Won't you be our neighbor—at least for a little while?
Welcome to our sunny, thoughtfully designed home in the heart of Arlington, Virginia. Nestled on a quiet, tree-lined street just minutes from Washington, DC, it's an inviting place to settle in for a family vacation, a work assignment, or an extended stay. With private parking, walkable restaurants and parks, beautiful gardens, and easy access to transit, we hope you'll feel less like a visitor and more like a neighbor.
This property comfortably sleeps four, with space for a fifth guest on the twin sleeper sofa or a twin air mattress. Well-behaved pets are warmly welcome! We do charge an additional cleaning fee so that future guests with allergies can enjoy the home comfortably as well.
We wanted this place to feel like a home, not just a rental, so we've chosen family heirlooms, vintage pieces, and treasures collected by us, our friends, and our family during travels around the world. We've also tried to renovate and furnish the home as thoughtfully and sustainably as possible—including rooftop solar panels that provide much of the electricity you'll use during your stay.
The House
The first floor is designed for relaxing and gathering. The comfortable living room includes a Roku TV, a dedicated workspace, a favorite vintage reading chair, and a sofa that converts to a twin bed for an additional guest. The dining room is perfect for lingering meals, and the fully equipped kitchen includes everything you need to prepare them, including new appliances, a convection range, drip coffee maker, toaster, cookware, dishes, and pantry basics.
Upstairs you'll find two comfortable bedrooms and a full bathroom. The primary bedroom features a queen bed, antique furnishings, and enough space for a crib (not provided) or the included twin air mattress. The second bedroom offers an XL twin daybed with a twin trundle, along with a floating desk, dresser, and closet—ideal for children, friends traveling together, or anyone who appreciates a quiet place to work. Both bedrooms include thoughtfully selected, high-quality mattresses designed for comfort and great sleep.
An unfinished basement provides a washer, dryer, and extra storage. Outside, you'll also have access to a lockable bike shed and a private driveway that accommodates two vehicles parked back-to-back.
The Gardens
The gardens are one of our favorite parts of the property. The front yard features a stunning native plant garden and clover lawn while the fenced side and backyard have been designed to welcome both pets and pollinators. There's also a raised bed herb garden for cooking inspiration or garnishing a drink. Enjoy your morning coffee surrounded by butterflies and birds, or end the day with dinner at the picnic table tucked beneath flowering trees and solar-powered string lights. We hope you'll spend as much time outside as we do.
The Neighborhood
We love our neighborhood, and we think you will too. It's quiet, leafy, diverse, affirming, and wonderfully walkable. Columbia Pike—with its restaurants, cafés, shops, library, parks, playgrounds, and local businesses—is just around the corner.
The house is conveniently located near many popular destinations, including:
National Foreign Affairs Training Center – 1.6 miles
Fort Myer – 1.4 miles
The Pentagon – 2.6 miles

Your Hosts
We live very close by and are always happy to help if you have questions, need recommendations, or run into any issues during your stay. We look forward to welcoming you!
