Lady Bug, Traditional Nags Head Charm Close To Beach Restaurants, Attractions.

As a family we have visited Nags Head and the Outer Banks for nearly four decades but on a more regular basis for the previous twenty years. During this time we have gained a love and appreciation for the area and people. We have had the privilege of staying at the Lady Bug Cottage for nearly twenty years and each visit has reinforced our love and appreciation for the amenities associated with the cottage and area. During this time we often fantasized about having a place in Nags Head and specifically in the neighborhood where the Lady Bug Cottage is located. During early 2013 we purchased the Lady Bug and plan to implement certain upgrades to the cottage enhancing comfort and convenience while retaining the traditionalism of a Nags Head cottage.
As working folks we understand the need to leave the routine of the working world and relax in an environment less demanding. Our quest for the Lady Bug is to retain and enhance an environment of safety, relaxation, convenience and amenities in an affordable manner. Washington Irving is quoted as saying “There is certainly something in angling that tends to produce a gentleness of spirit and a pure serenity of mind”. We see where the same can be said for a stay at the Lady Bug in Nags Head.

The Lady Bug Cottage is a traditional Nags Head beach box cottage featuring three bedrooms, two baths, a full kitchen and living area with amenities providing convenience, comfort and safety. Located in a residential neighborhood on a dead end street between the highways vehicular traffic is minimal and lends its self to pedestrian activities such as walking, jogging and biking. The cottage is located 1.25 blocks from a direct beach access. In less than a five minute leisurely walk one can have their feet in the sand enjoying the sea breezes, dolphins playing, relaxing with a book or just taking in the spectacular views of the Atlantic. The shoreline along this stretch beach is conducive to wetting a line and is noted to be a productive fishing area. The cottage is also located within walking distance of restaurants including Tortugas Lie and the Pier House Restaurant located on the infamous Nags Head Fishing Pier. Additional attractions such as Jockey’s Ridge, Gallery Row and other attractions are in walking or biking range. Although located in a quiet residential area it is just a short drive to other fine eateries, shopping and attractions.
Guests of the Lady Bug will find a well appointed and maintained cottage with creature comforts and amenities that will contribute to your visit. Guests are provided with beach chairs and an umbrella eliminating the need to transport like items from home. The flat screen TVs allow for versatile viewing while the Wi Fi connectivity enables the use of the internet and e-mail. in 2023 we are implementing streaming capabilities.
The owner/operators of the Lady Bug have a goal of providing comfortable, clean, safe, relaxing accommodations in close proximity to a variety of attractions and amenities while providing value to our guests. We don’t think you will be disappointed.

One of the most unique benefits of the Lady Bug Cottage is its location. It is located on a two block dead end street in a totally residential area of Nags Head between the highways while providing easy access to the beach, restaurants, attractions and amenities. The beach is located within less than a five minute walk from the cottage with no major roads to cross. Amenities associated with the cottage for guest convenience include an outside shower, beach chairs, umbrella, charcoal park style grill, washer and dryer. Other amenities such as dishwasher, full kitchen and small appliances as well as flat screen TVs are provided. The cottage is maintained in a clean and orderly manner both on the exterior and interior. The cottage boasts a screened in front porch as well as an open deck on the rear and a small open deck on the south side and a gathering area on the ground level..
The owners/operators of the Lady Bug have implemented a guest evaluation program providing guests direct input pertaining to the cottage. The guests evaluations have been extremely complimentary and their input has contributed to the overall plan for the cottage and much if not all items have been incorporated.
