We had a great time at the cabin! Super cozy and perfect for our anniversary trip. We brought our two dachshunds with us and they loved it too. Host was very responsive to the one question we had while we were there. The views from the cabin and pier were amazing!
We had a lovely week at this cabin on the lake. We rented kayaks for the week locally and enjoyed lots of seals, loons and a bald eagle on our kayak adventures. The house is about 15 -30 minutes from all the spots we wanted to bike and hike but easy drive. If you want a quiet, peaceful escape from the world, this is the place to go. It was a clean and comfortable stay and I highly recommend.
My wife and I stayed at the house in May 2025 and we loved it. The house was very clean and furnished with everything we needed. It is perfect for two or four people and we hope to return in the future. (Just note that the correct street number is 71, not 77.)
This location was everything we were looking for. Very homey and comfortable. The opportunities to observe wildlife was fabulous. Can't wait to go back.
The place is gorgeous. A little cabin tucked away on a tidal inlet with a dock. We sat on the dock 3-4 times watching the sunset after exploring MDI and the ANP all day. Great communication and an amazing stay.
This spot was so peaceful and beautiful. We could see the seals and hear the loons. Sitting out on the screened in porch was a highlight. The ammenities in the home are great, particullarly the kitchen. As readers and knitters, we found many comfortable spots in the home. All with excellent lighting. I was a bit concerned about the spiral stairs with the dog, but no need. There is access from the yard directly into the upstairs. The host was outstanding and responded to my questions immediately. I highly recomment this home and hope to return next year.
Stayed for a week with husband, my sister and her husband. Absolutely loved the property. Perfect size for the 4 of us. The kitchen had what we needed. Plenty of towels, pillows and blankets. Very quiet; we never saw another person. We went down to the dock every day, some days twice. The rope to guide you down was much appreciated! Saw some seals in the bay, but never the resident porcupine! Stargazing was amazing and we even saw the northern lights. Host was responsive when we ran out of propane. Would highly recommend this property. It was about a 20-30 minute drive to get to places in town, but worth it. We would return again. PS - be sure to visit the Schoodic peninsula part of Acadia. Best part of the park!
This is an interesting two-level house perched high above the quiet bays on the western side of MDI. The wrap-around deck is a great place to watch the bay go quiet in the evening. The path to the shared dock is precipitous but worth the effort, since seals and loons are everywhere to be seen. An extra plus is the collection of classic detective stories that are available for rainy-day reading. Internet service on that side of the island does tend to be unreliable--the owners do the best they can to provide.
Secluded from the traffic. Easy access to water (it is a rocky trail but well worth it) We kayaked and pretty much had the water to ourselves except for the harbor seals which were fascinating to watch. You can rent Kayaks and they will deliver to the house. You do have to haul down to the water but well worth it. Screened in porch was a great place to relax after a long day of hiking or biking. We did both. This is a wonderful place to stay and cannot recommend enough. BTW, you are close to Bar Harbor but we found Southwest Harbor to be a Gem. Popovers at the Common Good (designed to raise funds for meals for the needy), great lobster places on the harbor with free parking with several other restaurants close by. Give Archies a look in Tremont.
The Beech Mountain Ladder trail , though not as hard as the Bee Hive trail , great fun and zero crowds. Not sure why more people were not doing. I could go on , but I do not think you be disappointed if you love the outdoors.
This was my wife's and my first trip to Acadia and it's a trip together we will never forget. Our stay in this home was nothing short of wonderful. It was *immaculately* clean, comfortable, full of amenities, secluded, and peaceful. Owners were extremely responsive to questions (within minutes every time). Falling asleep in the upstairs bedroom and waking up to the sun shining on the water and through the trees through the large window was amazing. This home was the quietest place we have ever been. Beyond the home, if you've never visited Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park - do yourself a favor and put it on your bucket list. We enjoyed the people of Maine, the food, the unbelievable national treasure of Acadia, and the clean air. Go to the top of Cadillac mountain, hike the Coastal trail, hike the Jessup path, spend a day and evening in Bar Harbor, sail the Margaret Todd, and most *definitely* check out the Ranger-led star gazing nights (twice a week) at Sand Beach. Get food and Blueberry Pie from Abel Lobster. Mainely Meat & Barbecue, together with Atlantic Brewing Company, are 10 minutes away from the house and we did take out 1 night to enjoy at home. We would 100% without hesitation stay here again, and this has raised the bar for what we can expect from a rental.
We just returned from a week at this lovely property, and are already planning our next trip back. The house and property is simply lovely, with easy access to the water, seclusion and privacy... yet close enough to Bar Harbor, restaurants and shops for a perfect vacation. We loved all the amenities that came with the house, the comfortable beds, and the incredible views. We enjoyed the sounds of the seals talking to each other each evening, the call of the Loons, porpoise swimming off the dock, and an incredible view of a Bald Eagle hunting right off shore. Such an incredible and magical place.
We just (sadly) sold our long-time family lake-front property in the Adirondacks, and have been looking for a new summer "home"... and I think we just found it. Thank you to the owners for their hospitality, their incredibly comfortable and tasteful accommodations and graciousness, the efforts of the housekeeper, and the property manager. Thank you, thank you... we had the time of our life, and will never forget it!
Had a great stay. House in a very quiet and beautiful location. Close to all the things to see on Mount Desert Island. Great to return and enjoy the views from the deck or walk down to the dock.
The cottage is ideally located. Nestled in the pines right on protected waters that are ideal for kayaking. The house itself is well appointed with everything you need in the kitchen. It warm and inviting. The wrap around deck is fabulous. In early summer the screened porch offered protection from the mosquitos. You can hear the scores of seals throughout the day.
Susan and Nancy were wonderful hosts, very responsive and kind. This is a wonderful place for people who love nature. The seals were such a wonderful surprise and endlessly entertaining to watch from the dock. We will definitely be back.
This is a beautiful cottage, pristine, clean, attractive. The views are spectacular onto the water, islands, seals, and trees. The screened in porch is a plus. The manager was very helpful and saw to our needs. The staff were great. It is quiet and peaceful, but not too far from Acadia hiking trails by car.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the crow’s nest. The location was perfect (away from the craziness of Bar Harbor but close enough to easily drive anywhere on the island in about 25 minutes or less). The views from the deck and dock were unparalleled. To be able to sit on the dock with not another person in sight and watch seals frolic in the water without having to drive anywhere was invaluable. The house was well equipped, well cared-for, and comfortable. We enjoyed using it as home base for relaxing and planning our daily adventures into Acadia and MDI. Host was easy to communicate with.
The cabin is perfectly situated in the woods and on the water. It’s rustic, remote and surrounded by nature. It was exactly what we needed and we couldn’t have imagined a more perfect spot.

What makes this property unique
The Studio is quiet and peaceful, the views are incredible, the building is up-to-date; and is a kyacker / canoeor’s paradise. Seals abound (please respect their privacy and stay 150 feet away from their basking rocks). Eagles, Osprey, Terns, Loons, and Cormorants fish in the area and the occasional pod of porpoise swim by. The views include Blue Hill, Black Island and Oak Point. This side of Mount Desert is often sunny when other areas are fog bound, and the water is warmer. It’s a peaceful getaway 15-20 minutes from the hectic tourist frenzy of Bar Harbor in the summer time. Well behaved flea treated dog welcome.
