Jay Mountain Retreat - Wilderness Paradise - Gorgeous View of Whiteface

Let the quiet peacefulness and stunning beauty of the Adirondacks envelop you at this unique property in the foothills of the the Jay Mountain Wilderness. Very private and secluded location, yet convenient to Keene, Upper Jay, Lake Placid, and Whiteface Mountain.

Beautifully renovated, tastefully furnished and well-equipped, our three-bedroom, two-bathroom log home is perfect for families or a small group of friends. On the upper level there is an oversize master bedroom with King bed, an ample second bedroom with Queen bed, and a lovely full bathroom with luxurious shower and copper double sinks. The main floor has an additional bedroom with double bed and full bathroom as well as full kitchen, laundry room, dining room, and living area.

Relax on the covered porch, dine on the patio, gather around the fire pit, or watch the sun set over Whiteface Mountain. Kids, dogs, and their parents love the large level lawn and oversized backyard with walking paths (Dogs must be included on the reservation and pre-approved by the owners.)

If you are looking for adventure, you are close to many popular hiking trails from gentle to epic, swimming holes such as the Jay Covered Bridge, and Hardy Road mountain biking. The nearby Ausable River is a premier destination for fly-fishing. Boat rentals are available in Lake Placid and Saranac Lake. Winter guests enjoy world class skiing and snowboarding at Whiteface Mountain, cross country skiing, and ice skating. Attractions and events nearby include High Falls Gorge, John Brown's Farm, Lake Placid Horse Shows, and the Olympic Museum and Olympic Jumping Complex. You can even take a bobsled ride with a professional driver and brakeman! Many dining and shopping options are available in the Village of Lake Placid as well as in Keene and Keene Valley.

Check-in time is 4:00pm and check-out time is 10:00am. Early check-in and/or late check-out may be available if approved in advance by the owner. An additional fee will apply.

This was a beautiful home with a lovely, wraparound porch and large sloping yard with views of white face mountain. The house was clean with nice, comfortable beds and with easy access to both Jay and Keene Valley. We had a great stay!

This is a spectacular home with the beautiful Adirondack mountains in your backyard. The house is lovely. Plenty of room. Kitchen well equipped. I loved spending just hanging out on the porch enjoying the beautiful views, both day and night. I haven't seen so many in stars in a long time.. I would love there all year long if I could.

This was the perfect cabin to get away!! Amazing view of Whiteface, HUGE backyard, and a nice big porch to enjoy and take it all in(: We had such a peaceful relaxing stay. Very clean cabin. Susan was very nice and personable! She made me feel very comfortable to reach out if I needed to! We will definitely be staying here again!!

Jay Mountain Retreat is a hidden gem. It is a large property surrounded by wilderness offering a relaxing getaway with all the modern amenities. While we were there in winter, for the World Cup at Mt. Van Hoevenberg, it would be fabulous in any season for hiking, fishing or just enjoying nature. The owner was very responsive to our questions, and made sure the driveway was plowed in a timely fashion. There are two delicious restaurants at the bottom of the mountain and Keene has a few more options to offer. We recommend this VRBO and friends just rented in April. We hope to return sometime.

What a wonderful home! The house is lovely, cozy, very clean, and super comfortable,. We loved being surrounded by wilderness, yet close to Keene and Wilmington. The property is gorgeous, with a spectacular view of Whiteface. We will definitely come again!

Life in Jay

The home was very nice and clean. We had a great view of Whiteface sunset from the check. Fully stocked as described. Close enough to Whiteface and store in Wilmington had a good selection of food supplies.
