected. Lovely large!!!! home for relaxing, creating memories, bonding with family and nature. The pictures shown in the listing are spot on. Plus a pool table! Mother Nature in the Adirondacks can be ever changing as we experienced rain ( yes Shawn even had large umbrellas to use ), hot and humid weather ( this home has multiple AC units to keep you cool enough) and cooler temps at night,(yes there is a fire pit if you choose.) Unfortunately, we were only there for three night, so busy away from the home that we didn't' take advantage of the water toys. The location was perfect, far enough from the crowds but close enough to Lake George and all that it has to offer which has something for all ages! Ample parking in the "tourist portion of Lake George." We also choose this location as it was about 30 minutes from Saratoga Race track and the quaint town of Saratoga Springs with its' cute shops and abundance of restaurants. We parked for free in a public lot and took the free trolley to the track and a taxi or uber back to town. For the golfers( novice to advanced), there is an inexpensive, beautiful, no frills, family run golf course 15 minutes north of this house. If you want to get in a quick 9 or 18 holes before the track my husband recommends the Cronin Golf Course in Warrensburg, NY. One tip to remember....Don't forget your bug spray. I am sure if Shawn had control over that he would have taken care of that too.

Fun time!

This place was a lot of fun, plenty of space. The host Shaun, was extremely helpful, answered messages very quickly. We really enjoyed the deck, the views, the beach area and the privacy. Loved having access to the canoe, kayaks, and the paddle boat. Cons: the “2nd” bathroom had no privacy at all. Also, I did not appreciate all of the junk outside under the deck, especially the toilet bowl. Again, the house was beautiful, and in a great location. The price was affordable and we got to bring our dog. Thank you for all the great memories.

Great property for a quiet weekend away!

My fiancé and I went to this property with a couple friends for a quiet weekend away for his birthday. The second we walked into this home we were impressed. The house was incredibly clean, the beds were very comfortable, and the layout itself was unique and refreshing. The private beach in the backyard was quiet and we took the kayaks out on the lake and even went swimming. Such an amazing location, and the host was so hospitable and attentive to any of our needs. He gave us recommendations on hiking locations and great food nearby, and responded quickly to any questions. 10/10 would recommend this property, and we hope to be welcomed back in the future. Great place for a fun and relaxing weekend!

Great house for hosting

Really great and large home for hosting a gathering. Master bedroom is huge and the living area is also incredibly spacious. Shawn was a fantastic host and even mailed us a bathing suit we had left accidentally. We had a wonderful time and highly recommend Shawn's place!
