About this property
Hiker & Biker Cabin: A Peaceful Stay in Nature
Welcome off the beaten path to Hiker & Biker, a century-old cabin nestled on a private acre in Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains. Wake to birdsong & fresh mountain air, spend your days exploring nearby trails or unwinding on the spacious deck, then end each evening beneath a sky full of stars as fireflies dance & the chorus of frogs fills the night. Thoughtfully updated while preserving its historic charm, our cabin invites you to slow down, reconnect, and experience the beauty of mountain living.
The cabin is a single-story space with a loft that serves as an additional sleeping area. The loft is accessed by a wooden ladder (shown in photos), so please use caution when going up and down. The loft is an open air space and has a railing in the front. You can see the loft and ladder space from the main living room photo.
Our hope is that you’ll take this time to unplug, enjoy the surrounding nature, and connect with your company. That said, we understand emergencies happen. While we do not offer Wi-Fi and do not have strong cell reception, there is a signal booster available. To access cell service or data, simply place your phone directly in front of the booster. Please note that coverage is limited to that immediate area and does not extend throughout the property.
This is our much-loved older home tucked away in a rural, heavily wooded mountain setting. Wildlife sightings are common, and like any cabin in nature, you may occasionally see an outdoor insect making an indoor appearance. If you’re uncomfortable with the realities of a rustic mountain environment, please reconsider this booking. The best way to minimize the number of bugs inside is to keep doors and windows closed at all times. Please also carefully clean up the kitchen every night and securely package up all food. We provide bug killer spray and a hand vacuum, should you wish to take matters into your own hands. However, all bugs we have are harmless, remember, they are more scared of you than you are of them. No refunds will be given if you find a bug, as we have clearly stated such possibility’s exist.
Please note: the propane fireplaces are turned off during the spring and summer months and is available for use during the colder seasons. The wood fireplace is able to be used all seasons.

What makes this property unique
At Hiker & Biker, we believe the best memories are made when you slow down. Nestled on a private acre in Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains, our century-old cabin offers something increasingly rare—a place to truly disconnect from everyday life and reconnect with nature, loved ones, and yourself. Unlike many modern vacation rentals, Hiker & Biker Inn isn't designed to be a luxury resort. It's an authentic mountain retreat where the charm of a historic cabin meets the comforts of home. Thoughtfully updated while preserving its original character, the cabin provides a warm, inviting space with a fully equipped kitchen, two bathrooms, air conditioning, and an in-unit washer and dryer. What sets our cabin apart is the experience. There is no Wi-Fi, no televisions, and only limited cell service. Instead, you'll wake to birds singing outside your window, spend your days exploring nearby trails, mountain biking, paddling local waterways, or visiting Virginia's Blue Ridge attractions. Evenings are best spent gathered around the fire pit, relaxing on the spacious deck, watching fireflies dance through the trees, listening to the chorus of frogs, and gazing up at a sky filled with stars. Privacy is another hallmark of Hiker & Biker Inn. Surrounded by nature and tucked away from busy roads, the cabin offers the peace and quiet that so many travelers seek but rarely find. Whether you're looking for a romantic getaway, a family retreat, or a basecamp for outdoor adventures, you'll find the space to unwind at your own pace. Hiker & Biker Inn is also more than just a vacation rental—it's a labor of love. Lovingly restored and cared for by three generations of women, every improvement has been made with the goal of preserving the cabin's history while creating a welcoming place for others to enjoy. If you're searching for a place where you can trade notifications for birdsong, traffic for mountain air, and busy schedules for simple moments, Hiker & Biker Inn is waiting for you.
