About this property

Deepwater Charm in Beaufort SC with Private Dock

This comfortable 3-bedroom home is situated on a quiet street in a family-oriented neighborhood on Little Lucy Creek in beautiful Beaufort by the Sea. You’ll unwind and relax on the private dock or in the Carolina room and enjoy extensive views of the water from almost every room.
The home has been tastefully renovated to provide open, airy living/dining/kitchen areas with hardwood floors and an interesting collection of Low Country original Gullah folk art.
The fully equipped kitchen has all newer appliances including ceramic cooktop, microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator with ice maker. The pantry is stocked with basic ingredients including seasonings, spices, oils and vinegars. A small outside garden contains basic herbs and a gas grill is located on the side patio off the dining room.
The primary bedroom has a queen size pillowtop bed, a full ensuite bathroom, a large walk-in closet and fabulous marsh views. There is a sliding door from the bedroom leading directly to the Carolina room. Waking up to the sunrise is the joy of sleeping in this bedroom.
One of the guest bedrooms has a queen size pillowtop bed and the other has two extra-long twin beds. These two bedrooms share a second full guest bathroom. There is also an outdoor shower with hot and cold water. This shower is heavenly after a long day on the beach, especially accompanied with a cold beer.
The Carolina room is fully enclosed, gets lovely breezes and has 180° views of the creeks and marsh. There is an osprey nest 50 yards from our dock where we’ve been watching a pair of ospreys and their babies for years. We have several sets of binoculars and bird books for your bird watching pleasure.
You'll love reading, fishing, shrimping, crabbing, and having 'docktails on our great covered dock with ceiling fan to keep you cool and skeeter free on hot summer nights. You will see the dolphins swim, play, and fish in the creek... it's fun to watch!
The home is 4 miles from major supermarkets and other stores and restaurants and we are just 5 miles from downtown Beaufort and minutes from Parris Island. The town of Beaufort is steeped in Civil War history and pre-Civil War architecture. Beautiful Antebellum mansions grace avenues along the Beaufort River. The Beaufort River is also home to the Beaufort Water Festival where 50,000+ boats congregate on the Beaufort sandbar for 2 weeks in July for some sun, fun & lots more. Enjoy the boat during the day & the Waterfront Park in downtown Beaufort at night. There will be everything from 'Motown Monday' concerts to Headliner music stars for weekend concerts. Soak up some sun or some history on a carriage ride through town and the Old Point. See several sites where movies have been filmed, shop along Bay Street, visit the numerous art galleries and antique shops, and dine in some of the many excellent local restaurants.
Whatever your pleasure is, you can bring your boat and tie up at our private dock. You can tour Beaufort by the way of your boat or just explore the waters & islands connected without any car traffic...Just yield for the other boaters! There is so much to do in Beaufort, it's hard to pick just one activity!
Just 20 minutes away is Hunting Island State Park with 3 miles of wide pristine beaches - voted 7th of the top 25 beaches in the U.S. by Travelers Choice. There are also walking and bike trails through the forest near the lagoon. Climb the lighthouse and look for dolphins, pelicans and bald eagles - they are there! You might also want to stop on the way home from the beach and buy some freshly caught fish or shrimp right where the shrimp boats come in!
Lastly, there are several fine public golf courses and tennis courts within 15 minutes of the house if a little more activity is your thing!

Not sure where to start; this home is amazing and the owner is also amazing always available to assist with any issues if you should have any. The home is so well equipped, I don't believe you need anything that is not there; so comfortable. Just the view from the bluff, of Little Lucy Creek and the wetlands across the way are worth your stay. Egrets of all kinds are everywhere and if you look at high tide there is a good chance you will see a dolphin cruising by. Deep water for fishing I caught Spot Tails, Black Drum, Grunts, Whiting and of course Stingrays. Fill up the bird bath and the bird feeder and the birds, squirrels and deer will be by to visit. The deer usually get a drink of water from the bird bath at night. If you want to party go somewhere else, this a very quiet respectable neighborhood. All the neighbors know each other; they are out walking in the mornings and are so friendly. On Saturday morning 9 til 12 you need to visit the Farmers Market at Port Royal. Only local producers are there. I can't even start to list everything available, you will be amazed. We enjoy the restaurant at the golf course that is just across 802 (Sam's Point Rd) from from the house. This is not just any golf course eatery they have a great chef and menu. Sit at the bar and visit with the locals. They make you feel welcome. Morgans Grill on Dataw Island is also a favorite of us. We visit Beaufort every year for our anniversary; Thank You Terry!!

Nice area and view
Pros: Nice view, well stocked, clean. Cons: Didn't see any smoke detectors, some outside lights didn't work, on the last night the Direct TV wouldn't let us have access without paying the bill.

About the host

Hosted by Eleanor (Terry) Coyne

We owners, weary of grey Pennsylvania winters, were looking for a southern location near beaches, nature, golf, tennis, and sun. To our delight, we found beautiful Beaufort – a diverse community, steeped in history, architecture, nature and more. Beaufort more than fit our requirements.

Why they chose this property

We have spectacular views of creeks and miles of marsh, which changes by the hour and colors change by the season, gorgeous sunrises and soft shadows at sunset. We watch a pair of osprey rearing their family just near our dock and wait for the slight “whoosh” that signals dolphins swimming in creek.

What makes this property unique

Gorgeous views.. amazing dock.. fishing, crabbing, shrimping, etc. right from dock.. wonderful wildlife.. close to beaches, shopping, sightseeing, golfing, tennis, Farmer's Markets, and many other fabulous things... Bring your boat, dock on our private dock & explore beautiful Beaufort in your boat. No landing traffic!!
