About the host

We are locals and love lake life! We have lived here for over 15 years, in the foothills of the beautiful Smoky Mountains, nestled between two enormous lakes, Douglas and Cherokee. We love the four seasons this area offers. We are close enough to visit the Pigeon Forge attractions, enjoy Gatlinburg and the National Park with endless hiking trails and breathtaking plateau views, or just relax and watch the lightning bugs from the porch while sipping our favorite coffee.

Why they chose this property

This is a quiet, bedroom community just five minutes from the boat ramp. Neighbors are wonderful, ample parking and peaceful sleep - literally a mile away from the Interstate. Flying into McGhee-Tyson makes this an easy stop no matter what time your flight arrives or takes off... just a 35 minute drive from the airport and you've arrived at the vacation home you'll want to return to over and over again! Groceries can be delivered, or you can drive down the street for shopping and dining. Be sure to visit Downtown Dandridge for quaint boutique stores and visit the historic Civil War cemetery.

What makes this property unique

We named this "The Selah Retreat" after missionary friends who taught us how to be the best hosts ever. Come, rest, read a book from the book shelf or grab one of the games and get the entire family to sit at the table and escape the digital world for some incredible memories. There are two televisions, and WiFi, of course, for those who want to stay connected, but for those who want to disconnect, rest and relax, the beds are super comfy, and the living area is designed for relaxation. The home is close to every attraction you could want, but when you come back, it's peaceful and serene - just what every vacation spot should be!
