About this property
Spectacular Hood Canal Views/Olympic National Park/Brinnon Waterfront House
(Free 2 kayaks to use/ Fast WIFI included/Strict 6 guests limit)-The house is a cozy older waterfront home on Hood Canal awaits your visit. You will be blown away by the view you'll see of the beautiful canal through floor to ceiling windows when you walk in the front door and look past the kitchen to the living room and the water beyond. You can enjoy watching eagles during spring and summer fly by or sea lions and seals and an occasional whale frolic in the water. Or perhaps you’d rather set out to scuba dive for octopus just 150 yards from the house. At the end of your day, grab some marshmallows and roast them in our fire pit, just a few feet from the edge of the water and also enjoying a beautiful sunset while cozying up to the fire.
The kitchen includes a breakfast bar and dining area. It opens into the dining room and living room where you will enjoy the incredible view of the water. Take in water view while sitting out on one of the two oversized decks at night looking at the full moon’s reflection on the water is a great way to relax at the end of your day.
The living room has an insert fireplace and space for family gatherings and activities. Downstairs in the first floor is a ping pong table, air hockey, 2 person shooting basketball game, Gamecube, and kids can have their own space for games, and treasures you find on the beach.
Our kitchen is stocked and our dining area with a table that seats six, or enjoy eating outside on one of our two decks while enjoying the view.
If you prefer to not cook, The Halfway House nearby is famous for excellent home cooking and homemade pies. Esquire magazine in the past has chose the nearby Geoduck Restaurant and Tavern #2 for “Best Bar in America,” and Pleasant Harbor Marina, just up the road, offers superb pizza and sandwiches.
The home offers four bedrooms, two upstairs and one on the main floor, and two full baths. One bedroom has a Queen-sized bed with night tables, a dresser and closet. Another has two bunk beds and a closet, the third has a queen bed and armoire, the fourth bedroom has a full size bed.
Bring your fishing poles and check out the many rivers that flow into Hood Canal. Nearby Dosewallips State Park, with acres of clams and oysters and geoduck, is also a great place to beach comb at low tide. Brinnon is a hiker’s paradise and there are spectacular trails and breathtaking waterfalls in Brinnon or in the nearby Olympic National Park. Or check out the great mountain biking trails. Divers can see several species of rockfish, octopus and all sorts of crabs in one of the best diving locations in the Northwest, and diving gear can be rented close by. A little further down the road is Mount Walker. A short drive up the mountain at the scenic view area, you will be blown away by the spectacular views of the Olympic Mountain range and turn your head back east and see the City of Seattle skyline. According to our guests, our house on the edge of the Olympic National Park is an ideal location as a base for their adventures to explore the park. Olympic National Park covers 922,651 acres of three distinct habitat zones, the alpine region, the coastline and the temperate rain forest. At 1,441 square miles, the park is larger than Rhode Island(1,214 square miles). In 1976, the park was named an International Biosphere Reserve by United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization, the park was made a World Heritage Site by the World Heritage Convention.

Amazing property right off the water. Very close to Hoodsport and the Olympic National Forest. Good space that was well stocked, clean and had a lot of amenities. Our host was very to communicate with us and offered great suggestions on what to do. I highly recommend this rental.
Enjoyed the beautiful views from the living room and decks! We loved finding sea glass and lounging around at the little rocky beach (shared with one neighbor, although they weren’t around much at all so it felt very private). The two kayaks were fun for exploring. It was a great home base for day trips to the Port Angeles area - we took the ferry from there to Victoria one day. Overall a very nice place!
This was a fantastic experience. Gorgeous home with a great view. A bit of a dated home, but not in a bad way. Very communicative host as well! Great experience and would stay here again.
We had the most amazing week at this location. While it is an older cabin, the tradeoff of views, wildlife, kayaks, and ping pong make it 100% worth it. We saw harbor seals, bald eagles, dolphins, and river otters! We kayaked, visited Olympic 2 days and Mt Ranier 1. We rested, kayaked, played, and just stared at the canal for hours. I can’t recommend this location enough.
Wonderful week with beautiful weather on the Hood Canal. The home was comfortable and clean, with very spacious decks overlooking the fabulous view. The kitchen was very nice, well featured except for the need of a better frying pan. Beds very comfy and cross ventilation conducive to good sleep. I had hoped to spend more time in the water but had difficulty navigating my way down until the last day when I discovered not to go down the steps but follow a somewhat hidden path. When I did make it down, I enjoyed a long swim in the pristine cove waters. His trip was mostly an opportunity to spend time with family, and we enjoyed our time immensely.
We spent Thanksgiving at this home and enjoyed the beach, kayaks, and decks. The kitchen was missing some things that would have made cooking easier — like measuring cups, a vegetable peeler, and a 9x13 baking dish — but we improvised. We’ve stayed here before and would stay again!
Stayed here for 3 nights and had a blast. Wildlife and canal access were as promised and did not disappoint. Spent the weekend clamming and harvesting oysters all of which were very close to the house.
The house was perfect for our needs. It was such an easy check in and out. The owners were very helpful and responded quickly to any questions we had about the house and area.
This location has both scenery and serenity! It was the perfect place to relax, spend time with the family, go kayaking, take in the beautiful surrounding, and visit the many nearby locations.
Great place to stay right on hood canal has everything you need to keep the kids busy and entertained. Interior a bit dated but everything was clean and can’t beat the views and convenient location.
Beautiful, serene, location and property! Host does a wonderful job communicating and offered us options for dining/groceries/activities. Check-in and check-out were super easy, which we appreciate, and there are plenty of options for things to do or just relax and enjoy the beautiful view! Property is very clean, stocked with basics, close to road but super quiet and all you hear is the waves lapping on the shore.
Had a lovely time here. Used the kayaks provided and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Sat and watched Bald Eagles and a few otters from the deck. Very relaxing surrounded by nature.
A beautiful house with the best views of the canal, sunrise, and sunsets! The house met all of our needs with prompt and easy communication with the owners.
Thank you for a wonderful week!
Everything about the house was easy and allowed us to rest and visit. Loved the deck looking over the water. Manager was a great communicator. Would definitely recommend this rental to anyone!
Amazing vacation! House on Hood Canal was perfect. Gorgeous views of harbor porpoises, otters, sea lions, and eagles. House is older and we couldnt get the tvs to work in the upstairs and main level bedroom but we werent there for tv so it wasnt a big deal. Host was veru responsive to questions through VRBO and text and trip was very smooth!
