This was a great condo for the price. The location to the beach for the price couldn’t be beat. It had all the essentials needed to cook and do some cleaning. Check in and check out were simple. The only thing was there were several items leftover from previous guests that had my questioning how thoroughly things were being cleaned. Also this is not an ocean view as other reviews have stated. It’s more canal view. But we didn’t book for that so overall we were happy with this.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re glad the location, value, and simple check‑in/out worked well and that the condo had the essentials you needed. We apologize for finding items left by previous guests — that isn’t our standard. We’ll address this with our housekeeping team to ensure a more thorough clean going forward. Regarding the view, the unit faces the canal rather than the ocean; we’ll review the listing and photos to make sure expectations are clear. We appreciate your comments and are pleased you were overall happy with your stay.

Clean, perfect for short trip. Just need to advise people to run hot water for a while to weaken sulfer smell common to area apparently. Overall good experience.

Thank you so much for the feedback! We're glad you had a good stay. That's helpful advice about the hot water—the mineral content in our area's water can create that sulphur smell, and running the taps does help. We appreciate you sharing that tip for future guests. We hope to welcome you back on your next visit!

Good vacation

Good vacation with the kids. Property was in a great location. We had the pool to ourselves for most of the stay which was kinda cool. Door didn’t lock on arrival but maintenance came out and fixed within minutes of my calling them. Some of the dishes had been put up dirty but it would be difficult for staff to inspect all dishes if a prev guest did this. Overall great stay and would book again in the future.

Nice and clean

The condo was really nice and clean. We loved the location as it was close to everything and the beach wasn’t overly crowded. The walk to the beach wasn’t far at all. If we could make any suggestion, it would be to add some digital clocks in the bedroom just so it’s easy to see what time it is. Also, be aware that this unit is at the very top corner of the building, so there are at least 4 levels with many stairs. Thanks and we’d definitely

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First night was not good . We had no water to show when we arrived. We were suppose to meet another party in Wilmington early the next morning but had to cancel waiting to shower. The room was amazing, great area,. After the first initial day, our stay was great.

Thank you for your review Trina. We do apologize that you checked into the unit and it did not have any water. We tried to accommodate your needs by opening up another unit for you to shower in until this issue was fixed. The owner felt horrible that this was your first night experience and refunded you back that day for the inconvenience. This is a very nice unit and we hope that you will consider using Bryant Real Estate for your future vacation stays.

Blue Jay-Unit 30

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was more than happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The condo was very clean and beds/bathrooms were great. The furniture was comfortable. No street/traffic noise. Pool was terrific. Overall good place to stay. Seniors and parents with toddlers or small children would have some issues with the 48 steps to get to the top floor especially if they are carrying kids plus beach or pool toys/chairs. In addition, noises from adjoining units is an issue.

Filthy with old cookies behind furniture

I am not sure what ocean views we are talking about, but i think if you strrtch your neck you might see far away sliver of ocean between homes and palm trees. That isnt a make or break big deal for me but 3 dead roaches and one live one are..... i cant attach photos here but i have evidence of old cookies and water bottles near the furiture where we had to kill the roaches. We are staying in a different unit this week in the same vuilding not owned by bryant nor cleaned by bryant and it is wonderful. Best of luck in your future rentals.

beach condo

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very unhappy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: the condo itself was nice.. the complex was old, no elevator the stairs were a pain to walk to the third floor.. we didn't care for the town itself, everything seemed to be stacked on top of each other. we thought we were getting a ocean view and we did if we looked between 2-3 set's of building leaning over the rail.. the price was good, wouldn't have wanted to pay anymore..

Great times at Carolina Beach

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Had a great vacation in Carolina Beach, condo was clean, roomy and everything was well taken care of. The only thing was I wish the property would allow golf cart rentals on premises. That might keep us from coming back to this property. But we had a wonderful time.

John - Wonderful to hear you enjoyed you vacation at The Turquoise Jay! This condo complex is ran by a private HOA and do not allow golf carts to be parked on the property, there is nothing we can do about this. No worries! The beach is only a 3 minute walk! Thank you for allowing The Turquoise Jay to host your vacation! Looking forward to your next visit!

It was clean, which was a big deal for me and my family, had everything we needed for our stay, and it was quiet durning the night. The only recommendation, which is small, are some curtains that help block the light in the bedrooms. That would not keep me from staying here again, though. Great condo!

Great Place

We had a very nice stay at the Blue Jay. We would return! The place was very clean and perfect size for our family of 3. It is very close to the beach. While it was nice being on the top floor, that was also a downside. Having a 2 yo and going up and down the stairs wasn’t ideal. We would have appreciated streaming services, or a DVD player to watch movies. Other than that, we had a great time and the place was as described.

NICE PLACE BUT NO EXTRAS

The place was acceptable but it was missing a lot of items. There were only two small lamps in the master bedroom. All other lighting was provided by overhead lights. Only an old lumpy couch and kitchen chairs to sit in. We used the outdoor chairs inside. A few rugs would have been nice.

Hi Jeffery, thank you very much for your review. I have endeavored to offer a clean, comfortable and reasonably priced place for my guests, but even so I will not be able to please everyone, as was the case with you. The "old couch" that you mention was purchased brand new a year ago and the Condo was completely renovated in December / 2019. I wish that you find on your next vacation, a place that meets all your requirements and desires. Thank you and have an excellent end of summer.

Nice house, parking not so nice.

Nice place house, very short walk to the beach. Which is a very nice beach as well. Only thing that could be better is the parking. Very small parking area and a couple days we had to use one of the outside guest parking because someone didn’t park correctly and we couldn’t get into our assign parking spot.
Response from VrboOwner on 20 Aug, 2020
Thank you very much Timothy for the 5 star review! Unfortunately some people in the building next door do not park their cars properly and cause problems for my renters, but luckily there are always extra parking spaces that can be used in these situations. This problem will soon be solved, as my unit will receive a larger parking space and we will never have problems like this again. Thanks again for your excellent review and see you on your next vacation at The Blue Jay.
