A well-maintained, beautiful property right above Sturgeon Lake. Thoughtfully appointed kitchen and living room, just add friends and family for a great getaway together. We had a lovely time and look forward to returning!
Everything is great, Vicky is such great person very helpful The house is full of everything you need, amazing view, definitely we will come back Thank you Vicky!
We absolutely loved our stay at the cottage! The place was nice and clean, and in a really nice location with a beautiful view. The host, Vicky, is very sweet and lovely. Hope to stay again next year!
We had a great time at this cottage. We were a group of all adults and had a wonderful time cooking and enjoying shared meals on the deck, screened sunroom, and large indoor dining table. Hosts were quick to respond to any questions and pleasant to work with.
We enjoyed our stay. The cottage was well stocked. The hosts were amazing and understanding. We are looking forward for a longer stay next time.Thank you Vickie and her Husband

Wonderful stay
Great view on water. Very clean and spacious. Had an issue with water pump but was fixed right away. Owners very pleasant and helpful. Beds could be upgraded!
Our family recently stayed at the cottage and enjoyed the beautiful views and cozy, functional spaces. The amenities, including a dishwasher and air conditioning, were also a great plus. However, we did have a few safety concerns during our stay. The swimming area was very weedy and rocky, making it difficult for our two young children (ages 6 and 7) to use. Additionally, we found a significant amount of broken glass near the front of the cottage, which was a worry for the kids. There was also a broken window on the door that was taped up and could be a potential hazard.Overall, we had a good time, but hope these issues can be addressed to make the cottage a safer and more enjoyable place for families with young children.

We appreciate the feedback provided by the guest, however we want to clarify regarding the issues mentioned. Regarding some glass fragments at the front of the cottage, we did explain to the guest that our front sunporch collapsed during a severe spring storm and the contractor will be rebuilding it this month. Although an initial, fairly thorough, cleanup of the area was conducted by the contractor, a few fragments might have remained and a final "sweep" of the area will be conducted after the sunporch is re-built in September (2025).
Regarding the "rocky" and "weedy" swimming area - our waterfront has excellent, swimmable water, especially in the deeper area off the swim platform. Some boat clippings might have been carried in by the current during this guest's stay, however that is not a common occurrence at our waterfront. The shallow area does have stones of different sizes which is why we always advise guests to wear water shoes if using that area.
Regarding the taped, broken glass panes on an interior door, the damage occurred shortly prior to this guest's visit and due to timing the door could not be removed and repaired immediately. The issue will be resolved shortly.
Lovely cottage for our family of 5 plus 2 pets. The layout of the cottage is terrific, 4 bedrooms, nice big kitchen. Sunroom, mudroom, deck and BBQ - 3 entry/exit points, was great for the pets and us. Vicky (owner) was a pleasure to work with. Cottage was well equipped with everything you could want and more! There are 75 + steps down to the water. Lovely sitting area by the water. Loved our stay and would love to return again! Thank you!

Maintenance needs help
When we arrived, we immediately noticed that the cleaning was not up to par. We recleaned the bathroom, couches, and glassware from the cupboard, and removed most of salad from the dishwasher filter. Bathroom towel bar kept falling off. Refrigerator door shelves held together with duct tape. Main door key broke.
Bed to the left of bathroom needs a new mattress.
Dangerous issue with the dock as the floor panels of the dock had slid or been placed such that there was a 4-5” gap in the middle. At one point my wife slipped in it and crashed down up to her knee which was firmly jammed between the planks and scraped. It was only in trying to pry her loose that we discovered that the panels would move at all. She was in such shock and pain that once we had extracted her, she actually passed out and we had to carry her back. She is still nursing some serious bruising and swelling in her lower leg.
Canoe had a 6” crack and was taking on water. I found a roll of duct tape and did a temporary repair. Muskoka chairs in VRBO photos were all broken and in a pile near the dock. Had to dig around in the basement to find some other folding camp chairs.
We enjoyed our week overall and the lake was lovely. Thankfully we had brought our own inner-tube floaties since most of the floaties in the dock shed were not usable. It’s unfortunate that the cleaning, maintenance and safety issues left a bad taste.

We appreciate feedback from guests as it allows for additional information, so that we can take care of issues as they arise. However, we take exception to some of Andrews comments. A quick look at our reviews, both before and after Andrew's visit, will obviously show that some of his comments are either incorrect or exaggerations.
Prior to Andrew's arrival I re-cleaned the cottage, even though the cleaner had already cleaned. Nevertheless, I spoke to our cleaning lady afterwards about re-checking cleaned areas in case something is missed. The minor maintenance items he brought to our attention (towel bar) were quickly taken care of. The broken key? What can I say -- we have never had a key break before. Perhaps after years of use the metal had become weak -- who could have predicted that? The "crack" in the canoe? The canoe had been used all summer and no-one mentioned an issue with it. On inspection, we determined it was a small surface crack that might have happened just before or during Andrew's visit, if the canoe was left in the water and the waves pushed it against a rock -- again, easily repaired. The broken chairs? They were placed behind the shed for disposal and clearly were not for use - there were plenty of other chairs on the dock.
We are sincerely sorry that his wife suffered an accident on the dock. The action of the water must have loosened one of the deck boards that widened the usual opening between boards enough for her to step through. Its unfortunate that she didn't see the gap, which, if it was wide enough for her to step into, it would have been very visible and the board could have been pushed back in place to avoid the accident. Unfortunately accidents happen.
I purposely chose not to do a review on this guest and his family.
We enjoyed celebrating Thanksgiving at this property, The house is quite old but the condition is very good, you can find all your needs while you stay, The host is super kind and responsive to any question you might have, and the front yard is very secure for the kids to play, The house is not at the lake level but I don't really mind going down the stairs to reach the water. I highly recommend this place.
Our experience with Vicky in her cottage was very good.
Vicky is a kind, simple, and very willing and open lady to help her guests enjoy what she offers. She is the one who is ready to walk extra miles so that everything goes well for the guest.
It was a pleasant surprise to see the beautiful view from the cottage to the lake, and the entire area surrounding it.`
We really enjoyed our visit, and we will indeed repeat it soon.
Perfect cottage location for the 7 of us for a family gathering. layout is excellent along with the view. Spent one day down on the dock hanging out by the water.
The cottage was perfect for my family. We spent most of our time on the dock, swimming, fishing and using the paddle boat. Lake is shallow near the dock and then gets deep. It was good for my younger children to enjoy. The fire pit down by the lake was great, we used it each night. The cottage was Ean, beds were comfortable and kitchen was well stocked.
First off I would like to say that the owner of this cottage was so lovely to deal with. Very helpful and pleasant to talk to. The pictures on site don’t do this cottage justice. It was a perfect getaway for adults and children. We were there from Tuesday to Friday and we will definitely go back. The cottage is far from a cottage, the house was great. Had everything that we needed. The house had no issues, 3 bdrms with queen and double beds. A large family room that looked out to the lake. Big kitchen with all the amenities. Nice large yard in the front with a fire pit and front deck and the back had another long deck with a bbq and entertaining section with a table, chairs and umbrella. There were stairs that looked daunting at first but it was great exercise and not that bad after you used them a few times. There is a paddle boat, and canoe and a nice dock where you can fish. There are rocks so you will need water shoes as the rocks are quiet sharp and will cut you feet. Everyone who was there really enjoyed themselves. Cottage had life jackets and also a fire pit down by the water. Beautiful sunsets and best place to look at the stars. I will definitely be going back! You won’t be disappointed when you go to this cottage.
Very good place to stay. Some might be weary of the stairs down to the beach, but this wasn't a concern for us. Lots of room in the cottage and the owners are very pleasant.
A fantastic experience! A lovely cottage, with plenty of space, and all the amenities (AC! Satellite Tv! Puzzles! Boats!). Vicky was easy to get a hold of whenever we had any questions or needed advice on where to purchase groceries or anything else we needed. Can’t wait to return next year!
I had a lovely time at this cottage. I was in the off season (Nov) where it was nice and quite. Lovely sunsets and scenery. Sitting in the sunroom as a little brisk that time of year, but it was a great place to sit and read under a blanket.
It is very much a cottage - so don't go and expect a pristine-luxury-glam experience. Expect a nice cottage with a lovely host.
It was perfect, even more than what we expected. Great location, great place. A bit of a hike up and down the stairs, but I can't complain about that bit of a workout actually. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay.
All my guests were very happy, and comfortable! Great, accommodating hosts. Would definitely recommend this rental to others!
