Hilton Head Island has long been recognized as one of America's premier vacation destinations. Hilton Head's temperate climate is ideal for year-round family, golf and tennis vacations.

Shipyard Plantation is one of Hilton Head's finest gated communities, comprised of private homes, villas and the five-star rated Sonesta Resort. It is conveniently located close to the island's vacation activities. Shipyard has two security gates that enable quick access to the many shops and restaurants at Coligny Plaza and along the William Hilton Parkway. It is a short drive to Harbour Town with its scenic Yacht Basin, signature lighthouse, restaurants, shops and live entertainment.

Shipyard's healthy amenities include a twenty-seven hole championship golf course, the highly acclaimed Van Der Meer Racquet Club for tennis enthusiasts, miles of walking and bike paths and one of South Carolina's most beautiful beaches. If you want to explore the Plantation, local bike rental shops will deliver and pick-up your bike for $25 a week. If you prefer an organized exercise routine, daily and weekly memberships are available at the Sonesta Resort Health Club.

Colonnade Club is a secluded enclave in Shipyard, located at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, with views of the Galleon Golf Course. It has a large unsupervised community pool and heated jacuzzi, available to residents and guests, that is open April - September. There are two new community gas grills on-site.

Colonnade Club is an eight minute walk, or three minute bike ride, to the Atlantic Ocean. Access to Shipyard's private white sand beach and Beach Club is via a beautifully landscaped beach path that starts at Colonnade Club.

Our villa is a second floor two bedroom, two bath unit, overlooking the 6th fairway of the Galleon Golf Course, that was renovated in late 2013. Amenities include fresh paint, new carpet and furniture, upgraded kitchen, high definition TVs and Wi-Fi internet service.

Our villa has a comfortable living room with a queen size sofa bed, high definition TV, balcony with panoramic golf and lagoon views, dining area that will seat six guests, fully equipped kitchen and laundry room with a full size washer and dryer.

There are two bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king size bed, full bath and high definition TV. The second bedroom has two twin size beds, full bath and flat screen TV.

Our villa will be move-in ready when you arrive - exceptionally clean and fully stocked including kitchen supplies, towels, linens and paper products. All you will need to buy are food and beverages for your vacation.

Shipyard Plantation is a unique experience on Hilton Head Island. Our villa is an ideal retreat for families seeking a great vacation experience. Come enjoy Paradise!

Another (5th) great stay!

Super location at The Shipyard plantation. Unit was clean and well equipped. Were happy to see new washer/dryer that worked very well, along with other upgrades (v ‘23 stay).

Beach Vacation

The property was exactly as described - large, well stocked and close to beach and pool. Best stocked kitchen I’ve ever rented and no noise from other villas. You can walk, ride bikes or drive to beach. I’d definitely stay there again.

4th stay at this unit.

As with the previous three stays, this stay was great. Excellent condo, works perfectly for our group (2 adults + a 5 yr old). Location is super; 6 min bike ride to the ocean, 3 min walk to pool, 15 min bike ride to Celebration Low Country park. Golf at Shipyard was a lot of fun, too. Pat and Sonny are great hosts; very responsive.

Third visit; great time.

Stayed 8 nights. We found this unit in April ‘22. This was our third stay. We really like the proximity to the beach, shopping, dining and Celebration park. Excellent communication with Pat (property Mgr). The unit about 1200 sf, with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms. It’s well equipped with new microwave, new coffee maker, and other well functioning appliances. We highly recommend this villa.

Furnishings and cleanliness of the unit exceeded our expectations. Tastefully decorated with quality furnishings. The owner clearly takes very good care of this unit. The Colonnade Villas are our favorite due to the close proximity to the beach (8-10 minute peaceful shaded walk or faster bike), but the complex is tucked away on a dead end street away from the main drive leading to the beach access. Very peaceful and quiet.

The condo was clean and had lots of things I didn't get in the colonnade condo I stayed in last year such dish soap, beach towels, garbage bags and even laundry soap. All bonus items even though we brought our own. However, I would like to make two suggestions. One, a grill. We did our grocery shopping and then came back to the condo. We boughts lots of things to gill - but no grill. Second, the master bed was ridiculously uncomfortable. The two twin beds weren't much better but were slightly. Over all we enjoyed our stay and appreciate you sharing your place. Thank you, Denise

Poor experience

Property was way over priced for our experience. Check in says 4 pm (with a no guarantee clause) we showed up very early called about check in and were told on phone not until 4... so no problem we hung at the beach all day. At 4 pm we use our code given to us by property manager and the place was disgusting, dirty dishes in sink, beds were a mess with crumbs and used linens. We called immediately and were told by property manager, well the cleaners haven’t been there yet... yea no joke but they’ve had all day! No one was there since 11 when we showed up and called about early check in. After 5 hours you still don’t have someone there to clean the place! This after 4 pm mind you. In the midst of COVID-19 obviously we were very concerned for our health and safety after the very “fast” cleaning job that was done while we were outside waiting well after 4. We ended up staying in the place as little as possible.

We regret our guests were disappointed with their experience at 192 Colonnade Club. Our Rental Agreement states that normal check-in is 4:00 PM, but the property will not be available until it is declared ready by the Agent. Our guests arrived at 11:00 AM and requested an early check-in. We explained that we had a very busy cleaning schedule, but would have the villa ready for them as soon as possible. We gave them two free car passes in a gesture of good will. The renters accessed our villa at 4:00 PM, without permission, and immediately complained about it not being ready. We advised them the cleaning crew was in route to the villa. The cleaning crew arrived at 4:15 PM and immediately began a thorough cleaning of the property in compliance with COVID-19 guidelines.

Tasteful Stay

This unit is decorated very tastefully. It has all the kitchen and bath needs, and they are of high quality. We usually stay on the "side" units in Colonnade; this we our first stay in a "rear" unit although we have looked at some with realtors. It seems this unit is a little bigger than the side units and the deck is much bigger. But we didn't realize that the "rear" units face southwest and get the afternoon sun making it too hot to sit out on the deck (breakfast was nice). Like others have noted the door is difficult to operate and there are mud wasps nests and mud wasps flying around the deck area. The owner was supposed to contact us with the door code when the unit was ready (see other reviews and the owner's answer) but we did not receive a notice including the email from June 8 which confirmed our reservation but did not include the door code. But the owner was very nice and responsive with the code when we contacted her and in obtaining a guest pass for friends to visit. We had a good stay in this villa despite the fact that the unit downstairs was renovating their bathroom-the contractors were apologetic and waited until 9 to start. Not our villa owner's fault, (work needs to be done) but still adversely affected our stay.

Pat & Sonny are great property managers; very responsive and clear with their communication. The location/unit aspects are accurately described. We especially like The Shipyard complex, due to its ocean proximity, as well as proximity to restaurants, shopping, etc.

Great choice for a family vacation. The walk to the beach is about half a mile which is something to keep in mind if you have young kids. Kitchen was fully equipped and condo was clean!
