Welcome to River’s Edge Cabin, your peaceful retreat nestled along a picturesque stretch of the South Fork of the Shenandoah River. During the warmer months, enjoy fishing, swimming, and paddling right in your backyard. When the air turns crisp, River’s Edge transforms into a cozy hideaway, perfect for enjoying the peacefulness of the river and the beauty of the changing seasons. (Please note: 4WD may be necessary in winter weather conditions.)

River’s Edge Cabin comfortably hosts up to 4 responsible adults or families of 6. The cabin features:

This was our third time staying at Rivers Edge and every time has been fantastic. The house is consistently clean and so well stocked with everything we could possibly need. We love relaxing on the covered deck and the convenience of the river right in the back yard. Our teens love all the indoor and outdoor games that are provided. Jeff and Lori do such a great job of being available and accommodating while also respecting your privacy. This is one of our places to visit when we want a laid back and relaxing vacation.

Our stay at your home was so Relaxing & Quiet which is just what we needed. The wrap around porch overlooking the Shenandoah River was Amazing, whether it was with coffee in the morning or drinks after dinner. Thanks Again

Phenomenal location right on the water! Lots to do right at the house or locally. Owners were very responsive . Highly recommend for a peaceful & fun getaway!

This rental was solid. No real complaints, listing was accurate. Hosts were communicative and check-in/out was easy. We had all the amenities we needed for a comfortable week-long stay where we did most of our own cooking. That said, if you are looking for a home base to explore the region and park like we were, understand that this location is very isolated. That's not a bad thing at all in itself, it just made it difficult to have much down time at the house while still seeing the sights. There is no coming and going -- once you're out for the day, you're out. Hikes in the park had to be combined with day trips to Luray and Front Royal, since you're staying off the highway right between the two park entrances. Driving an hour or more each day was a huge part of our trip and was very taxing on our kids' energy. The long gravel road to the house presents some logistical and safety challenges as well. Again, no criticisms of the property itself, but it might not be for everyone. I would strongly suggest mapping out detailed driving directions for each outing before booking.

Memorable Vacation

We spent thanksgiving at rivers edge and also hosted a family for dinner. It was so calm and relaxing. Everyone enjoyed the view and the ambiance of the house. It was so cozy and warm. Lori answered right away when I had a few questions! We Will definitely stay again!!

Great vacation house

The property is exactly as it is described. Very clean, well stocked kitchen with dishes, pans, seasonings, garbage bags etc. We have stayed in 5 places in the last 5 years and this has been the best and would recommend it to anyone.

Our mountain visit

Resting on the river

This property is well kept, the owners are very cooperative, and the house is stocked with almost anything you could possibly need during your stay. The location is perfect for resting and relaxing or enjoying the water. The gifts of wine, crackers, and cookies were such a nice touch.

Loved this place

This was the perfect place for our 2 night stay in Luray. Fire pit by the river was so relaxing. The house came well stocked and was in very good condition. The owners were very prompt responding to our questions. They had lots of brochures and information available for things to do nearby. Great location for hiking and kayaking on the river. We will definitely stay here again.

The house was excellent and in a great location. Everything was very clean and the owner supplied plenty of essentials. The house backs up to the river which the kids loved. Plenty of spots for hiking nearby as well as restaurants. My family and I didn't want to leave.

Beautiful home and property right on the river. Very peaceful.Went tubing and to Lurray Caverns while visiting. peaceful. Definitely consider staying again for a girls weekend.

Mountain River Paradise

Beautiful, peaceful property! Perfect private location, still close to shopping and attractions. The hosts thought of anything and everything you may need or want during your stay. We enjoyed going out on the river and sitting by the warm firepit on the cool evenings. There were so many thoughtful amenities with all the comforts of home! If you're looking for a peaceful, tranquil setting, this is it!

Relaxing stay

We had a lovely stay at Jeff and Lori's house. The house was well stocked and we appreciated the extra special touches. Jeff and Lori live next door if you need anything. Our days were spent hiking Shenandoah National Park, which was about 20 minutes away. Check in was easy. Good communication. Recommended!

Weekend getaway for relaxation and wine

This is a perfect little cabin on the river for a family or 2 couples. It’s very clean and comfortable, and is fully supplied with all the kitchen items you need to prepare meals. We had hoped to use the kayaks and canoe but were unable due to the rain. The only improvement I would make is to sharpen the kitchen knives. I rate this property as a 10 if you are looking for a quiet rustic setting!

We love the quiet and beauty of the Shenandoah Valley. We were fortunate enough to find this property right on the river where we could build our own cabin. Nothing beats having the Shenandoah River right out your front door.

What makes this property unique

We can swim, fish, and canoe right from the house. Evening campfires overlooking the river are the perfect way to spend an evening after a day in the water. There is plenty to do without leaving the house.
