This home is great! It is spacious, comfortable and homey. The property is quiet and the front porch view of the mountains is so serene. We really enjoyed our stay.
The place was clean and all appliances worked. The view out the front windows was fantastic. If I could suggest one thing, it would be to add a small outside table between the rocking chairs on the front porch to place coffee/drinks.We had a great time.
A Piece of Mountain Heaven! We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this mountain cabin! From the moment we walked through the door, it was clear how much care and attention goes into keeping the property clean, comfortable, and welcoming. The views were breathtaking—there is nothing quite like enjoying a morning cup of coffee on the porch while looking out over the mountains. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to cook meals, the cozy setup made it feel like a true home away from home. The host was warm, responsive, and provided great local recommendations that made exploring the area seamless. Whether you’re looking to hike, relax by the fire, or just disconnect for a few days, this is the perfect getaway. We can't wait to come back!
This cabin is amazing! It is so cozy. It has everything you need and was very clean. The views are absolutely breathtaking. It is in a quiet location, with quick access to food, groceries, gas, and activities. The host was so sweet, there was a gift waiting for us upon arrival. Will definitely stay here again and would recommend to anyone!
The view was very pleasant on the front porch during morning coffee. The kitchen and dining area worked nicely for our group, as did the convenience of the washer&dryer. Access to hwy 74 was ideal for our motorcycle riding. The carport was great for parking our Harleys. The driveway was a bit sketchy on the bikes, but doable. The greeting package of wine and fresh eggs was very nice, however no corkscrew to open it. Host apologized and brought a Swiss army knife to open the bottle? The house failed: stink bugs, roaches and moths throughout the house, bedrooms and showers....and not from us leaving doors open! The wood floor in the house was dirty as evident on our feet and socks. Water pressure was excellent throughout. Both shower tubs backed up and drained very slow. Breakers tripped multiple times using hair drivers. The WiFi signal was horrible, other than in the master bedroom...terrible location for a router. We did not use the fire pit or back porch facing the house behind the property. We would not book a return trip to this location.
We really enjoyed our stay at Mountain View Retreat. Conveniently located close to the national forest and out of the hustle and bustle. We would definitely come back for another get away.
Home was easy to find. Lovely property with amazing view! Had everything we needed and more. Would certainly return if we were in the area again. Thanks for a great stay!
Beautiful place to stay. Minutes from Nantahala and NOC we love the home. Clean, everything was provided and just the perfect house. We definitely will be staying again! Totally in love with it
A wonderful time in Andrews N.C. with a great and thoughtful hostess
This home was exactly as described and met our every expectation. My family and myself had a wonderful time both in the home and in the area. We would highly recommend this home to anyone interested in this area and all it has to offer.
This place was very clean. Kitchen was well stocked. Had plenty of pan and dishes, towels. I will be staying again. Great place to sit on poarch and rest. 10 Stars
The place was very clean. There was a lot to cook with, and there was an incredible view. I love the coffee maker and the fish that I caught.
The house was very comfortable with great water pressure. Bed was very comfortable..
Thank you for having me I’d like to come back someday with my family.❤️
Property was perfect for the family time we were looking to spend for the holiday. Rooms were comfortable, beds were comfortable and property was nice. Loved the kitchen area. Only issue we had was the hot water ran out quickly. It was a great home away from home. Thank you Ms Jacklyn
I had a really nice time at the MountainView Retreat. It was easy to find and very nice. The view from the front porch was amazing. We like to visit lake Nantahala, and this cabin was very close (about 20 minutes). It is also close to Andrews, Robbinsville and the Nantahala Gorge. We will definitely be back.
We enjoyed our stay here. There was an issue with the Wi-Fi it that was resolved the second day. After a bit we figured out how to use the heat as there was no instruction on how to do it. Received a free bottle of wine and homemade jam and eggs.
Stayed 2 nights in Oct 2024
About the host
Hosted by Jacklyn Smith
Hello and welcome to our charming retreat atop the mountain. My name is Jacklyn Postell Smith and I am happy to be your host if you need anything during your stay. I grew up on this beautiful mountain and then moved to Charlotte NC where I teach second graders and reside with my family. I have two awesome active kids which enables me to know what parents need when they are on vacation! Peace, relaxation and plenty for the whole family to do! I also have two furbabies which also draws my attention that everyone should be able to bring all their babies on vacation! This property has been in my family for five generations! We have enjoyed the view, sound of Postell Creek, adventures of catching crawdads and salamanders, and sitting by the fire eating s'mores. We are excited to share this beautiful place with you now!
Why they chose this property
The scenery is tranquil with a spectacular mountain view. My favorite part of the property is the ability to go out on the porch with my morning coffee and take in the view of the Smokies. I also love sitting at the firepit on summer nights, listening to the babbling creek and making s'mores with my family.
What makes this property unique
It has an incredible mountain view of the Smokies, a babbling brook with a fire pit, and a large master suite.
