Great location but very basic amenities and could definitely use some updating. My biggest complaint is that the main reason I picked this unit is the hot tub listed under amenities. Unfortunately, there is no hot tub, which was very disappointing. I would suggest taking that off the listing.

Thank you for sharing your feedback about our complex. Mountain Lodge aims to provide a high value experience, which includes access to our fireplace lounge, pool and ping pong tables, gym, the on-site climbing structure and ice skating rink. While there isn't a hot tub inside our specific building, there is access to the Split Rock pool complex—which features multiple hot tubs, a sauna, and heated pools—located just a one-minute walk from our door.
What an amazing place for us to experience our first 4848 Fesitivacation. Perfect size and set up for our family of 4! Thanks for letting us stay and we hope to be back next year.

Thanks for staying with us. Glad you had a great time!
This place is easy access to the slopes and The Village. It is as advertised in the pictures. It could use an update on decor but the location is what you are going for!
Great location for Slopeside skiing stay. Beds were uncomfortable and stove/oven did not work well, but convenient for skiing and accessing village! Not being able to control the heat and temperature in unit made 1st night uncomfortable, and then we had to keep the sliding door open and fans on to keep apartment comfortable temperature.
You can’t get much closer to the lifts which is why we chose this unit. Interior is a bit small but nice and comfortable. There is also lots of nice common space to hang out in if you want to get out of the room. Family type place and was fairly quiet which was a plus. Building is dated but that’s not important to us, we were there to ski. Pretty much as advertised. Good communication with owner.

We were supposed to check in at five, and that turned into six o’clock. The accommodations were ok, but not even close to being worth 1800 for 4 nights. The sinks in the bathrooms drained slow, and when showering you were standing in water bc the tubs didn’t drain well either. We just weren’t happy with what we got for the price!!!

Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear that your four-night stay didn’t meet your expectations. We always aim to provide a great experience for our guests, and we apologize for any inconvenience.
We appreciate you bringing the drainage issue to our attention, and we’ll have our staff look into it to ensure everything is in top condition. While we haven’t received similar complaints before or since, we take all concerns seriously and want to ensure the best experience for our guests. In the future, please don’t hesitate to let us know right away if anything needs attention—our on-site staff is always happy to assist with maintenance concerns.
We also regret the delay in your check-in. While the Mountain Lodge staff works hard to provide timely check-ins, busy weekends can sometimes lead to unexpected delays, and we appreciate your patience. Guests are welcome to park and use the lobby while waiting, should their room not be ready at the scheduled time. You had also requested an early check-in, and I mentioned in advance that this would likely not be possible due to a guest checking out that morning.
Regarding pricing, we strive to remain competitive with similar properties in the area, but we understand that value is subjective. We’re sorry that your experience didn’t meet expectations, and we truly appreciate your feedback as we continue working to improve. We hope to have the opportunity to host you again in the future.
We loved our stay, but parking was a bit of an issue.
Was our first time staying in the village and we loved it. Only issue we had was parking when we arrived on Saturday night. There were no spaces available in the mountain lodge lot and the other option was 1 mile away at Top of the World, which was not practical. So I circled the lot for about 45 minutes and finally saw someone leave. I think everyone staying at mountain lodge should have access to at least one spot. Other than that, we enjoyed our trip very much!

Hi Corey,
Thank you for choosing to stay with us, and I'm glad to hear you enjoyed your visit despite the parking challenges. I completely understand your frustration, and I agree that every guest should have a designated parking space. Unfortunately, we’ve encountered similar issues during peak weekends and holidays. Mountain Lodge HOA is actively working on improving the situation.
As a reminder, parking is offered on a first-come, first-served basis, and occasionally, this can lead to difficulties, especially during busy periods. If you experience this again in the future, please don’t hesitate to reach out directly. I’ll do my best to assist in finding an alternative solution.
Thank you again for your feedback, and we hope to welcome you back soon!
Carrie
Easy rental process and the owners are great to work with. It’s a close walk to the Village, which is nice. The walls/ceilings/floors are thin, so you will hear your neighbors at times and they will hear you as well. I would recommend a listing of what’s available in the kitchen. There wasn’t a cookie sheet, oven mitt/s or cooking utensils, which would have been nice to have since we prepared most of our meals in our room. We had to turn off the thermostat as it stayed too hot for our family.

Thanks for staying with us. Sorry the cookie sheet and oven mitts were missing during your stay. We came to visit, discovered they were missing and replaced them. I wish you had let me know about these items during your stay so I could address the issue immediately. Sorry you missed all of the kitchen tools and knives. They are stored in crockery on the shelf above the dining room table. In the future, please contact me so I can help
Let’s start with the good. Great location! Short walk out the door to the slopes and close to the stairs for a true ski in ski out experience.
And now the bad. The entire Mountain Lodge is dated and let’s just say less than clean throughout and our room was no different. Dirty carpets, dirty couches, pillows so stained they had plastic zip on pillow cases under the clean linens. Bathrooms and kitchen were fine overall. When the 15 yo boys noticed the dirt, I knew it was bad. Great location just clean it up! And buy a new couch!

Thanks for your feedback. We have brought your cleaning concerns to the staff at Mountain Lodge whose staffing has since changed since your stay. Also since the cleaning staff is onsite we can send them up to address any issues our guests might have.
Regarding the couch it has been replaced. Also we have updated the flooring with LVP and no longer have carpets.
The location of this condo makes access to the slopes very easy! It is about a 3-4 minute walk to the rental place and start of most slopes, a few are accessible right by the lodge. You do have to carry your skis for that walk unless you’re an avid cross country skier. There’s a great little food truck right outside of the lodge too (on the back slope side) that’s open from around 7-4. This mountain’s lifts close at 4 or 4:30 but there is night time skiing at Silver Creek & you can either drive or take a shuttle from the Village there.
The two beds in the room off the back of the condo facing the parking lot were extremely comfortable with kind of like a pillow top mattress feel. The en suite bedroom with just one bed has an incredibly firm mattress that no one in my party liked. The kitchen had everything I needed for basic cooking but the range wasn’t functioning in peak condition, one of the burners didn’t work at all and the other large burner was incredibly slow to heat. Nonetheless, I was able to feed my hungry skiers! The comfy sectional sofa had plenty of room for three of us to lounge after a day of skiing & there was plenty of hot water on demand!

Dana,
Thanks for staying with us and for your thorough review. We have since replaced the oven. I find beds are very subjective matter. We like the master bed as is but will look into getting a topper for those who don't agree. Thanks again for staying with us. We hope you will visit with us again soon, Carrie

Detailed Review
Mountain Lodge is well located, but please read the descriptions and look at the pictures closely. Pictures are fairly accurate, but the rooms are small, the ceilings are 7.5' tall and the space is congested for three adults (which we had). This unit beds and pillows were uncomfortable. The heat, even when turned off, stayed around 80 degrees.
The biggest issue with this unit may have more to do with current Snowshoe Covid policies. We were charges extensive "cleaning fees" that require the renter make beds on arrival, strip beds upon leaving, remove all trash and generally leave the unit clean. Our unit was still rather unclean on arrival and had a chronic smell from the previous tenant. No amenities are provided other than a basic bar of soap.
Cost relative to value may be a Snowshoe-wide problem, but I would not return to this unit, even if offered at 1/4 the price paid. We did rent on a very busy week (Monday and Tuesday), but a budget hotel has better amenities and space. Add in the cleaning fees combined with an obvious lack of cleaning, and this was a noteworthy enough stay to write a less than rosy review.
This review is simply informative so that renters have a better idea of what to expect. It certainly was not what we expected. Mountain Lodge is well located, but we will avoid all rentals in the building in the future.

JP, I am sorry you were not happy with your stay. I wish you had contacted me so I could have addressed most of your concerns. I also did not appreciate your threat to leave a bad review unless I refunded your stay.
It is true that the ceiling are 7’6”. This complex may not be a good fit for someone over 6’6”. We regularly accommodate 6 without complaint. We have sleeping, seating and dining space to accommodate six.
I’m sorry you did not care for the pillows and mattress. You are the first of my guests to complain about this.
I’m sorry you found the unit too warm. We have a wonderful full time, in house maintenance staff who could have come to assist you or you could opened the windows.
As you were advised prior to your stay Covid policies and the resulting lack of personnel has severely stretched the Mountain Lodge Staff. The items supplied in the units has also been limited to reduce waste. Housekeeping has been forced to change their normal cleaning process to accommodate both increased demand and additional sanitizing steps. The complex purchased specialized equipment to sanitize all surfaces. The staff must wait after a guest departure before they can enter the unit. They have been forced to spend less time with their normally extremely thorough cleaning and forced to focus on sanitizing. They spray both sides of every blanket and pillow. Then they must allow dwell time after they spray. In spite of being stretched thin, our staff is very responsive and are quick to address any complaints.
Mountain Lodge is the most affordable complex in the village. If you are seeing luxury accommodations you may want to look elsewhere.

This place was a mess and not even close to the pics. The place was dirty. There was food under the tables and around the stove. A dirty towel was still hanging up in the bathroom. The bed in the master felt like it was 50 years old and the headboard was loose and flopping around. There was no way to regulate the temp in the master bedroom either. It was very hot.The counters will coming apart. None of the closet doors would close and most didn’t even have hardware to keep them from flopping around. There is only a couple of the vertical slats left that go over the sliding glass door so you can’t get any privacy. We called to have housekeeping come clean again and they still left food all over.As much as they want to stay here I shouldn’t be staying in filth with a place that is falling apart. We have stayed at a couple places in snowshoe but this is hands down the worst!!
We had a great time! Mountain Lodge is in such a great location with a very short walk to the slopes and village, even with little ones. Our group was 2 families of 4 (kids ages 5, 5, 3 and 18 mos). We could all fit comfortably in this unit (having a large sectional sofa is ideal for us). The owner was very responsive and helpful with any questions I had. While the kitchen is small (as are all in Mountan Lodge), we had no issues cooking almost all meals during our stay.
