Cozy, Romantic Cottage just 3 minutes from the village of Mendocino!

The Larkin Cottage is nestled amongst redwood trees just 3 minutes from the village of Mendocino. It is on the same property as the live-in owner's main residence. The cottage includes all the amenities of home. The kitchen is furnished with ample dishes and pots and pans should you decide not to enjoy the many wonderful restaurants in the area. A gas BBQ is located on the deck. The living room is equipped with a flat screen TV, DISH high definition service, WiFi, blue tooth dock for music on your phone or tablet, DVD player, and a DVD library of movies filmed in the area. The bedroom features a queen size Sleep Number bed outfitted in luxurious linens including a down comforter and plenty of fluffy pillows. Waiting for you outside are porch rockers, a private hot tub, and lush gardens.

The Larkin Cottage property is abundant with beautiful flowers. Care has been taken to make sure that something is blooming every month of the year. The gazebo is a perfect spot for a small wedding.

PLEASE NOTE: Cal Trans has removed the trees on the west side of the property due to bridge construction. This construction can create noise during the day. The estimated completion date is Fall of 2025.

The cottage is an absolute fairytale dream with a clear attention to detail that the host generously provides to ensure a comfortable stay. Perfect Weekend Retreat

Lovely cottage and setting with lots of flowers. Loved the gas fireplace that really warmed us up. So did the hot tub! Enjoyed the fluffy bathrobes. Ocean view in the back of the house. Nice to have parking next to the house. Easy drive into Mendocino or Ft Bragg.

Sweet cottage

This is a great getaway for two, yet so close to town and the ocean. With the kitchen, hot tub and deck, it’s hard to beat this place. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return.

I purchased The Larkin Cottage in 2006. I really was not looking to buy a property in Mendocino but I had recently retired and came to the area to visit a friend. I saw this lovely property and knew it would be a wonderful place to share with my family and friends. The Larkin Cottage was an extra bonus!

Why they chose this property

The Larkin Cottage property has so much character. The main house on the property was built in the late 1800's and originally was located closer to the highway. It has been well loved and cared for over the years. The Larkin Cottage was the original chicken coop, converted to housing in the 1940's for the original owner's son to live in after he married. In the 1970's the guest house was added and much later the gazebo and play house. All of the buildings have been remodeled in the last 5 years.

What makes this property unique

The Larkin Cottage is so private and yet so close to town. It really is a special place.
