Shoal Creek Gibbons Home - Wilson Lake Florence Alabama

2025 Update: The property is now equipped with a fenced-in area for the fur babes to run free!

The Kayaks have arrived!! Four of them, actually...w/ life vests and paddles too. They are now available to all guests (with adult supervision). :)

SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS:
The house will comfortably sleep 8 adults in a King bedroom, two Queen bedrooms, and one queen sleeper sofa. The other options (three double high queen air mattresses) are probably more feasible for kids/teens. If additional adult sleeping accommodations are needed, please be sure to ask about the availability of the 2 BR/2 BA guest house that is located on the property at a lower rate.

Perfectly located on Shoal Creek at the mouth of Wilson Lake, you will find no other like this. With 250' of waist deep water along the seawall that gradually deepens for swimming and fishing, and a large leveled ground with no slopes or steep steps to the water, people of all ages can enjoy themselves wading in the lake while enjoying the company of others on the bank.

We are confident that you will enjoy your time at our totally renovated and updated Shoal Creek Gibbons Home. We are located minutes from town, however you will feel as though you are in your own little world.

If you do decide to venture out on the town for a bit or to tour the beautiful places that Florence and the Shoals area has to offer, you will be pleasantly surprised to find everything and every place within minutes of the house.

We have tried our best to make our home as comfortable and homey for others as we prefer for ourselves. Most any amenity that you may need or want is available.

Having two kitchens, plenty of seating, and an open gathering area, our home is not only great for family outings, fishermen getaways, and vacations but also perfect for wedding receptions, family reunions, baby showers, business meetings, small wedding ceremonies, youth group outings, bridal showers, etc. We will also consider monthly corporate/business stays. Nightly rates/cleaning fees may be increased with larger groups.

Private pier with boat lift.

New state owned/public boat ramp is now open - directly to your right (off the highway) as you enter the street our home is located.

The Shoals is also the location documented in the 'Muscle Shoals' movie!

TWO NIGHT MINIMUM! Three to five night minimum on certain holidays!!

Great house with tons of room inside and out to enjoy. Spotless interior and many options for sitting outside to enjoy the lake. Highly recommend this rental for activities in the Shoals area. We will be back.

Great Views and Wonderful Location!

The property was fantastic! The views of the lake were great. We brought our dogs and the yard and road where the property was located was a great place for walking the dogs. A very enjoyable stay!

Night Fishing

This house is great, lots of room and right next to a launch site. Our husbands had a night fishing tournament and it was just perfect for the weekend.

7 men fishing the BFL regional on Pickwick Lake

The place was more then what we were exspecting. The location was great, resturants were close by. Everyone talked about returning next summer with their families. The owners went above and beyond to make the stay there great. Will be using this place if we ever come back to Pickwick or Wilson Lakes.

Enjoyable Time

Our family was so blessed to stay in this Lakehouse. We enjoyed the layout of the home and especially the open dining area and living room. This home has history, and it was so amazing to read the history about this home. WHAT A HERITARY!!! Our family celebrated Christmas and it felt like home. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to stay in this Lakehouse.

Great getaway

We really enjoyed our weekend trip to this rental. We reserved the main house and the guest house. We had plenty of space for everyone. It was wonderful to see the water views from all the main areas of the house. There were plenty of amenities. We loved using the kayaks and fishing from the deck. Highly recommend!!

Amazing House and Hospitality

This house was so beautiful! We rented it for my sons groomsmen and their wives and babies! We also rented the guest house for my son and his new bride for their wedding night. The owners were so amazing to deal with and so accommodating. We will definitely be renting again so we can just rest and enjoy the beautiful house and view!

Gorgeous Home!

Home is gorgeous, clean and well maintained - had everything you would need for your stay and then some. Angela was very helpful and could not have been nicer. Loved watching the turtles across the inlet, the ducks, the fish and the boats going by. Its a very quiet and peaceful setting. We will definitely be back.

Barrett Girls Weekend

All girls weekend for a time of relaxing, renewing minds and rejuvenating the soul. This was the perfect backdrop for a great weekend! Owners Bobby and Angela went our of their way to make us feel welcome. I am going back to this beautiful lake home-just wait to you get to read the story book!

Awesome Experience!!

I would recommend this HOME to anyone! We had a great time and Bobby and Angela were awesome, and made us feel at home!! They supplied everything you could possibly need. Just bring your clothes and food and you are set!!! They knew we were in town for a high school fishing tournament and left the boys a treat, and they were so excited!!! Even this group of high school boys talked about how nice it was:) We will definately be going back to visit!!!

Wonderful Time!

We had a wonderful time at the lake! We actually live in the area and were looking for a place to rent and not have to leave town. We were able to take our boat and have a blast using this lake house. You cannot beat the location! The house was in wonderful shape and had everything we needed. The owners were very welcoming and you could not ask for more helpful people. They made sure everything was to our liking. We had two couples each with a two year old child and the kids had a blast also. We hope to be able to rent this home again soon!

Highly Recommend!!

We stayed for the weekend and could not say enough good things about the owners and the house. The owners were extremely caring as we were trying to find our way by water from Iuka to the house. They stayed on the phone with us as long as we needed and even called back to make sure we arrived safely. The house is immaculate and stocked with everything you can imagine. We had 11 people staying in the house and were extremely comfortable. They think of every detail and genuinely care about their guests. I would rent for the entire summer if I could.

Amazing!

We just spent three wonderful nights at this beautiful home. Bobby and Angela have done an amazing job decorating and supplying the home with quality amenities! We've stayed in many VRBOs and none compare to this property, the owners have thought of everything imaginable. Just pack your clothes and food and don't worry about anything else, it's already in the home!!! The booking process and communication with Angela was super easy. Perfect Weekend!

This was by far the best house we have ever stayed in at the lake. Angela and Bobby made us feel so welcome. I felt like I had known them my whole life. They went above and beyond my expectations. The house had every imaginable amenity you could think of . It was beautifully decorated. The location was outstanding and the layout of the house was amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our weekend and will definitely return next year. Thank you Angela and Bobby for your generous hospitality! Your willingness to open up your 'home" to us was greatly appreciated! You are the best!

Nothing to say but Awesome!

My oldest told me last year she wanted a lake weekend for her 21st birthday this June. Found this place and it was perfect for our friends and family. The pictures do not do this place justice! The main house was better stocked than our house is typically and so, so cozy. Perfect place for gatherings. The guest house was available separately and it was just as warm and cozy. Her birthday weekend was exactly what she envisioned. We brought our boats for all of the water fun. But hanging off the back deck, kayaking, swimming and just enjoying the fellowship and food was the best. This place is a definite gem of the Shoals area. Thanks to Angela and Bobby! Greatest hosts ever!!

Simply Amazing!

This is what a VRBO rental should be! Clean, stocked, great communication, modern, everything works as it should! I have rented several places near this one over the past several years, and NOTHING compares with this property. Boat pier was great for my 25 ft Tritoon Boat. There is electric down at the pier which was great to help keep my trolling batteries charged overnight without having to deal with100's of feet of extension cords like we did at the other places we rented in the past. Also, no large hills or stairs to climb to get to and from the boat, which was helpful to some of my guests. Angela and Bobby are amazing hosts! We will defiantly be back!

My wife along with my aunt and uncle stayed for a few days and just adored the place. Very well furnished, absolutely nothing lacking. The house has an open peace fullness about it that just makes one relax. We did some fishing off the back and caught a few catfish,crappie and small mouth bass, Mostly we just visited and relaxed and recharged our batteries.They made some ramps to help with the wheel chairs for some of the stepups. I thought that was very thoughtful of them considering it was'nt requested on our part. I would recommend this place to anyone with kids, young or old they will love the place. The other thing we loved about the place is the covenience of nearby restaurants and stores. We plan on visiting again ourselves.

Clean, Comfortable, Convenient- Thanks for the Memories!

My sister and I booked this home for a multi-generational family fun weekend. I have rented several VRBO properties but I believe this is the cleanest one I have stayed in! It is very well stocked and at every turn you can see the attention to detail and personal touches of the owners. There are two distinct living areas and two separate decks so everyone can spread out. It was very convenient, located right at Shoals Creek bridge. The thing that sets this property apart is the lot. It is a very level lot with a sidewalk right up to the water! The flatness of the property makes it great for older folks. The grandparents were able to sit up on the deck, prop their feet up on the railing, and watch all their kids and grandkids play in the water. The experience is truly priceless. Thanks for a offering you home as a vacation rental so that families like us can share it and make memories! We will definitely be return guests.

We are just a couple of the many family members that have enjoyed this special home on Shoal Creek. Keeping with the open house feel that we have all always known and loved, we made the decision to let others enjoy it too!

Why they chose this property

The land was first purchased by the family in 1964 and has been 'home' to many. Countless wonderful memories have been made with family and friends through the years.

What makes this property unique

The most unique benefit of our home is most definitely its close proximity to the water. The house is literally inches from the water on flat ground! Another specialty would be the near distance to all restaurants, shopping centers, and many attractions that Florence and The Shoals has to offer! And we must not forget the fish - OH, THE FISH! - Many bass, catfish and others...a/k/a: THE BIG ONE...have been reeled in at the house over the years!
