The location can’t be beat. Everything, beach, restaurants, grocery, souvenir shops are within easy walking distance. We were grateful for the beach chairs and boogie boards provided. The condo had a nice kitchen fully stocked. The air conditioning worked great. The master bed has a hard mattress and big puffy pillows but we both slept quite well.

Sunrise Condos Tamarindo

This was awesome! The town has grown a lot since I was last there 13 years ago but the Sunrise is still fantastic. In the middle of town, but you feel miles away while you are inside the complex. Great time in the morning watching the Long Tail Grackles gathering nesting materials while sipping coffee on the patio. Great evenings watching afternoon thunderstorms roll through. A good grocery very close by. Perfect trip.

Great Spot in Tamarindo

Condo was newly remodeled, everything was new - furniture, beds, etc. Location is superb, walking a short distance to Tamarindo made it so convenient. The host, Chad Fisher, was beyond accommodating and took care of everything for us. Condo is pet friendly, pool is beautiful, and everything was clean and operational. Would definitely stay again!

This condo was very comfortable for our family of 4. Location is right across from the beach and close to many restaurants within walking distance. The only downside of being right in the middle of things is noise late until 2am on a couple of the nights. Bathrooms and kitchen could use some updates, but otherwise we very much enjoyed our stay.

Enjoyed our stay and the condo met most of our needs. Some kitchen basics lacking (no casserole dishes or mixing bowls), dryer wasn't working, some wear and tear (rusting, stains, closet doors difficult to slide), and elevator malfunctions, but it didn't disturb our Pura Vida experience.

Regarding kitchen essentials, we believe it's fairly well-equipped with utensils; however, we'll consider purchasing additional items like casserole dishes, and mixing bowls as per your suggestion. Regarding the dryer, we plan to invest in a new stackable washer and dryer unit. Often, overloading the units with too many clothes affects their efficiency. We've found that using fewer clothes at a time in the dryer ensures efficient drying. Sunrise 26 is a superb condo with an ocean view in a five-star location. One advantage of its rear location in the complex is that you only need to climb one flight of stairs in case of elevator issues. We apologize for any inconvenience, especially for guests with disabilities. We'll promptly inform the HOA and managers if the elevator isn't working for disabled clients in the future. If this issue occurred during your stay, we apologize and appreciate you bringing it to our attention. Sunrise 26 is among the best in Tamarindo, and we're constantly improving its amenities. We're soon remodeling the kitchen, bathrooms, etc. We've recently installed a new TV in the living room, aiming to make this one of the best condos in town. Beautiful property with nice views of pool and easy access to the beach. Our condo had good AC and nice comfortable beds and bathrooms.. The kitchen was a little worn but the appliances worked except for the ice maker.The TVs were problematic. Controls didn’t work right even the the owner sent a tech to fix them.

First this condo is in a perfect location to walk to the beach & restaurants throughout Tamarindo. The pool was nice in the afternoon after spending the morning at the beach. The condo had all the amenities that we needed for our 2 week stay. Some upgrades and minor maintenance are needed. Example all the doors, or anything that needs to slide, are stuck. The toilets need new flappers in order to flush properly. We will definitely come back for another visit. The addition of the humidifier was a plus. We had to empty the reservoir at least 3x a day. Please let future tenants know about this. Ron, our contact, was always available and responded to our text messages quickly. He also helped us with 3 awesome tours while there on our visit.

Great visit!

We had a wonderful time visiting to Tamarindo. The hosts were responsive, engaged and very kind. One of them even spent some extra time to put together a gift basket for my wife and kids at my request.There were just a few slight maintenance issues that we had to work through, and although they were not major, it required a little bit of attention during the visit. We wouldn’t hesitate to go back! One issue was condensation from the refrigerator Leaking on the floor a little bit each day that we had to clean up and could not be repaired during the entire visit for whatever acceptable reason. The other was the faucet was not functional in the master bedroom shower and so we had to spend a little bit of time to understand how to turn the water on and off. Not a big deal. If I could give 4.5 instead of either four or five stars I would. One other small matter was on the balcony. There were building materials for some project or another that were not in the functional way For us during our visit, but we are very visible impacting the visual image on the balcony.

Disgusting, very unclean

Upon arrival we were completely disgusted at the state of the unit. I am okay with dated finishings etc. but unclean facilities is totally unacceptable. This is ongoing unclean grime, not mess left from prior guests. Walls covered in grime, shower curtain had mold, every single surface was unclean. Dead bugs everywhere. Shower in primary room had little to no water pressure. Light bulbs were burnt out. The property manager was polite and attentive, but that doesn’t change the fact the property was in poor condition. We cleaned ourselves and made the most of our holiday time. We received a minimal refund of a cleaning fee, doesn’t come close to making up for the disappointment we experienced. Friends of ours stayed in another unit within the same building and it was night and day difference. Their unit was clean and comfortable.

A perfect vacation

We were looking for a laid back vacation and thought opting for a condo over a resort would allow for a little more freedom. We had the most amazing stay in Tamarindo. We looked into several condos, but decided on this one as we liked the two bedrooms (one for us and one for our two children), the large and enclosed balcony, the proximity to the beach (a must with kids) and the pool with the waterfall. We 100% made the right choice. The condo was exactly what we needed. It had everything we needed (lots of space, storage, basic kitchen supplies, linens including pool towels, even a small cooler and beach umbrella). Having two bathrooms was great. We loved the large balcony. Being enclosed kept the sun off it, which was a welcomed break from the heat. The unit was clean and the entire property was maintained very well. The pool is fantastic- lots of room and a sectioned off wadding area for littles. 24 hour security. Showers behind the waterfall for rising off from the beach. Walking distance to everything. So many amazing places to eat, shop and explore. There’s a small grocery store just steps away and we were able to get the basics for breakfasts/lunch and we went out for dinners. If you’re looking for surfing lessons or any excursions, everything is literally just steps away. The condo is off the street a bit, which helps with traffic and other noise. The pool closes at 9, and the waterfall is turned off before that, so evenings were quiet. The birds and howler monkeys might have you up early though! Communication with the owners was so great- before and during our stay. They were so helpful and accommodating. We booked our driver to and from the airport through them which was cheaper than the other prices we were quoted. The only thing that would have been useful to have was a toaster, but the kitchen had everything else and we made it work with a pan and the oven. We would 100% return to this condo unit and absolutely recommend it to others. Suitable for families, friends and couples of all ages. Really can’t say enough good things.

Sunrise condominium complex is a Spanish, hacienda style design featuring 24-hour security, secure parking and an oversized pool. In the heart of Tamarindo it’s just a few steps from the beach. A great family vacation complex.
Playa Tamarindo is a long, rocky beach, with excellent waves near the mouth of the estuary. Currents can be strong, especially on a falling tide. Tamarindo has two main breaks for advanced surfers: Pico Pequeño and the excellent river mouth break . The rest of the beach breaks are perfect for learning. The biggest waves can get up to 12 feet, although only during November and December.
Playa Grande beach is also where the Leatherback Turtle comes to lay its eggs. The leatherbacks take over the beach from November to April, digging their nests up to one meter deep, lay their eggs and cover the pit with sand, and return once again to the sea. After 60 to 90 days, the hatchlings emerge and immediately make their way to the water.
There is no road access from the town of Tamarindo to Playa Grande, as the two are separated by the Tamarindo River. However, there are small boats waiting to ferry people across the river at a modest fee. You can walk from the center of Tamarindo to the edge of the river along the wide beach.
There are other eco-friendly activities including watching turtles during their nesting season at night, diving, snorkeling, body surfing, zip-lining, estuary trips, horseback riding and fishing. During the December to April period when the water turbidity is low, fishing may be done from the shore.
Tamarindo is super easy to get around without a car! Plenty of inexpensive taxi and bus options should you not want to rent a car!
