Cozy Nature Retreat A-Frame Cabin in Woods Firepit Creek Large Deck Sleeps 6
Angled Pine – A One-of-a-Kind Forest Retreat Near Gettysburg
Tucked into the forest and bordering Michaux State Forest, Angled Pine is a truly unique mountain escape designed for those who want to slow down, breathe deeply, and immerse themselves in nature.
The home gets its name from its distinctive architecture — a striking angled design that gives the space character, charm, and a feeling unlike a typical cabin. Surrounded by towering trees and peaceful woodland, it feels like a hidden retreat where nature is the main attraction.
Step outside and you’ll find yourself wrapped in the quiet beauty of the forest. The property sits right next to Michaux State Forest and is just minutes from the halfway point of the Appalachian Trail, making it a perfect basecamp for hikers, mountain bikers, nature lovers, and anyone looking to reconnect with the outdoors.
Follow the path to the end of the property and you’ll discover one of Angled Pine’s most magical features: beautiful Mountain Creek. Sit on the creekside swing or relax on the bench and listen to the water flow while the forest moves around you. It's not unusual to spot a turkey or deer grabbing a drink by the water's edge. Morning coffee, afternoon reading, or evening unwinding feels extra special beside the creek.
Why Guests Love Angled Pine:
*Unique architecture – the cabin’s distinctive angled design gives it character you won’t find in a typical rental
*Bordering Michaux State Forest – thousands of acres of forest right next door
*Mountain Creek on the property with a swing and bench by the water
*Close to the Appalachian Trail halfway point – perfect for hikers and outdoor lovers
*20 minutes to Gettysburg for history, restaurants, and shops
*Peaceful setting surrounded by wildlife and towering trees
Outdoor Features:
*Large deck surrounded by trees
*Fire pit surrounded by Edison lights for relaxing evenings under the stars. We provide the wood, blankets. and skewers
*Creekside swing and bench along beautiful Mountain Creek
*Plenty of space to enjoy the quiet and watch for deer, turkey, and other wildlife
*It’s the kind of place where mornings start with coffee in the forest and evenings end with the sound of the creek.

*Appalachian Trail halfway point just minutes away
*Michaux State Forest for hiking, mountain biking, and scenic drives
*Pine Grove Furnace State Park

About the host
Hosted by Lee Ann Burkholder
We have been hosts since 2020 when we bought a cottage in Gettysburg: Hospitality is important to us as we want to provide our guests with the most comfortable stay possible.
Why they chose this property
It was always a dream to purchase a cabin in the woods and when this opportunity presented itself we jumped. The neighbors are wonderful and the road is a private drive, well monitored by the permanent residents. It was a win-win for us from the get-go.
What makes this property unique
Our a-frame has been completely refurbished from top to bottom which makes it so special to us and our guests. Mountain Creek sits at the bottom of our property and is a great place to watch the abundant wildlife.

They consistently provide great experiences for their guests
