Another great week with family. Beautiful sunsets, eagles, deer, and the fresh lobster from Harlan-YUM!! So glad we came back and hope to be back again. Thank you for sharing this spot with us Trixi!
Another incredible stay here. We had wonderful accommodations, great weather and new adventures. Visited the Botanical Gardens, had a great tour of Portland that included several lighthouses (The Real Portland Tour), took a cruise on Boothbay Harbor (Capt’n Fish’s) and delicious breakfast at Moody’s diner.
We loved the location, close to all the places we wanted to visit. The view was just amazing, we loved watching the lobster boats. We watch the bald eagles fly over the house. The art work in the house was amazing, wish we could have stayed longer. Another plus was being so close to Moody's Diner, a favorite of ours.

Glad you enjoyed it. I live in Fairfax County. It’s my happy place.
Great week at Jutta's place. Private setting with great views. Accommodations were perfect for us. Great food close by at Moodys, Delanos, Rt 220 Mkt, and Wallaces. Eagles galore along with seals. Very relaxing and enjoyed every minute- wish we were still there!!

AWESOME
Better than I expected. It was so peaceful, quiet, and serene. I would give this place 5 stars!! Looking forward to returning.
We came up for a local wedding but decided to add on some extra days to the trip. What a beautiful location, clean and well stocked accommodations, and much attention to personal comfort.
This rental home was perfect for relaxation and some much needed family time.
Hope to return another time.
We loved this house and location! The house was stocked with everything we need to steam the lobsters that were bought to our dock. The hammock is in the perfect location for sights and a nap! House was spacious, clean and the grounds were wonderful for walking. We had been to Maine before, but this house was bigger and had a better view! Thank you Trixi for a great week!

I’m so glad you enjoyed it. It’s my special place.
Our first trip to Maine and it was wonderful. Location of the property is in perfect location to do day trips north, south and in land. Not to mention being right on the water! We had beautiful sunsets and weather even though we planned for the worse. Property is pet friendly and has all the amenities needed to include your own local lobster fisherman delivering to the dock! Not our last trip or stay for sure.
Our family vacation was perfect. Jutta’s Place is so beautiful. The house was perfect for our family. The views of the water and the peacefulness of the location was perfect. The beauty of the nightly sunsets over the water was always an “event”. Waldoboro is a small sweet little Maine town. It was easy to get to places that we wanted to explore. We will be back!
Beautiful home on the coast in Waldoboro Maine. Everything on the listing was accurate. Well stocked kitchen. Everyone loved the beds. Not too far from Route 1, we have stayed much farther in Port Clyde which takes twice as long to get to from Route 1. Nice residential development with pond with beach area and tennis court for summer activity. Will probably rent again!!
We had an extended stay in this lovely, well-stocked home in a beautiful setting. Owner was very responsive and appropriately engaged that we were enjoying our stay. Caretaker who is fun to speak with was also very responsive, helpful and dealt with our very small issues perfectly. Neighbors lovely, wildlife sightings exciting and sunsets gorgeous. Despite covid, there are many activities/adventures (kayaking/swimming/tennis/pickle ball) near the property and of course plenty of hiking, biking in the area. Enjoy!
This was our second stay. We love the place and the location. The house is located right at the water and very comfortable, with a very well stocked kitchen. Everything is in really good shape and condition, which makes rainy days not a big deal at all. The house is located near a number of great state parks and hiking trails along Maine's beautiful shoreline. It's a very quiet location, which allows you to completely let go and relax. Most of the windows have views of the water, which is yet another great feature. Thanks again for a great experience!

Thanks. As you know, it’s my “home” and I love to hear that it’s special to others. Trixi
My family and I stayed here during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, and we had a wonderful experience at this house. The owner was very responsive, especially taking into consideration the short notice I provided when booking the house, and very accommodating. The house was spotless when we arrived, and we found the house to be very comfortable. There was plenty of space, the furniture was comfy and the kitchen had everything we needed to celebrate the holiday. The views of the water especially during the sunrise and sunset were beautiful. We hope to return during the warmer months to enjoy the screened in patio area and outdoor activities.

The Best
We had a great week at your place, thanks again. The house is very comfortable and roomy and had everything you could need to cook, relax, play, and then some. We had a great time on the sea kayaks that were provided and were out on them everyday. The seals, eagles, and countless species of birds as well as the beauty of the area made the kayaking especially nice. I've used VRBO 20 or 30 times and this house is by far the nicest. I honestly think the house's appearance exceeds the photos on this site. If you want a peaceful, relaxing, private house on beautiful water with lots to do and a very comfortable place to stay, this is it.

Lynn and I are always excited that people love our place as we do. It definitely is a great place for kayaking and even tennis if so inclined.
Trixi's home sits along the river inlet, in a grove of tall pines, with a pine-cone, pine needle, and mossy floor. Her back deck, and screened in porch face to the west, so every night you are treated to a spectacular sunset.
The house is spacious, and the rooms are larger than the photos reveal. The beds were firm, but comfortable. Bring ear plugs, because the lobster-men like to get out early. The kitchen is well stocked with plenty of spices, and extras that most rentals don't provide.
We had a fabulous week, and would return again.
This lovely home on the water instantly felt like home to our family. The house and the surrounding property are absolutely stunning and the views are unforgettable, especially the sunsets. The pictures of the home and the property in the VRBO listing do not do the listing justice - both are much better in person than expected. A family member said, "This is the most beautiful place I have ever been!" Our family created forever memories here. The home is fully stocked with everything you need for a comfortable stay including cooking your own meals (including a large efficient lobster pot setup to cook 10 lobsters or more at one time!). If you are looking for the consummate Maine coastal experience, our family highly recommends Trixi's place.
Driving in to Ice Pond Estates on to the dirt/gravel road, we were struck by the feeling that we’d entered in to another time and place. Past the tennis court, and up by the pond, we arrived at the roundabout with the lovely tree in the middle and pulled into the driveway to Jutta’s Place.
The house is charming. It’s warmly decorated, clean, comfortable, and has everything one would ever need.
Our old dog loved her many walks along the roads of the estate, as did we. There is no scent more lovely than the musky sweet scent of the Maine fall woods.
The ambiance, attention to making guests feel at home, and the proximity to many nearby lovely Maine towns/villages made Jutta’s Place a perfect spot. We hope to return!
If you are lucky enough to rent Trixi’s place, you will not be disappointed! This rental feels like home and is a good sized, roomy, comfortable home on a woodland property with a spectacular water view.
The house is airy, spacious, comfortable and wonderfully decorated. We had 5 adults and 3 kids ages 10,11,and 12 and we had plenty of room to do our own thing or to gather together.
The kids were in heaven, riding their bikes to Flippers convenient store, kayaking, fishing, lying in the hammock and enjoying the camp like atmosphere of the property.
We used the house as a home base to visit our favorite places in Wiscasset, Bar Harbor and Damariscotta (best oysters in the world!).We went on family fishing trips, on Reel Action charter fishing out of Portland as well as a seal and oyster cruise (Darmisacotta) and the Cabbage Island Clambake(Boothbay Harbor). We went to the Botanical Gardens, Pemaquid Point Lighthouse, a cheese farm and ate at The Newcastle Inn and had pie at Moody’s.
When our week at Trixi’s was over, we headed north to explore Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor, just a few hours north on Highway 1.
We loved the hummingbirds and wildlife on the property and the views are beyond beautiful. We took lots of photos and videos.
We highly recommend this property!!

I’m so glad you liked it. I love my home there and am always happy when others do as well. Hope you can come again. Trixi
The house was wonderful, a beautiful location on the cove. It provided many opportunities for beautiful sunsets, eagles flying overhead and lobster boats at work. The house is completely stocked with items I didn’t need to pack. We
would stay there again in a heartbeat.
We've stayed in and explored many great places along the Maine coast over the years, but this property and setting were among the best. The home is really nice and comfortable, in a quiet community. For boaters and kayakers it offers great access to the water via a community dock, available mooring and nearby launches. And lobsters are readily available from the local waterman. Couldn't be better.
This is a great property! The house is very well laid out. It was clean. The location is fantastic, with a pretty view and privacy. I would not hesitate to stay here again!
the house and property were beautiful
gorgeous sunsets
we had great weather
would definitely stay again

About the host

Lynn and I live in Virginia and i am a retired high school teacher and Lynn has his own business, which is a residential painting business. We like to bike, kayak, play tennis, travel and eat.
Why they chose this property
We love Maine and this spot is heaven! Every time we come, we pinch ourselves to make sure that this is, in fact, reality.
What makes this property unique
We love the location. We are only 17 miles to Damariscotta and about the same to Rockland. Both have unique restaurants, museums, theaters and shopping. Because we have about 60 islands around us, kayaking is premier. Since it is our home, we have equipped the kitchen with everything needed for cooking.
