Great family getaway

Loved the location as it was right on the beach. Enjoyed both levels of the decks. The views of the sunrise was stunning!! We didn't cook much, but the kitchen had everything we needed. Thank you for wonderful memories.

Best military retirement gift for ourselves

Family and friends visited from California and didn't want to go anywhere but stay the house. There was plenty of space and the beach view was amazing. We loved everything about the beach and has now made us consider purchasing a beach house in the near future. Everything was organized and was very clean. Thank you Vacasa for being part of my family and friends great experience in the East Coast.

Nice, well equipped house

Well equipped and clean as a whistle. Vacasa made this easy and non intrusive. We experienced a shower clog and they were on it extremely fast. It was a good week!

Nice Stay

The property was very nice and accurate to description. Unfortunately, there are several nails sticking up on the walkway to the beach, one of which left a large cut on my foot. I have yet to receive any acknowledgement of my injury after leaving an otherwise excellent review, which leads me to believe that the property isn't as well maintained as I initially thought.

Wonderful Location; Needs Some Help

We visit Topsail every year and each year we are in a different home and location. This is a fantastic location close to amenities but far enough away that you aren’t in the hubbub of Surf City. The house itself is well laid out for a big crowd or several families. We enjoyed the space. However, we will not be back to this house unless the carpets are replaced, a top to bottom deep clean is done , and simple maintenance issues such as air filter replacements are taken care of. Loved having an elevator!

Great stay.

The house over all was better than what pictures show. Yes the furniture does need to be updated. We had a total of 9 people staying and everyone was comfortable. There was enough beds for all staying. The railing on porches were a little wobbly. The bunkbed on 3rd floor was wobbly also which for heavier kids could be concerning. We loved that we did not have to climb up and down sand dunes to get to the beach. My favorite spot is the porch swing. Great view of ocean from all adult bed rooms, both living rooms and kitchen. Kitchen does need new cookware such as pots and skillets and larger refrigerator. Overall Great stay and would stay again.

Unfortunately, the negatives outweigh the positives for this property

While the property had a few positive aspects, the negatives far outweighed them. The biggest issues was an unexpected roof leak that occurred on day one, not even during a rainstorm. Despite notifying management, the issue was never addressed, leaving us frustrated and dealing with the mess the entire week as parts of the ceiling continued to collapse. Needless to say, the upper living area was unusable. To make matters worse, the door to the only usable living area also had a leak, adding to our frustration as we used our own beach towels to soak up what rain water we could from the inside. The property itself feels outdated, with a lot of wear and tear that's hard to ignore. Carpet was dirty and in need of cleaning, kitchen linoleum is in need of replacement, and water faucets were dirty. The game room turned out to be non-air conditioned and uncomfortable to use. And the home’s wifi was intermittent and slow. There were exposed nails in several areas of the deck, which posed a serious safety hazard, especially for kids. The deck itself was unsafe, with loose boards and wobbly railings, making us hesitant to use it. The porch swing partially collapsed when one of its corroded eyelet screws holding the swing’s chains gave way as my average-weight brother sat on it. On the positive side, the water pressure is good, the kitchen stove works well, and there is ample parking available. I would not recommend this property unless these serious concerns are addressed.

Beachfront house that could be really amazing with some updates

Here you will find a functional, but un-updated beachfront house less than a 10 minute drive from all of the shopping near the island. The rooms are a nice size, the kitchen is large enough for a few people to work in and it has mostly everything you would want/need to cook all meals. The dining room is large enough for everyone to eat at the same table. The overall layout is great with a living room on each floor. There's plenty of communal areas for everyone to enjoy including multiple beach side decks. There's a small elevator which is helpful for load-in/out or if you have a family member with mobility challenges. The HVAC had no issues keeping up with the summer beach heat. However, the property does not appear to have been updated in many years and thus everything is somewhat old including the mattresses which everyone complained about. Everything is functional, just not as comfortable as expected. Some additional things to note: there are only 2 full baths on the top floor that 4 bedrooms have to share. One of the 4 full baths in the listing is actually on the ground floor off the "game room". Since no floor plan is available in the listing this detail isn't very clear in the photos. That bath has HVAC but the game rooom (garage) does not which limits its use, at least in the summer. With the exception of the master there are no TVs in the bedrooms. The wifi was very slow with poor performance which causes problems with a house full of mobile devices trying to stream video at night. Pro tip: this has nothing to do with the house, but do not wait until 10AM to depart on Saturday morning during the summer or risk a 1-2 hour traffic jam as the entire south end of the island filters into one single-file line trying to enter the roundabout.
