About this property
Single storey villa in Kamares Village, Tala, Paphos with private pool
The villa is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac within the Kamares development, still regarded as one of the premier residential areas in the area, as all the villas are individual and there are not the straight rows of identical homes you can find elsewhere. The accommodation comprises three double bedrooms (two doubles, one twin) with two bathrooms, one en-suite. The living room and dining area are open plan with an archway to the kitchen. Outside there is a terrace accessible from the living room and all bedrooms, with a private pool (8x4m), an outdoor dining area and BBQ with views to the coast. Guests may also use the Kamares Club, about 15 minutes walk, which has a large pool, tennis courts, bar, restaurant and Wi-Fi, with a book and video library on Wednesdays (check with reception).
NB: A new villa is being built next door but the bulk of the structural work has been finished. The new owners are expected to arrive in the spring of 2027. The further villa is only to be partially built, to be finished off when there is a buyer. While I cannot guarantee no disturbance, the level of work over the hot summer months tends to be much reduced and poses little disruption to the normally peaceful enjoyment of the villa.
Contact Languages: Although I have indicated I can deal with French, German and Italian, I must ask you to use email only for these as I am not fluent enough for telephone enquiries. Any email replies will be in English with my attempt at translation into your language.
Golf Courses: There are four courses within 40 minutes drive. Minthis Hills, Tsada is the closest. Aphrodite Hills, on the way to Pissouri, is on the European circuit. It is next to Secret Valley but is independent. The Elea, near Yeroskipou is .designed by Sir Nick Faldo.

About the host
Hosted by Ian Harvey
I worked for 25 years with Standard Chartered Bank in various parts of Asia, Africa and the Gulf as well as with the National Bank of Ras Al-Khaimah. As a child I lived mostly abroad including Italy, Japan, USA and Yugoslavia and went to boarding school in Caterham, Surrey followed by the University of Reading where I read French with German. My main home is in Torquay, Devon. I play golf regularly both at Torquay and Minthis Hills not far from the villa.
Why they chose this property
I bought the property off plan in 1983 while I was working in Bahrain, as I liked Cyprus and thought it would always be on the way back from wherever I was posted. That was before they sent me to Africa! Originally it was a 2-bedrrom villa but over time it has been extended to add a third bedroom with bathroom and an outside BBQ area by the pool. Most recently, the front terrace has had a fully tiled verandah added with a balustrade to add more privacy. When I bought the villa Kamares was only just getting started and Tala was undeveloped with few places to eat but both have grown greatly since then. I spend 5-6 weeks at a time here in the spring and autumn and am still finding new places to go while many old favourites remain. If I want a bit of exercise, there are plenty of circuits taking around 40 minutes just in Kamares, to the monastery and Tala village.
What makes this property unique
Relaxing on the terrace by the pool, swimming, reading a book, looking down to the coast; compare that to a noisy shared pool at a hotel or apartment complex. Forget the world, until dinner time.
