Sanibel Family Adventure March 2025

This lovely home has it all! It is beautifully decorated in an island theme. Each bedrooom and bath is charming and very comfortable. The kitchen is appointed with everything you need for large family celebrations and meals. The appliances are wonderful and high end. We really appreciated two dishwashers and two washers and dryers with our large family gathering. The pool was the highlight for everyone-especially our grandchildren. The beach is a short 5 minute walk away. The house has a wonderful beach wagon full of EVERYTHING you need for a fun day including umbrellas, cooler, beach blanket, chairs and shelling equipment. We also appreciated the piles of beach towels! Our hosts were the very best! Ilene and Scott were extremely responsive to our questions. We could not have asked for a more perfect experience. We hope to to be back in 2026.

Our love of Sanibel dates back to 1981 and a high school trip to the island. We were immediately drawn to the slower pace, incredible views, sunsets, shells, and the island's commitment to environmental conservation. Our vacations to Sanibel continued for decades following that trip, and as we got older, those trips included our extended family, and visits to local real estate agents to begin looking for our dream home. After years of searching, we were lucky enough to find this home. Many people had overlooked the potential this home had, but we were certain we could turn it into our island oasis. We purchased the home just before covid hit in early 2020, and our remote renovation was stalled due to lack of supply of materials and labor. Toward the end of 2023, we were just about finished with our extensive renovation when Hurricane Ian landed on the island. Everything we had renovated was destroyed and the hurricane caused additional damage to the house and grounds. When we were finally able to get access to the island and the house, we had to begin a massive clean up and mold remediation that took months. Then, round two of the renovation began. All new sheetrock, floors, electrical wiring, appliances, fixtures, pool, landscaping, garage, decks, furniture, etc. The second renovation took us over a year and we could not be more pleased with the results. This home represents our hopes and dreams, and so much work. We hope you'll enjoy it as much as we do.

Welcome to your luxurious vacation on Sanibel Island. Our near beach home is on a quiet cul-de-sac street, centrally located on the Gulf side of the island, with easy access to shopping, the bike path and the beach. Our home offers the perfect blend of elegance, comfort and convenience for your beach retreat.

What makes this property unique

Exterior features:
The house has a beautifully landscaped yard with dramatic evening landscape lighting, a large front porch with seating, an inviting fire pit area with plenty of room to gather, and deeded beach access. There is a covered lanai and a screened-in salt water pool with a bubbler fountain. The lanai features lounge chairs, and pool recliners. There are plenty of outdoor eating areas on the lanai or the back deck, which includes a Weber gas grill. For your beach outings, we have a beach cart equipped with four chairs, two umbrellas and a cooler.

Interior features:
The house features five bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom for the ultimate in privacy and comfort. Two primary suites offer king size beds, two bedrooms offer queen size beds, and the final bedroom has bunk beds, and is perfect for kids. There is also a queen size sleeper sofa in the den to accommodate additional guests. Each bedroom is also equipped with a designer organized closet. The house could sleep up to 12 guests.

The gourmet kitchen is equipped with high-end stainless steel appliances, including two dishwashers, making it easy to entertain and keep things tidy. Included are indoor and outdoor dishes, cookware, bakeware, plenty of glassware, and the walk-in pantry is stocked with a microwave and small appliances like a toaster, Vitamix blender, waffle iron, dehydrator, and a food processor. We have a coffee station with a Brevelle espresso/coffee maker and a Keurig machine. Enjoy your meals on a custom, locally harvested cypress dining table. There is a reverse osmosis water filtration system at the kitchen sink for drinking water.

The laundry room is equipped with two washers and dryers, an ironing board and folding station. The entertainment room offers a large LG television, board games and puzzles for loads of family fun. Rounding out the home is a 3 zone air conditioning system, ceiling fans, a 2 car garage and luxury furnishings throughout.
