Suite Escape Mountainside Retreat with full deck. Pet friendly!

We are in the middle of everything that people come to Maggie Valley for. Our intention is for your stay to be a memorable experience!
Suite Escape is in a peaceful setting surrounded by nature. It is a stylishly decorated ground level of our home with a private entrance.
The kitchen is complete with a full size refrigerator, convection/toaster oven, microwave oven, electric skillet, hot plate with ceramic saucepan, regular drip and Keurig coffee makers. Cable TV is available in both the living room with DVD player and the bedroom. You have your own private deck that runs the length of the house. You may take the table and chairs outside on the deck for al fresco dining. There is a heated mattress pad on the king size bed for frosty nights! Additionally, the sofa in the living room is a queen size sleeper sofa. We use all organic and non-toxic cleaning products.
Guest Access: The entrance door has a keyless entry system & guests will be issued a unique passcode before arrival.
Guests may use the driveway to unload. Parking is available on the upper level for your vehicles. We are motorcycle friendly. We may share our garage space by special arrangement.

Interaction with Guests

We live on the upper level of the home, so most of the time we'll be available to our guests. We are happy to loan household items as needed and offer recommendations . Washer and Dryer may be available for use by special arrangement.

The Neighborhood

Our neighborhood is a great place to walk. If you like to hike, you can go all the way to the top of the mountain and Maggie Overlook!
We are near some great restaurants and local shops, and we're walking distance from the Maggie Valley Festival Grounds. It's a 10 minute drive to Waynesville and the grocery store, 12 minutes to Cataloochee Ski Lodge. It's 20 minutes to Cherokee and the Great Smoky Mountain Nat'l Park.

Getting Around

It is recommended to have your own vehicle. If you will be coming in the winter, 4WD or AWD is helpful. However, if we have heavy snow, you can park at the bottom of Summit. Let us know and we will help you up the 0.4 mile to the house.

Other Things to Note

We are biker friendly. We are 4/10 mile from the highway, and there is a bit of a climb, but bikes pass by our house all the time!

Just a wonderful getaway. The Suite Escape exceeded our expectations. Everything we would have wanted or needed was anticipated and at our fingertips. The bed was comfortable, the suite very homey and well appointed, and the views are spectacular. Linda and Mel were simply the best hosts. We are looking forward to returning.

This was not a good choice for us. We had a truck,trailer and motorcycle. The road is a very steep one lane, dead end moutain road with two way traffic. Parking the trailer is doable but not at all easy. There is no flat spot to park or turn a 900 pound motorcycle around. Again, it's doable but very difficult. The accommodations and layout of the unit was nice enough, however, there was a very strong musty, soggy dog smell in the unit. Unfortunately the owner was not available during our visit so we were unable to address any of the issues with them during our stay.

When you checked out, I asked you, in a text message, if there was anything that we could have done better. Your response was "your Suite is cosy & adorable. You did a fantastic job at providing information & many bonus items to make our stay enjoyable-including a welcome note...treats...maps...coffee & creamer...toiletries ...menus...local site information & even a grocery discount card. Instruction for tv-every detail attended to. Decorated perfectly. Very warm & inviting." These comments did not appear in your review! That's why we were shocked to get a 2 star rating. What appeared in your review was your difficulty with truck, trailer & motorcycle. I'm not a biker so I won't comment other than to say that we regret what you experienced. You also mentioned, in your review, a smell in the Suite & that the owner was not available so you were unable to address any of the issues. The day after you arrived you wrote "we are pretty much all set up. Ambrose(our housesitter) also offer to help out if we need anything." Ambrose also helped you when your bike fell over. Why didn't you contact me or Ambrose regarding the smell so that we could have done something about it while you were in the Suite for a week? To our Future guests: I take reviews personally. I want everyone that we host to have a memorable experience. After almost 11 years, our overall rating on VRBO is 9.8 out of 10 with 142 5* reviews. I'll let that speak for itself.

What made "Suite Escape" so amazing? Several things did...first let me start off with the host, they were nothing short of amazing. Every thought was put into welcoming us and our fur babies. Second, the place was so cozy and quaint. Thirdly, it was a good spot in driving to everywhere we wanted to sightsee. Our host recommended a few great places that we tried and loved. You cannot go wrong if you choose the "Suite Escape" as to where you stay in Maggie Valley, NC on your next adventure.

Cool Escape from FL in the Summer Heat. Felt like living in a tree house. 30 foot Private deck and private entrance give you lots of privacy. Owners couldn't be nicer or more gracious.Pet friendly a big plus for me.

Mel and Lynda moved from the Tampa Bay area in 2009 because we love the mountains and four beautiful seasons! We love meeting new people, and sharing our experience of the area with them. We own Mountain Spirit Wellness in Maggie Valley, so you have massage and yoga classes at your fingertips.
With 5 children between us, we enjoy traveling to visit family, and also parts of the world we've never seen.

Why they chose this property

The neighborhood is a forest and so peaceful. We loved the cathedral ceiling and windows on the main floor, and while inside the house, you don't see other houses - just wonderful nature!
It's also within 15 minutes of grocery shopping and other necessities, and only 30 minute drive to Asheville.

What makes this property unique

The deck is a special place to enjoy your morning coffee or an evening glass of wine - a great place to relax and hang out!
Suite Escape is off of the main road in Maggie Valley, so you are away from the traffic noise.
We supply water in the fridge, a variety of coffees and teas, creamers.
