Thanks for leaving a review of your recent stay. It's great to hear that you enjoyed the condo. We find that access to the beach via Witch's Rock Surf Camp takes us approx. 5 mins with our baby jogger stroller from the condo. Great spot to sit with lounge chairs and lifeguards present.

Thank you for the review, it is unfortunate that you did not enjoy your experience. We have three separate air conditioning units in our condo, one unit in our master bedroom stopped working at the time of the guest’s arrival. We stayed at our unit shortly before this tenants arrival, with no bookings in between our stay and this tenants stay, and we had the air conditioner in the bedroom repaired during our stay. Unfortunately, the repair did not last, and once this guest notified us, we immediately had taken efforts to replace the a/c unit in the bedroom. Both bedrooms in the condo have brand new air conditioners installed and work very well. We have spoken to our property manager, who has a physical location and has a number of employee’s who are available to deal with any concerns, who was unaware of this guests calls which were not returned. We apologize if any calls were not returned as we expect and strive for good communication with all of our guests to ensure their needs are reasonably met. At any time we can be contacted by phone or email. I personally spoke with these guests a number of times during their stay and believe their concerns were dealt with promptly and reasonably. Unfortunately, it did take longer then we liked to replace the air conditioner as we were contacted on a Saturday night, and the replacement a/c could not be installed until Monday morning. Our Condo building is undergoing seasonal repairs that don’t typically happen until the start of the dry season. The rainy season has just ended, and there was some wear and tear caused by the Costa Rica rain that was unusually late this year. Thank you again for your feedback, we have taken notes about your concerns as we strive to make it a comfortable stay for all of our guests!

Thank you for expressing your concerns. I am sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your experience. We value all of our guests and hope that everyone enjoys their stay. I would like to address some of your comments. I am sorry that you experienced a mildew smell upon your arrival. Costa Rica has a tropical climate, and it is not uncommon that when a condo has been unoccupied there may be a slight mildew smell. Fortunately, once the a/c is on this quickly goes away. In the past we have not kept our a/c on before our guests arrive as energy costs are quite high. Our unit is cleaned regularly, including before and after each of our guests stay. Our furniture is not broken and has not been purchased from a lawn sale, and we question why you have felt this was the case. Our listing contains pictures of the furniture and they are all still in the same shape as in the photos. However, we do have a new TV in the living room that is not in the pictures. As far as we are aware (we stayed in Nov) our linens are not tattered, stained, or full of holes. We have a large amount of linens in our linen closest. We are saddened to hear that you had to wash any pots and pans. Cleanliness is very important to us and we wish to ensure that our guests are met with the same standards. Were sorry you seen a cockroach, our unit is located on the ground floor and while we have seals under our entrance door, unfortunately in Costa Rica bugs can be an issue at any location. When these guests complained on arrival of the mildew smell our property manager promptly sent over cleaners, unfortunately the guests refused to let them in. The guests immediately asked to be moved to another unit. Unfortunately this was not possible as we don’t have another unit. When we attempted to follow up with the guests we received no response. Due to the nature of this review I feel its important to state that the first day the guests arrived we received 12 complaints about various issues, most of which are not named in the review. For ex. the light switch and fan were not working (which was user error), and that a storage ottoman hinge had loose screws, which we tightened. Unfortunately, we were unable to please this guest and after receiving the initial complaints we braced for this review. We don’t wish to question the guest or their experience, however, as you can see from our other reviews, this review is an unfortunate anomaly.
