About this space The lake home was built in the early 1930's to house the engineers constructing the entire TVA (Tennessee Valley Authority) system that created dams and hydro-electric power throughout the region. It also provided jobs that helped with employment during the Great Depression. A wonderful addition we made recently was a dock, which remains in the water from sometime in March until late October.
Please note this is an old, quaint home. It has its quirks. The space: This is an old, quaint, home. The lake home itself remains mainly as it was back then, complete with wormy-chestnut walls and ceilings. But now there are beds for FIVE people, not the 12 engineers that lived here back then - ha ha!
One thing that has just been upgraded is the water. Until recently we were on (very good) well water, but now we've hooked onto the County water system - which is of excellent quality. However, we continue to operate on a septic field, so we ask all our guests to be especially gentle with the plumbing - and not put anything down the drains that doesn't belong.
And we've also just added a few new amenities: a propane-gas grill on the porch, a small dog enclosure in the back yard (so we're happy to say that we're now welcoming dogs to our property - but, sorry, no cats) and a dock. Guest access: You'll have full access to the entire place during your stay, with driveway parking that can accommodate several cars. Other things to note- The TVA controls the height of the lake (to provide electric power year-round and recreational activities in the summer), but sometimes heavy rains cause it to rise somewhat. While it will never impact the lake home, there's a portion of the lower-lake road that sometimes goes under water, making the "loop" for walking or jogging more of a "turnaround."

Pictures tell the story well! My boys were sad there were no fishy nibbles, but enjoyed the time on the water. It was a nice amount of space for the four of us. The view was gorgeous, and Oksana was responsive with any questions/concerns.Being able to bring our dog was a big plus, and he enjoyed the weekend as well!
This is a delightful vintage cabin with quirky architectural detail reflective of its history. Truly Pet friendly with grassy areas as well as woods for sniffing. There was even a small pen off the back porch suitable for smaller dogs. A very short walk through the woods and across an infrequently traveled road leads to the water. Minuscule rocky beach, but the deck was sturdy with chairs. the dogs loved it. The host was easy to contact through the app and replied promptly. Would strongly recommend this place.
I can’t say enough about this warm, Cozy, lakefront cottage. It brought me to the lakefront memories from my childhood. Lots of good energy flowing from this place! We can’t wait to come back and make more memories!

Thank you so much! We really appreciate how well you cared for our cabin. It was a pleasure hosting you, and you’re welcome back anytime!
This is the second time I've stayed here. I love it.Its a rustic type of cottage but it's great. We sat in the rocking chairs on the porch like old school locals. We brought our boat over from Powell Valley Marina and had great weather. Easy walk to the dock.
We really enjoyed the cabin! Great location! Really glad to have a dock for our boat! It was easy to touch base with our host, Oksana. She was very helpful and prompt. Beautiful lake!! The cabin was just as described...older with lots of history yet quite comfortable! So glad we found a house we could bring our dog! She's a lab and many places dont allow an 80 lb. dog. Only thing i would say is the parking was pretty tight with our boat trailer. Thanks for a well kept cabin and all the amenities!Norris lake is amazing! We'll be back!Holly
Hi. I'm Oksana! I've been in the states for most of my life. My family immigrated here in search of the American Dream back in 1996. I have a big family and since everyone lives in different states, we love getting together to celebrate the big moments in life. I have been managing properties since the end of 2023 and it's been absolutely, by far, my favorite job that I've ever had. I love hearing from guests about how much they enjoyed our properties, whether it was time spent with family or staying for a fishing competition. It always makes me happy!
