This house had plenty of space for our large family to spread out and we enjoyed fires in the fire pit, swimming off the dock, playing the arcade games and frisbee golf. We would definitely stay here again!
Met up with family to celebrate a 50th wedding anniversary, and we had enough space to manage for both kids, adults, and older adults. Bedrooms were large, the place was clean, and the outside spaces were fantastic (porches, fire pit area, and dock). We really enjoyed the use of the kayaks to take in the beautiful views on the lake, and would definitely stay there again!
We had absolutely the best week! The property is beautiful with tons of space to spread out and enjoy all the amenities. Most enjoyed the porch views while others enjoyed floating. The water was clean and refreshing. The house is very clean and well stocked.
We had an excellent stay at Smith Mountain Lake. Holly and Delisa were very communicative and answered all my questions promptly. The house was clean and they even provided simple syrups with their coffee maker! Hope to come back soon!
The house is clean, exactly as described, and equipped with multiple amenities. Unlike a lot of places you can tell these hosts treat their guests the way they want to be treated. Everyone had a great time. Thank you so much for the hospitality. Bonuses:Water toysWood fire pit (and set up)Game room for kids (and adults)Toys for kids Chairs, life vests, Honestly I could go on and on. Let’s just say it’s so nice you stay looking for the chief steward and house chef. Loved this place.
My family really enjoyed our stay here. The house and amenities were fantastic. Only suggestion would be the bring a few extra towels or laundry and dishwasher detergent. Loved the second floor porch, the game room and the dock. Having a golf cart was really helpful! We enjoyed boating right from the house. Check out Bridgewater Marina while you’re there for food, shops, mini golf and live music. Mitchell’s Point was a nice lunch spot from the boat too. Host was very responsive and helpful. We would definitely book again.
The house was perfect for our two families and the 10 kids we have! The rooms are spacious and the owners have really thought of almost everything that would be needed!! We were met with quick responses when we had questions and they accommodated us too when we asked to have access to boat slip! The cove is perfect for the kids to play in the water, fish, kayak and make endless memories on the Lilly pad! We made a couple trips out to Bridge Plaza, one via boat and once via car. Both about 30 minute trips each way. The pizza place is awesome there and the mini-golf was a perfect adventure. We had a wonderful first visit to SML and we can’t wait to come back! The Dock is where we got fuel for the boat and the catfish/karp were a huge hit! Bring popcorn!
Know ahead of time: Bring your own toilet paper, paper towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash. (And iron/ironing mat if needed.)Our party of 11 arrived to only 8 bath towels in the whole house and none of the above supplies. The cleaner brought more towels the next morning - enough for one per person, and we did a load of towels in the laundry every day.Overall, this lakehouse was amazing, and we really enjoyed our stay! We'd stay again in a heartbeat. The fire pit was the neatest one I've seen, the kayaks were really fun, the layout of bedrooms was perfect for our group, the house was beautifully decorated. The game room was fun even for adults. The hammocks on the back patio were a neat touch. The kitchen was stocked very well. The house was clean, homey, felt bright and cheerful and exceedingly comfortable. We spent many hours on the second story back deck, and the furniture there was really nice. The setting is gorgeous, and you can really see the level of detail and care the owners put into the property.
The entire stay was seamless and full of thoughtful touches from booking to check out. The hosts are very responsive to messages and questions (and I had lots!) and made sure our group of 11 had everything we needed. The house itself is bright, clean, and with a great layout for large groups. Everyone had their private space with bedrooms and bathrooms, but we were able to maneuver the kitchen to prepare food and enjoy eating all together on the expansive second story deck. The views of the lake were serene and the firepit was a lovely bonus for the cool nights. The teenagers loved the kayaks and the parents enjoyed watching them maneuver the water. It had just rained so the lake was a bit murky, but fine for the kayaking. Really appreciated the life jackets. The kitchen is incredibly well stocked with thoughtful touches like little sauce bowls and plenty of baking and serving dishes. And we never ran out of utensils...which for many grownups and kids drinking coffee and eating breakfast is a testament to how many spoons are available! The kids loved the game room and set some new records on the working arcade games. No quarters needed :)And everyone commented on how comfy the beds were, which is a huge plus when you're dealing with so many sleepers. We truly enjoyed the home and it made the graduation celebration that much more special that we could spend so much time all together and comfortable.Would definitely stay again!
The property was large enough to accommodate our large family reunion of 12 adults and two toddlers with space to spare. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. Bedrooms and bathrooms were available on all levels of the house. A bathroom equipped with grab rails and a walk-in shower was availabe on the main floor in one of the bedrooms. The property has beautiful lake views and we loved sitting down by the water on the docks. It is a steep walk to the docks and back to the house as the property is sloped so I highly recommend using the golf cart. The property offers several activities on site which we loved. Family loved playing cornhole, and horseshoes. We used the gameroom daily. We loved playing table shuffleboard. We made smores at the fire pit. The deck on the main level was spacious and offered lots of seating and dining options. On the lower patio the were 2 hammock chair swings. I found them to be relaxing and peaceful. My 3 year old granddaughter absolutely loved the circle disc swing and was fascinated by the wildlife that visited frequently. Highly recommend and would stay here again in the future. The host was very responsive and helpful. Thank you for sharing your piece of paradise with us! Melissa
This is a great vacation home on SML. The home has plenty of space and levels for everyone to spread out. Bedrooms and bathrooms all spacious and well equipped. Comfortable beds in all rooms. The basement was a huge success for young adults to hangout and have some fun. Plenty of activities inside for their enjoyment. Outside space is spectacular. Horseshoes, Frisbee golf, fire-pit, basketball, and plenty of green space to enjoy watching the deer and their 4 babies, turkeys with little ones and all the birds, squirrels. The porch is fantastic for relaxing. The water levels were a little low, but everyone enjoyed themselves. The frog pad was a huge success as well. We even caught a few fish off the doc. Golf cart was great for helping to get people up and down the hill to the lake, but you can slso walk it as well. State Park area is only 14 minutes away and provides an extra place to swim with a beach area, rentals and snacks for a great day as well. Pizza place close by that has excellent pizza's, sandwiches and such. Could not ask for a better place to stay at the lake with family and friends. Can’t wait to book again next year.
