What a lovely house for our long weekend stay in Woodstock! It was cozy and comfortable, with plenty of room for all six of us. We loved listening to the river in the evenings, and even had a fire one night. The beds were comfortable and the house is well-furnished. We hated to leave, but hope to return for our next trip to Woodstock!
The house had such character! It was an old house and had such charm. I loved all the windows and the sound of the river was wonderful.

This property is wthin walking distance of Woodstock Village Green shops and amenities. We have come to Wassail weekend for 23 years and this was the best of many accomodations. And the host organization was very helpful, friendly and responsive. We hope to come back!
The home was well-appointed and very comfortable. Love the location! The property managers were extremely responsive, as well. Highly recommend this home.
This home exceeded our expectations! Perfect location for both peace and tranquility as well as access to the picture perfect downtown by foot. The inside of the home was a great blend of old and new, rich in character and history but amenities that fit current needs. Be prepared to have all your stress disappear as soon as you see the water moving downstream in the river. What a fantastic experience!

Thank you for the rating. We’re glad the home exceeded your expectations — that the peaceful riverside setting and walkable downtown worked so well, and that the mix of historic character and modern amenities fit your needs. We’d love to welcome you back.
We enjoyed our stay and would go back to this rental. We loved opening the windows or sitting at the outside table and listening to the river. The yard was very private and the gardens were pretty. Unfortunately the hammock wasn’t there, maybe due to the storm that occurred right before our arrival, and the grass around the two chairs by the river was overgrown. The location of the house was perfect. My husband was able to fish from the backyard and we enjoyed walking to town to shop, eat, and stop by the farmers market. We hiked at the nearby national park and at Quechee Gorge which were both a short drive away. The management company was very responsive to the two issues that we needed help with. The folks that came to the house were friendly and helpful.A few things that others might want to be aware of before renting are that the kitchen cabinets and the microwave are very high up. I’m short so I needed to use the provided stepstool to reach them. Also, there is plenty of counter space in the kitchen, but not much cabinet space available. The rooms on the second floor are lovely, but the stairs are very narrow which is typical for an antique house. Overall we had a great experience and would enjoy returning to this relaxing house on the river.

Thank you for your review. Glad you enjoyed the river views, private yard, and gardens and that the location worked well for fishing, walking to town, and nearby hikes. Sorry the hammock was missing and the grass by the river was overgrown after the storm — we appreciate you letting us know and will share this with our team. Thank you also for noting the tall kitchen cabinets/microwave and the narrow second-floor stairs. We appreciate the rating and would welcome you back.

The house was a perfect location for our family 'Leaf Peeping' trip. The house was spacious and had most things we needed. The property seems to be newer to the market as we couldn't find basic info like the wifi password or how to operate the t-stat, but management responded promptly. It would have been nice if they'd been a little flexible to meet a couple of requests. We totally recognize they followed the guidelines but it would have made the experience a bit more pleasurable if they had been able to accommodate. Having said that the communication with management was very good, prompt, and professional. We all agree that we'd love to stay there again and we highly recommend this property.
Large size historic home in a great location, with easy walk into town. Nice setting on the river. The management company was very responsive throughout our stay. They made the check-in easy and were very timely on any response. Our rating of three was due to the lack of cleanliness of the house. There was mold in the bathroom, cobwebs, and the windows probably haven’t been cleaned in years. Unfortunately, they are so dirty it is hard to see the river when the sun was shining on them. There was clutter in the closets and a fair amount of personal food items left behind. It didn’t seem like it was a professional owner that has rented very often. However, if they did a deep cleaning of the property, it would be five stars.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I’m glad the home’s size, river setting, location, and our responsiveness worked well for you. I’m very sorry the cleanliness did not meet expectations — the mold, cobwebs, dirty windows, and leftover personal items are unacceptable. We’ve shared your notes with our team
We appreciate your candid feedback and hope to have the chance to host you again with the improvements in place so the stay can be a five-star experience.
The host was excellent and communication was very easy! The location of the property was great and easy to walk to the Main Street. There is air conditioning although not central. Luckily it wasn’t too hot because the units didn’t cool very well. There were plenty of towels! The upstairs shower did not drain very well.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback! We're so glad to hear you enjoyed the location, found it convenient for walking to Main Street, and had a great experience with our communication. We're also happy the A/C and plenty of towels helped make your stay more comfortable. We appreciate you letting us know about the A/C not cooling as well as expected and the upstairs shower draining slowly. We're sorry these issues affected your experience. We also wish we had known about these concerns while you were still staying with us. Had you reached out during your stay, we would have been happy to send our local team over to inspect the A/C and shower and do everything we could to resolve the issues and make your stay as comfortable as possible. Thank you again for staying with us and for your kind words about our team. It was a pleasure hosting you, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for an even smoother stay in the future!
