About this property

Great Home For Penn State Fans

Only 9 miles from Penn State, this charming brick home in a friendly neighborhood on Halfmoon Hill overlooks the valley and beautiful Victorian downtown Bellefonte, PA, which features many restaurants and shops. You'll enjoy two bedrooms with a spacious full bathroom upstairs and a convenient half bathroom downstairs. There are queen beds in both bedrooms and the living room includes a futon sofa that quickly converts to a full bed. Amenities include a washer and dryer in the lower level, cable TV in living room and back bedroom, and wireless internet. The kitchen amenities include cooking utensils and tableware, coffee maker, microwave, and modern stainless finish appliances including an electric range/oven and spacious refrigerator/freezer. Hardwood and tile floors throughout, with radiator heating in each room, and powerful a/c units upstairs and downstairs if needed. Relaxing porches extend across front and back of the home with pleasant views. The home has a spacious back yard. House-trained pets are welcome (our little dog visits in the home often but not during rented weekends). Off-street parking in private lot is suitable for up to four cars. Check in as early as 9:00 AM on Friday or whenever is convenient. Check out as late as 5:00 PM on Sunday if needed. The home is a few miles off Interstate 99 near the I-80 intersection, and a short drive to PSU campus and Beaver Stadium. No smoking inside, please. Smokers may use the porches. One bedroom upstairs is locked, used by owners for owner storage. The home sleeps 6 people, but with your own portable bedding you could include several more people if necessary.

Penn State Graduation 2024
We really enjoyed our stay. Very clean and comfortable. The location was closed enough to the Graduation activities and definitely would stay here again. I personally thought the Welcome gift was a nice personal touch!

Family reunion
Very clean. Very well cared for. The hosts even surprised us with some starter coffee and snacks. Very thoughtful! Perfect place for the four of us to meet. Our little pooch enjoyed his surprise treat too! Great experience!

perfect spot
This was the perfect spot to enjoy time with our PSU daughter for an ice hockey weekend (we won both!). This place is easy to access campus and was super clean and comfy. Bellefonte is such a cute little town and we also enjoyed exploring. Loved all the snacks left for us and our little Yorkie is still playing with the new toy that was left for him.

Wonderful place to stay
My husband and I could not have been happier with this lovely home. It was exceedingly clean, with lots of thoughtful extras provided. We had everything we needed for our stay. The neighborhood was quiet and great for walking our dogs. It was a nice easy ride to State College. We walked down to the shops in Bellefonte. Easy walk down, a little hilly on the way back! Thanks so much for all of your kindness.

About the host

Host profile image
I'm a professional stagehand and theatre professor and my wife Brenda is an administrator at Penn State's graduate business school. We split our time between our Bellefonte home, affectionately knows as "Halfmoon House" because of the location on Halfmoon Hill, and our other home in Selinsgrove, PA. This means Halfmoon House can always available on weekends if you need an excellent place to stay. We like to travel, and it makes us happy to help other travelers find a special place to rest and relax as they pass through our community. Whether you're visiting for a football game, a local event, or just looking for a getaway, Bellefonte is a great destination.

Why they chose this property

We love the location, overlooking a bustling little downtown but surrounded by a quiet, friendly neighborhood.

What makes this property unique

This home is compact but feels spacious because it was very well designed. It's historic in spirit, but with all the necessities of modern life. This is the quintessential "just right" house.
