4 bed, 3 bath detached villa on large plot in the most central and sought after area of delightful central Playa Blanca. Only 5 minutes walk from the village and beach, shops and restaurants and direct access to parque Atlantico. This beautiful, traditional, spacious villa is furnished to the highest standard and offers all the comforts of home. The villa has a large drive with parking and private garden all around. Stereo and alexa with outdoor speakers, amazon music and bluetooth. Fabulous terrace with bar. Private heated pool with a spacious terrace and sunbeds. In addition, residents and guests of Los Calamares have the advantage of the free use of the community tennis court. Pool table and dart board in the garden
Large smart TV with TV streaming for UK and other main channels and NetFlix .
Aircon and pool heating are included in the price.
You will also find many other littlel extras upon your arrival as this villa is exceptionally equipped.
The terrace is so delightful that you may well find that you do not want to leave and many guests find themselves settling into the 'manana, manana' way of life and hence, have to come again.


There is a vast choice of restaurants including some excellent fish ones and a good selection of shops selling everything from flip-flops to diamond jewellery.

Out and About: Although a car is not necessary for this villa, we generally recommend one. Benefits include avoiding taxi queues at the airport and not having to carry the shopping! A small car may be hired for as little as €25 per day and when you realise a taxi from the airport costs about €50 it all makes sense! There is also of course the added benefit of being able to use a car for day trips to some of Lanzarote’s most beautiful spots such as Fire Mountain, Jameos del Agua or El Golfo.

What a great place to stay for a vacation

The villa was excellent. Great spaces outside for children and adults. Great entertaining options including the swimming pool, pool table, darts, climbing frame, slide. Awesome. Great standard of furnishing and plenty of room in all the bedrooms. Brilliant.

Prefect villa for a family

We have been visiting Lanzarote for 5 years now and this is the best villa we have stayed in. There was everything we needed to enjoy our stay including presents under the tree for us and the children. The pool is warm, the villa spacious and has lots of outdoor space. Easy walk to the shops and restaurants by the port. Would love to stay again.

Squid House - fantastic

great position...10 mins from promenade, 3 mins from bus station and cab rank.the house itself is great, plenty of space for 3 couples, really well equipped kitchen and fridge. Pool is very welcome !we would definately re-book

Great stay at the squid house

The squid house is in an excellent location for walking to restaurants, the beach & harbour. The house is comfortable and well equipped and We enjoyed our stay. The pool was warm and the children loved it.

Fantastic 2 week stay at the squid house, fully stocked with all we needed, very central, only 5 min walk to nearest supermarket. Excellent communication with Therese when we had a question. High recommend this property if you are looking for a lovely property and stress free holiday.

Amazing stay

The Squid House was perfect for our party, ages ranging from 75 to 13.The location was ideal, just a 5 minute walk to the supermarket and shops and all the bars and restaurants on the sea front.The layout of the property was perfect for our needs, all on one level and the bedrooms spaced apart with plenty of bathrooms. The villa is well equipped with everything you could possibly need for your stay, and the air con in the bedrooms was a god send in July! Plenty of outdoor space and the pool table and dartboard kept the teens well entertained, as did the warm pool.Therese was a wonderful host who helped us on several occasions, and the communication leading up to our stay was 5-star.This was our 4th trip to Lanzarote and the largest villa we've stayed in, and it was great to show the rest of our family why we love returning to the island.

Great host great location

Therese had the most complete welcome amenities we have ever seen. The location of the home is very close to the center of Playa Blanca. We enjoyed the heated pool. Although I suggest having a car this home is near the central bus station. For us this home worked very well.

A fabulous villa with everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing break. Lots of room for our family group and facilities are excellent. Our New Year stay at Squid House

Everything was exactly as promised, more so in the sense that the villa is so well equipped - plenty of pots and pans and well stocked cupboards in the Kitchen, TV with UK channels, Netflix etc, and lots of outdoor space to sit and enjoy lunch in the sunshine. All in all, a perfect mid winter break.

Lovely Holiday

We stayed at Squid House as a party of 4 adults and 2 young children. The house is wonderful, very well equipped and in a great location. Therese was excellent as a host and provided us with lots of very useful information prior to our arrival. We had a couple of issues when we got there which Therese resolved as soon as she was able. I would definitely stay again.

Everything we hoped for and more

We had a fabulous stay at the squid house with our daughters, partners and grandchildren The Squid House was perfect for us all and everything you would need for a family holiday is included. The house is beautiful, spacious and in the perfect location just a 10 minute walk to the seafront. The swimming pool was lovely and with heating included was perfect any time of the day We as a family wouldn’t hesitate to book again in the future

Fantastic Villa

Theresa was a brilliant host of this property. She gave us loads of great information. Great use of the tennis court. The back gate was a game changer for us as it meant we didnt have to walk all the way around the street. Overall a brilliant stay and a great host. Thank you Theresa.

Excellent villa for adults and kids alike!

8 of us (2 families) had a wonderful stay at Squid House over the half term holidays. The villa was perfect in size, wonderful indoor and outdoor space, and the pool and aminities were great! The added touches (drinks on arrival, coffee pods, pool toys, beach towels) were a really well appreciated, and made for a stress free arrival! Location was also incredible, and we had many outings to the local beaches and restaurants. The kids loved the nearby football pitch and courts, while car and bike hire was also in walking distance. I would definitely recomend - 5 stars from us!

Wonderful stay, generous host! House just keeps on giving!

It was the perfect Villa for our group family holiday. The quality of the house is excellent such as the new kitchen refurb and en-suite bathrooms. We loved that there were cold refreshments and household amenities all available, a drinks cabinet and a little outdoor bar that was just added before we arrived. Heated pool was great for the little one and it was cleaned twice during our stay. Beach toys and towels also a big plus! It can get a bit warm in the communal spaces in the house but we didn’t mind relaxing outside in the seating area with the blankets provided. Great location!

Our 1st time staying at The Squid House july 2023 and what a great villa, indoor layout spacious with a good amenities and flow out to the outdoor terrace, garden, pool area. Location fantastic with the town, promenade, beach, shopping, supermarkets, restaurants, virtually on your doorstep. Bus station within 100yrds servicing all your trips further afield, as an example 5 adults 2 children 17euro return puerto del carman. 30 min journey. Taxi from rubicon marina to villa 4 euros. Lots of options all round. We will be back..

Perfect Holiday Home

Squid House is beautiful and perfect for a relaxing holiday. We were a 3 generation family and everyone was comfortable and happy. Beautifully furnished and very well equipped for 8. Modern kitchen, utility room with washing machine (perfect when you have young children). 4 very comfortable bedrooms and 3 modern bathrooms. The inside Lounge and dining room are very spacious with enough seating for everyone.The outside space is wonderful, seating and dinning under cover and plenty of sunloungers for everyone.The secluded pool is heated and cleaned regularly and in my granddaughters words ‘amazing’. The location is perfect, 5 min walk to supermarket, gift shops, restaurant and a beautiful sandy beach.7 mins up the road in a car is the Aqualavawater park, great fun for a day out.Things that make the squid house stand out are the little touches: shampoo and little vanity packs in the bathrooms, a well stocked honesty bar, toys and games and so many more personal touches that make it a home.Therese was easy to communicate with and provided lots of information.We highly recommend The Squid House and hope to return for another holiday.

Excellent in all ways

The Squid house is a spacious immaculate villa which myself and 6 friends thoroughly enjoyed. Therese the owner is a delight to deal with and genuinely wants you to have a great holiday. There were so many little touches that made a difference that often aren’t always present in self catering villas. There was everything you could ask for in terms of kitchen crockery, glasses etc and the fridge with filtered water and ice machine was a real bonus; you can tell it’s a house that is lived in and loved. The outside space is large and very well maintained with plenty seating in the sun and shade, the heated pool was a bonus too. It’s an easy walk to the many restaurants in the port area, a bit further but doable to the Marina. For those not so mobile taxis are plentiful and cheap. We hope to return next year thanks so much Therese

Fantastic Home

We had a lovely family stay here, 3 generations absolutely loved the house and had a great time. It is very well laid out, with both double rooms in particular enjoying a bit of privacy. The two twin rooms are close together and share a bathroom which was perfect. It was clean and tidy to the level you expect of a well loved home. It definitely feels like it has a personality rather than just being a pristine white box! The kitchen is very modern and well-equipped with everything you need and more (ice maker on the fridge!). The covered terrace was the absolute selling point for us and meant we could still enjoy being outside when it rained. The bluetooth speakers were brilliant and the sound was quite contained. There is plenty of room for 8 people in every part of the property and we never felt cramped. The pool is fab and very warm, with sun beds and a gate to keep secure from smaller kids. It’s a really short and level walk to a large supermarket and not much further to the seafront which has numerous restaurants and bars to enjoy, all of them very accommodating to families. The village has lovely shops and if you fancy a further walk round the coast path you get to the absolutely gorgeous marina area which has a fab market on Wednesdays and Saturdays and plenty of restaurants. The booking process was so easy and Therese was very kind and helpful. We all said we would definitely stay again!

Fantastic new year stay

We had a fantastic time at the Squid Housef over new year. On arrival the house was dressed for the festive period. It was a nice touch - if not a bit surreal - seeing a Santa riding a dolphin tree bobble whilst it was 24 degrees outside! The welcome basket on arrival was one of the best we’ve ever had - a great selection of wine and fizz. The villa itself was even better than the pictures. It had everything we needed. The master bedroom is huge and it has its own separate door out into the garden. The pool area was great and our kids absolutely loved it. The outside shower was a nice touch as we could rinse them off after playing in the pool. There was a great selection of pool and garden toys. The outdoor seating area was our favourite part of the villa. During the day it was a great place to relax and in the evening we enjoyed having drinks - watching the fireworks go off over Playa Blanca was one of the highlights of our trip. The kitchen was really well stocked and the fridge and freezer had tons of space. We didn’t cook much however everything needed was there if we’d wanted to. The location was brilliant also. Exiting the garden gate meant it was around a 5 minute walk to the hiperdino supermarket area (turning left) or the port end of the front (turning right). We hired a car but in reality only used it to transport large bottles of water - it wasn’t needed. Therese was a fantastic host and we’d throughly recommend a stay at the Squid House!

I fell in love with Lanzarote and in particular Playa Blanca back in 1980 and was an annual visitor until I bought the Squid House in 1998. At the time there were very few houses in Playa Blanca and I had a choice of about 7 !. Over the years the house has evolved and been practically rebuilt . Originally a small two bedroom cottage it is now a spacious 4 bedroom , 3 bathroom house with pool. As I write 1/11/2021 I am posting new photos of the newly refurbished en-suite to the garden double. Hopefully you will love it. I still adore Playa Blanca and travel there at every opportunity which means at least 5 times a year. I hope you will love Playa Blanca and the Squid House as much as I do. x
