Perfect Family Friendly Cabin w/ privacy/arcade games/yard space in Townsend, TN
Welcome to Bear Rock Cabin! We offer an incredibly unique setting nestled in the Great Smoky Mountains in Townsend, TN! We are a short 10-minute drive to the entrance of the park and the heart of our quaint town of Townsend.
The cabin is surrounded in the woods offering tons of privacy for your stay and plenty of space in the yard for the kids to play. We can easily accommodate those traveling with a pull behind motorcycle trailer.
Walk up the steps to the front porch and sit for a bit on the old church pew that dates to the 1950's. The church pew came from a small country church pastored by the cabin owner’s grandfather. While relaxing on the porch, take in those unique and big bold rocks on the property that helped inspire the name of this adorable and cozy cabin.
This cabin was built by a direct descendant of the Sparks family from Cades Cove (one of the many families that comprised the old Cades Cove community prior to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park acquisition). The cabin owners have captured a variety of unique and interesting decor and placed throughout the cabin, and we are excited for you to reminisce about the park history with us! Several of the original postcards date back to the 1930's.
Enter in the front door to find an open concept living/dining/kitchen area. The living room is centered around a gorgeous stone wood burning fireplace that promises to deliver pure relaxation - Smoky Mountain Style! A large smart TV is positioned in the living room to allow you to enjoy watching from the living room or dining room. The dining room offers a large table with plenty of extra seating available for family meals or game night! The kitchen provides full size appliances, microwave, drip style coffee pot and dishes/utensils/cookware for preparing meals.
The bedroom on the main floor offers a king-size bed and a private desk area for those that need to check in at work. The large bathroom on the main floor houses the full-size washer and dryer and a tub/shower combo.
Going upstairs you will find an oversized sleeping loft with a King Size bed, a large smart TV and two arcade games. Additionally, we offer several board and card games for your enjoyment. The private second bedroom upstairs has a king-size bed and large smart TV. The upstairs bathroom has a large jetted soaking bathtub.
You can enter the oversized covered back deck out the dining room doors and enjoy nature and peace and quiet resting in one of our rocking chairs. We do have a dining table and chairs on the deck as well to expand those fabulous family meals.
Bear Rock Cabin is new to the overnight rental market as of February 2024 and we cannot wait for you to be one of the first families to come stay with us and experience the charm and comfort of this rustic cabin in the woods!

Place was very clean, warm and inviting. The beds were very comfortable, there were lots of pillows which we loved! The hot tub was relaxing after a long day of hiking. We would stay here again!
Very comfortable beds, clean home, and delightful spaces to spend time. Enjoyed the porch listening to nature in a rocking chair. What a delightful beautiful location.Only thing I would add is nice quality toilet paper, to pay 180-200 a night with scratchy paper. Splurge for the nice stuff please! But I understand the price you pay is for the beautiful location in a coveted area and a quality home.

Thank you for your very nice review. I am so sorry you did not appreciate our Septic safe toilet paper. We are on a septic system and it’s a heavy use rental so we use Septic safe toilet paper. But it is not cheap and it is soft - we tested and we do use the highest grade Septic safe toilet paper there is. Appreciate your comments.
This cabin had just about everything we needed for a comfortable stay! There's plenty of room, and the video games/board games/smart TVs provide plenty of indoor entertainment. My favorite part was using the fire pit with a clear view of the starry sky. It's just a short drive to the local grocery, shops, and restaurants if you need or want to get out. You're also not far from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park for hiking and nature views.

I loved this cabin! It was our first rental experience, and I was blown away. The cabin was so clean and it had nearly everything we could possibly need as a weekend getaway! The beds were extremely comfortable - probably the best sleep I've had in years honestly. There were plenty of towels provided, clear instructions on what the checkout procedure was and plenty of seating and dishes in the kitchen. I do with the hot tub was connected to the house in some way, or that it had a roof/cover over it, but it worked out fine for us. I love how close it was to town, yet still felt so isolated and quiet. Jo was fantastic and had great communication with us as needed! I would highly recommend staying here!
Jo is a great host! We booked this cabin on short notice due to a change in our plans. I had mentioned to Jo that we were looking forward to s’mores with our daughter on the cabin’s fire pit. When we arrive at cabin, to our surprise a basket filled with s’mores ingredients is on the table with a very kind handwritten note welcoming us. Everything was super clean. We loved the open floor plan of this cabin, and our daughter loved the loft with arcade games. This cabin is in a nice location in Townsend if you like going to Cades Cove without the hustle and bustle of Gatlinburg. We loved our stay here. Thanks again, Jo!

I want to earn your business and your trust. I am local and very responsive - I can be reached anytime by phone/text/email or the VRBO/Airbnb app. I am a short 20-minute drive to the cabin and I am typically in the area every single day. I hope you have an incredible stay with us and I look forward to hearing how much you loved the cabin. Please sign our guest book for our owners as they LOVE reading all about your exciting adventures and your time here at the cabin.
