This was a great location, beautiful place, and well appointed. The extras the hosts provided was amazing and so thoughtful. We loved the entire experience and would highly recommend.
The House on the Hill was perfect, it was modern, spacious and very clean! Loved the quietness of the place, very relaxing. The host was great at keeping in touch with us throughout our stay. It was by far one of the best places we have stayed at. We plan to return!!!
The hosts have thought of everything to make the stay very comfortable. Very clean and tastefully furnished. It was such a nice place to come back to each day after sightseeing.A great location to reach shopping, restaurants, and attractions yet feel like we were hidden away in the woods. We will recommend this to our friends.
The pictures represented the property really well. The house was well stocked with the essentials and with extras like snacks, teas, shampoo, soap, lotion, etc. Boomer and Angie was hands down the best hosts we have ever had. They saw us look under the hood of our vehicle and asked if we needed help. They took our trash away when it was full. I just can't say enough nice things about the place or the people.
We loved that this property was tucked up (like high up) on a hill because it was so quiet and peaceful and the sunset view was incredible. The hosts seemed committed to a good experience and I can really appreciate that. The place had everything we needed and I liked that it was over their garage when kid feet got loud. We really enjoyed our time in Hill City and will definitely stay here again when back in the Black Hills. One thing I think could be considered is a new queen mattress - it was just okay. We had a really great stay!
We selected House on the Hill based on it’s centralized location to ALL the places we wanted to visit ie: Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Badlands Nat’l, Custer State Pk, even Devil’s Tower in WY. …and boy did we make the BEST decision. Boomer and Angie take such pride in their property and are the perfect hosts. So many extras like a basket of trail snacks, or a surprise treat waiting on our steps after returning from a long day. So very sweet! This place was beautiful, comfy, immaculate & well equipped with EVERYTHING you need. While there is no traditional stove, you do have a microwave, an outdoor grill, a toaster, a crock pot, an Insta Pot, an electric griddle. So if you are inclined to cook, no problem. Hill City has a super market and also had good options for eating out or grabbing a quick bite. After long days of going, it was a joy to come back to House on the Hill, sit in the Adirondack chairs on top of that hill, watch whatever wildlife came by (deer, wild turkeys), sometimes petting their sweet old dog Toby, and watching the sun set.
