About this property
Tranquil Lakefront Cottage Near Acadia Nat’l Park.
Indulge in the feeling of seclusion from an expansive deck overlooking a peaceful lake away from the hustle of everyday life. Enjoy daily swimming in the lovely gravel bottomed swimming area at the foot of the hill, although there is no beach. Savor spectacular sunsets on the deck after supper. Cottage has 1 large kitchen/dining/living room with 2 separate bedrooms and one full bath which is outside on the screened-in porch. The front bedroom has a queen bed & lake views while the back bedroom has a forest view with a double bed. There is one large front deck, and 1 small screened in side porch.
I do use the cottage myself when not rented & I have a Siamese cat that I bring with me. Please be aware of this if you have allergies. :) I was able to install fiber optic Internet at camp Summer of 2024 so I have unlimited Internet now. That means you can watch movies, YouTube videos or anything your heart desires on your own devices.
Also, I had my well water evaluated spring of 2024 & it passed the potability test with no problems.
There is no fire pit at the property as it is in the middle of the woods & an unnoticed spark could be a disaster.
Any booking not paid in full at least 2 weeks prior to arrival date can be cancelled by the owner without recourse to a refund or accommodations.

I can’t say enough about this cabin and Cindy. A truly perfect spot, amazing value and Cindy went well above and beyond to help us with an issue after we left town. It’s a magical place-I can’t wait to come back.
The cabin is dated but everything was spotless. There was plenty of dishes and supplies. The bed was very comfortable. This is a beautiful place to stay and very, very peaceful and reasonably priced. You are close to Ellsworth which is a cute little town. Great host!
My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and it was perfect! This was our first trip to Maine and Cindy’s cottage was exactly what we were looking for. It was cozy, quiet, and had everything we needed. We enjoyed the nearby activities in Ellsworth, Bar Harbor, and Acadia NP as well as relaxing at the cottage and sitting on the screened in porch. Hearing the loons on the lake in the mornings and evenings was an added bonus! We would stay here again, highly recommend!
We stay at Cindy's place every year (for five years running now) and it is perfect for us. Cozy and perfect for our family of four with two growing teens/young adults two parents and dog but we love it! Highly recommend!
For our family this was a great property to relax and enjoy but also able to reach areas in Maine we wanted to visit.
I appreciated communications with the owner and she was very accommodating when we had a booking issue.
We had a beautiful and peaceful 5 days at the camp. The camp was immaculately clean, extremely well organized, and provisioned with everything you need for a comfortable stay. We stayed in mid-October with overnight lows around 40F and used the electric room heaters but did not need the gas heater or extra / electric blankets. The camp is roughly equidistant between Acadia National Park and Deer Isle and was a great launching point for visits to both. Highlights of our vacation included star-gazing, sunrises, and bald eagle watching from the dock on the lake; Gorham Mountain Trail and Little Hunter's Beach in Acadia; coffee at 44 North and hikes at the Edgar Tennis and Settlement Quarry Preserves on Deer Isle; and drinks at Airline Brewing and dinner at Provender in Ellsworth. Be sure to plan ahead and make reservations for dinner in Ellsworth!
Comfortable, cozy, lakeside home with killer views. It's quiet, well-stocked kitchen (equipment) and is great proximity for so many outings, whether to Acadia, Schoodic, Blue Hill, Deer Isle or . . .
And loons.
We come here each year and it’s just right for us. We are a family of four (two teens, two adults and a dog) and and everyone has a great time here. So comfortable and familiar! We’ll be back!
Cabin was rustic but knew that from pics. Steps down to dock were slippery as host described. Must be very careful going down to lake. Overall, good stay
Beautiful setting and place well furnished. Though bit chilly.
May be helpful for future visitors have sign post top of property with address.
Appreciate communication of landlord.
Our stay at the cabin was very relaxing, and Cindy was always a call or message away. The cabin was well equipped , just needed our personal items. The scenery was breathtaking with the pond and forest. Acadia Park was amazingly beautiful and Bar Harbor was also a short drive away.

About the host

I am a retired travel agent & have traveled the world. In spite of the many beautiful places I have seen, to me my cottage is equal to them all. I love Siamese cats, spinning wool, knitting & baking.
Why they chose this property
I inherited this cottage from my parents who built it themselves with help from neighbors & friends in the 1950's. I spent nearly every summer here as a girl, swimming & boating with my family & friends. It feels remote but is close to shopping & entertainment although I find that I hate to depart once I'm there & only leave for groceries.
The cottage is approx 25 miles from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, 20 miles to artsy Blue Hill, and within an hour of panoramic Deer Isle.
What makes this property unique
The cottage is on a hill overlooking the lake & is a small climb down to a gravel bottomed swimming area. There are few camps on this lake, so you will be unlikely to see very much of your neighbors. There is no public boat launch on the lake, so only bring canoes or kayaks that are light enough to carry down the hill yourself & back up again.
