This is our third year staying at the cabin and it’s always a great experience. So quiet, relaxing and comfortable. It has everything we need. Gayle is a tremendous host and makes the check in seamless. Lord willing, we’ll be back next year.
It was everything we hoped it would be. The host was very informative with places to go. She sent a long email about things we should know once we got to the cabin. How to work lights inside and out how to work the air conditioning units etc. We did not need to contact her about anything she covered all of it. We really enjoyed our stay. I highly recommend this rental. . You literally need clothes and your food for your stay. We will definitely go back. Very clean beautiful and relaxing
This property was everything it said it was, and so much more! Everyone in my Family enjoyed themselves and though intimate, there is plenty of private space to relax and have a quiet moment. We will always make reservations at this location when visiting Hardy County, absolutely wonderful. Gayle, the Host, delivered!! Everything was PERFECT!
We were very impressed with the property and quietness of this place. Sounds of birds and the brook are the backdrop. It had everything we needed, screened in porch was one of our favorite spots to hang out. Gayle was always quick to respond with any questions. We hope to return next year.

We look forward to your return visit. Glad you had a wonderful vacation
We loved the screened in porch. It was perfect for quiet summer nights. And the A/C inside was a much needed break from the heat. House is very well maintained and there were no bugs inside! Made a campfire one night and cooked on the grill another. Will come back
We had a wonderful time. It was beautiful and peaceful. Thank you very much. We would like to bring our 4 kids with us to your place in the near future. They are all teenage kids.

Thank you so much. We would love to have you and your kids visit anytime.
We loved the cabin, very comfortable and charming. The screened porch outside was excellent and we spent most of our time there. The road noise was a little higher than we expected but not bad. Also, there was a kids camp across the creek bed that provided happy sounds but it was a little noisy at times. Finally, the creek was a bit on the dry side though I suspect that it was seasonal as many of the water features we observed in the area were low. Wardensville was a nice quiet little town that was fun to visit. Overall, a nice, relaxing getaway with an excellent host!

Beautiful house right on the River and at the entrance to George Washington National Forest
This is a great house and Gayle was great to work with too. The best parts about the house was that it was clean, comfy, had all the amenities of home and was right on the river. Gayle gave us great tips on what to do in town and we had a great time hiking to Tibbet Knob (same parking lot as Big Schloss). The only thing that I could improve our experience would be to have a couple of wifi repeaters to improve the wifi connection in the kitchen and on the back porch. That being said, being unplugged can be blissful and we look forward to visiting again!! :-)

Fantastic cabin - perfect for a restful weekend away
Our family (my husband, myself, and our four teenage children) had a fabulous time this weekend at the Cabin at trout run. There were plenty of beds for all (I wasn't sure since there aren't photos online of every room) and gayle had them all made up for us when we arrived. The creek runs just behind the house and we spent hours in the screened porch eating, talking and playing games. Several of us took advantage of a few hours without rain to hike Big Schloss trail - it was beautiful! But mostly we hung out at the cabin since we had rain most of the weekend. We had everything we needed to cook meals, make coffee, etc. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return. Thanks for everything Gayle!

Perfect!!
The cabin was ideal! So spacious but cozy too. The kitchen had everything we needed, we just supplied the food. Very clean. So welcoming. We had a long weekend with our three college-aged boys, and it was wonderful. We sat on the screened in porch any time we weren't enjoying the spacious yard. So private. The creek was low but still gurgled for us and was a real treat right outside of the cabin. We loved the antiques and "cabin" feel even though the cabin felt more like a home. We are ready to move in, if it ever is sold!!! :) Absolutely a wonderful choice. Our family would highly recommend this VRBO!! Thanks for sharing with us!!

I am so glad you enjoyed your stay at the cabin. We love it too !
My family really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was much larger then I pictured. There was plenty of space to play together or find a separate area to relax. There is a nice table to eat inside but we never used it. The screened in porch was too nice. It really kept out the bugs and rain. Plus the fan right over the porch table made it comfortable even in the heat.
The cabin has a well stocked kitchen. She even supplied toliet paper, paper towels, and soap. There are plenty of inside and outside games. As others have stated the best part is the creek! It was perfect for wadding and playing in. When we were there the creek was gentle enough for our toddler while still being fun for our elementary student. I loved lounging on the screened porch listening to the creek.
Gayle was great at communicating. She helped us prepare for our trip and kept us up to date on happenings in town. We took the horse back riding trip and a hike she recommended. They were some of our favorite activities.
The upstairs is quite large with a loft and separate bedroom with two twin beds. It's easily the biggest room. However, the spiral staircase leading up is pinch scary even for adults. Our adventures toddler freaked out on the third stair. This area is best used for grade schoolers or teenagers.
My friend and I came to sit on the screened in porch and enjoy the “babbling brook.” It was lovely! Rainy weather the whole time but it was a cozy getaway few days. Would love to stay here again! The owner, Gayle, was very helpful and made sure we had everything we needed.!
This house is amazing and Gayle was so helpful and quick to answer any questions. We had so much fun at this property. The beds are very comfortable and the house is just adorable. Everything you cold possibly need was there. We have family in Wardensville so we already knew about many of the places to go and see but it was so neat that was all there for new comers. I really can’t say how much we enjoyed our stay and hope to do it again.
The owner is very kind and thoughtful - provided ideas and references for places to go and so on. The cabin is in a great location, and has lots of nice amenities. It was a great vacation!
We had such a great experience! Our second year staying, and we hope it’s not our last. Gayle was amazing in her quick responses and caring about our stay. The property speaks for itself- quiet, comfortable and perfect for relaxing.
The Cabin was perfect for us! Awesome screened in wrap around porch, all kinds of games, a double carport, queen bed was very comfy, large living/ dining area, and whole place was VERY SPACIOUS!
The Cabin at Trout Run was excellent for us! The owner, Gayle, was very responsive and helpful! The cabin is very well equipped...had everything we needed and more. The outdoor areas of the property are lovely and very peaceful, and it is situated near many short drive-to hiking areas! We especially enjoyed the screened in porch area and the big assortment of games. We would defnitely come back again! Thanks, Gayle!
The cabin was spacious, comfortable, supplied with everything we needed and much more, all in a beautiful setting. Our host, Gayle, provided detailed information to ensure a stress-free and enjoyable visit. Wish we had stayed longer!
We stayed in this area to motorcycle ride and it did not disappoint at all. There’s not much in the area so prepare to have food at the house which we had and the house was perfect for gathering back at the end of the day. Home was well stocked, cozy and had everything we needed. The host was easy to reach and answered questions quickly. We all enjoyed the stay and didn’t want to leave.
Loved the porch we spent most of our time there and it was our favorite place, it could have been
