Heat is central heating controlled by the downstairs unit. If you are too cold, make sure the windows are closed. please let me know if it’s still too cold.
It’s an old house, including the windows. Not all of them open, and please be mindful when opening and closing them to be sure you do not injure yourself. If you have small children, please keep them closed.
If it’s summer, there will be A/C units hooked up to the windows. Please do not try to open the windows when the A/C units are installed.
Please DO NOT flush the toilet while someone is in the shower, it becomes excruciatingly hot for the person in the shower. Again, old house things.
The stove and oven is gas. Please make sure the knobs are turned off when it’s not lit.
The back patio is a shared space between both units. Feel free to work/dine/hang out there, but please be mindful of noise and clean up after yourselves. It is also a fire exit, but has a lock on the exterior door (on the inside) for extra security. It also has cameras and a motion light facing the outside (the exterior stairs) for added safety and security.
Garbage goes on the side of the building (Cartier street) around the corner from the Cafe in the black bins. If you have any cardboard boxes, please flatten them and leave them next to the bins. Recycling can go in the blue recycling bin on the back deck until recycling day. We will remind you which day is recycling the day before.
TV: you can watch Netflix, Crave, etc on the smart TV or connect your computer/phone/ipad via wifi/bluetooth.
Record player: feel free to use the record player and DO NOT mix up/take/damage any records. We count them at every check-out to be sure. You can also connect your phone via Bluetooth for speakers but honestly the TV is better for this.
Check-out is by 10am. If you need late check-out please let us know ahead of time and we can try our best to accommodate.
Parking on 70th ave is allowed 24/7 on weekends but not on weekdays from 3pm-7pm due to rush hour. Please make sure you don’t get towed!
Otherwise parking on Cartier (side street) is allowed 24/7/7days a week.
